Does the NVMe hat fit into it? I've gone back to the default heatsink/fan with NVMe hat and no case. I hope they'll think about that in a next case design. I do like the default heatsink+fan. It does make too much noise maxed out, but better than what they had before... Nothing...
@@burstfireno1617 Do know you can't use NVMe with these cases. Maybe see if there's any case with room for it, just to be future proof. NVMe is a nice feature on it. Can run up to 800MB/s at gen3. SD-reader is very good too, best of all the SBCs I've got. 90MB/s with sandisk extreme.
"needs more metal and more surface area" - exactly my findings. I have used a bunch of passive cases from flirc and others and the thing gets too hot for me. I hope someone designs and releases a more effective case but i think the cost will be higher and make no business sense
I use RK3588 devices passively cooled. So it can be done. My NanoPi R6S is my favorite for that. Has a great heavy case that keeps it cool at all times. It indeed would cost a lot more to have it be cool enough at max OC. It isn't really designed for the overclock I think. It is an extra 3.5W. So makes a big difference.
The official case and fan (not the metal one) is quiet and the plastic doesn't get too hot. I run mine with the lid off.

Well just dont overclock and you wont have any issues 😊 I’ll take the passiv cooling
Indeed, I just like to live on the edge 😁
Even overclocked it works well enough if you don't have a continuous load.
@@NicoDsSBCs Thanx for the review :) Im about to buy the Pi5 and now i know what case to buy. 🥳

@@NicoDsSBCs Hm ok. 👍

This guy is an absolute 🤡 👎
Who's the clown when you make stupid comments like that? If don't like it then don't watch it.
