  • In honor of LGBT Pride Month in June 2018, the Museum screened "A Luv Tale" (45 mins), a film that focuses on two women-a lesbian photographer and her straight editor-who are lucky enough to find each other in the emotional traffic jam of life. With humor and passion, the women ask the question: How far will you go to follow your heart? Written, directed and produced in 1999 by Sidra Smith, whose current project, "A Luv Tale: The Series," is a web series that examines love and friendship between four beautiful, successful and sophisticated lesbians navigating their complex lives through a world of art, music, fashion and politics.
Sidra Smith received an NAACP Image Award for producing the documentary Free Angela & AllPolitical Prisoners, an examination of the life and times of civil rights activist Angela Davis andexecutive produced by Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Jay-Z.
