Thumbs down comes from people that are jealous and dont want anybody living a better life than them or other homesteaders that dont want lumnah acres looking better than them. JMO but what other reason could there be. If they dont like this way of living dont watch. If i'm watching something and dont like it, i just leave.

Gigi Register there will always be people in the world that want to try and make someone else’s days as miserable as theirs are. Jealousy is wasted energy in my opinion. Al and his family do Great things in their videos and I love watching them and their channel grow. He does amazing work and him and his family are very hard workers. I also don’t understand why people would leave such a wholesome friendly channel a thumbs down, but then again you can’t please everyone. Gigi you have a wonderful day and Al, Gina and Olivia keep your videos coming, I love watching them and always learn new things!! XOXOXOXO

Great job & video! Reminded me of the days I use to help my stepdad with the cars & trucks lol. Sure came in handy when I became an adult & on my own.
I think Olivia would take to the mechanics side, as well as she did with the carpentry you've been teaching her. She'll appreciate having the knowledge you've taught her, when she grows up.
I'm going to have my grandkids watch yours & Justin Rhodes videos. I think they'd like them & it would be a good intro to homesteading for them.
Thank you, your wife & daughter for all the work you've done, to give us these great videos.

I'm so jealous LOL I can't wait to move back to the country... I grew up on a lifestyle block in a massive farming community in New Zealand and then when I was 18 I moved to Sydney, Australia (because I like money), got married and now hubby and I are planning to buy a lifestyle block, maybe around 8-12 acres in around 3-4yrs time, not tooooo big but not too small either. I cant wait! Missing that country air. I love how you manage your little farm though, its brilliant.

    • @jasminefrench1223
      @jasminefrench1223 6 років тому +1

@@LumnahAcres not back to New Zealand, as despite the heat, Australia is quite nice. IT'S A LOT easier to grow things in New Zealand (stick it in the ground, and it will happen! Lots of good volcanic soil). We will probably purchase land in country New South Wales (maybe 2-3 hours from Sydney). Our biggest problem to solve will be a drought management system (fancy word for tonnes of water tanks and a spring) as right now I know a loooot of farmers over here are doing it tough haven't had decent rain for around 3 seasons. It will be interesting!

Hey Al good video, you will catch on to the V-plow in no time. One bonus of the V-plow is use the forward V when piling up the snow it works well. One other tip I would recommend is getting a spacer or a piece of pipe for all those washers on the two shoes/skids if you lose a pin on those feet those washers are going everywhere, if you notice it right away you may be able to find them but likely not, having a consistent spacer on the bottom would be easier. You will be "the boss" in no time!

Wow! That is really an impressively versatile plow for a home use item. Clearly, you can use it to clear to the left side, right side, or both sides. I'll be patiently waiting to see it in action.
While you're complaining about too much rain now, I was glad to wake up to cloudy skies and air largely cleared of the smoke from regional forest fires here, in the so-called 'rainy Puget Sound'. Down at sea level, the Sun has been disappearing about an hour before sunset, and we could barely make out the outline of the island that is about 3½ miles away instead of being able clearly to see the Cascade Mt. peaks that are about 20 times as far away.

If your gravel road is anything like the gravel roads in Pennsylvania you are going to want to set your feet so that the blade sits a little higher, if you have them set so the blade to low you will tear up the road the first few plows till all the holes are filled in and all the high spots are pushed off the side.

As well as adding a column or 2 to the trucks maintenance schedule, you also have plenty of time to plan where to put all that snow, you'll be moving, in 6 months time. It looks mighty fine. I wanted to ask if you thought of grafting, nut trees onto existing fruit tree stock for variety?- or is that possible? More likely done in the spring? Some choices may require micro-climate work. Good to see all the developments Al, great video.

Missed your video yesterday 😢 Your plow is so pretty!!! How many hours did it take to put it all together and prepare your truck?

The turkeys are getting noticeably bigger. I think they'll be good to go by November.

Great video it is informative. I am thinking about buying a plow as well. How did you get it shipped to you versus having a dealer install it for you. If you could answer that would be great thank you.

Actually, I'd like it if you did a little vijeo on the theory and operation of that kind of plow. It looks a lot like the big boys type of plow that municipalities use. Also, where is the hydraulic pump? Is it that electrically powered box on the back of the plow? If the hydraulic pump is electrically powered, did you have to beef up your alternator or battery on the truck?

Yes the hydraulics are powered by the truck's electrical system. I don't think you have to, but it wouldn't hurt to have a 2nd battery or better alternator.

You will love the v blade. It allows you to get into tighter spaces and cleans up better too. I was wondering what size crate do the pigs sleep in?

If it weren't for that one part where you had to widen the holes in order to get the braces to fit, this would've been a great Boss ad.
I'm stumped why that was necessary... and curious if it was a problem Boss knows about? Was it a "hey, you might have to do this for certain truck models" in the manual, or did you have to figure it out by yourself?
Anyway, congrats on the install job!
I definitely would have had to pay somebody to do it.
It looks to be a sweet tool to have.
