What a great way to raise a family. Olivia will carry on all these great moments and lessons learnt all her life. The love od Mom and Dad, the farm and life foundations! God Bless you all!!!!
Congratulations on your new additions! 7:01 Great mother daughter and newbie moment! 8:27 Mrs Lumnah's escape spot! Looking forward to more fun times with all the critters. 👍
A good healthy looking group. I raised up to 40 goats up north. They brushed out on the earthen dam for the state there. You’ll have many happy fun filled days ahead.
The goats are just beautiful!!!!We got twins yesterday afternoon from one of our boer goats.Just starting with boer goats about a year and a half ago, but have had milk goats for about 10 years now.We just love our goats.Waiting for two more nannies to have their babies this month. Its always so exciting.
They are very cute goats. Very plump and healthy looking. I'm not used to the dwarf breeds I have the larger breeds. Mine are mostly Boer/Nubian cross. I wouldn't leave the plastic chairs in there because they could get caught up in them. I've had mine get their heads caught in buckets because I'll forget to remove it. They have a tendency to get into things you don't want them to get into. I've made a lot of dumb mistakes over the years and I've learned a lot of new things too. Lots of joys and heartaches.
Love your new goats! You should make them a small hay feeder for their stall & something to secure a water bucket, so they won't tip over their water. Your family is a perfect fit for your new goats lol. Have fun with them! Congrats!
I love this video! I admire your preparation ahead of bringing home your animals. You do a great job with your builds. Everything looks neat and well cared for. The goats are beautiful and sweet.
Might I suggest a smal building project for the goats. Make a small feed holder and hang it up from the floor inside the barn for overnight munching. You could even make it movable to keep them interacting with their enviroment. Bored goats are destructive goats. Kind of like toddlers and pigs. LOL!! THEY ARE SO DARNED CUTE!!!!!!!!!!
I woke early this AM (03:02) to view the New Additions to the LAF- and it was worth it- as I have viewed it intermittently throughout the day, this is my forth time! 💞🌻💞💞excellence.
you need to put a 2 x 4 or a 2 x 6 about six to10 inches above the ground around the inside of the goat fence to keep the goat from standing on the wire fencing when looking out at what’s going on outside the fencing.🐐 🌽 👍 🐐 💜 you all seem to be having too much fun playing with the goats, enjoy seeing ever one happy enjoying the goats, even seeing Figaro sneaking around behind the goat pen
Try shaking a bucket w/ a hand full of grain in it everytime you want them to come to you. After awhile they should come to you w/ no probs :) Good to see the pigs are able to get out to the green stuff :)
Al, you, Gina and Libby are creating a GREAT life there on your homestead. Your passion and joy just shines through with each project and addition to the homestead. By the way, have you seen the bears again? Will you leave the goats out during the day when you are at work with the bears around?
Awesome! The goats seem to have gotten comfortable real quick. The kids are a bit bigger than I was expecting; too cool. Bet you didn't know your feeder would double as a bed lol. Also they didn't waste any time going for the greens/weeds...sure they're going to love it when they can be out and about. Baby steps for sausage and links it looks like. S@#%, if I got zapped on the nose, I'd slow my roll a bit as well lol. Have a great week everybody.
I had to laugh when the little goat ended up IN the feeder ..... kinda caught me by surprise ~8^) Figaro has a little corner to spy on the goats from. I bet you could put together a goat "jungle gym" out of big wire spools in the middle of their enclosure for them to climb on ..... Olivia might like that too lolzzzzzzz! Take care New Ham Shire!
Nice video. Nice breed of goat. In a few years you will have a dozen. Be blessed. You can use the strings from the hay in the garden. Nice goats. I had Toggenburgs and LaManchas. I think I would get Nigerian Dwarfs too if I were to ever get another goat. You do not need gallons of milk, just milk for drinking, cooking and coffee. You know your fence is working. I wish they had those type of fence chargers back in my day. Do you have any alfalfa hay available to you? I used to feed all alfalfa and I got a lot of great milk. Your butterfat in the ND milk may be far higher than what I got years ago. A little vinegar in the water, 1/4 cup to five gallons of water, will increase the number of female offspring. Next year you will have three millers. Al, you and the family are so blessed. Soon they will settle into a great routine.
Wow. I just watched you finishing the goat barn just minutes ago. And now the goats are here. Congrats Lumnah Acres. Can you add some tree stumps for them to climb on?
aww this was another great episode lol. I've been waiting patiently along with you guys , this was pretty exciting :). Those are sweet names, welcome goats :). They are too cute and i didn't think a goat would fit through those bars lol *mind blown.*
maybe until they learn the routine you can get them to their barn with a little bucket with grain in it. they will follow you for that. the babies are older than i thought they would be for some reason, they are good looking animals and seem very healthy. so is mama used to bring milked?
Awesome!! Pretty healthy goats. You should check "wholesome roots" for tips and tricks on feeding, avoiding toxic plants, hoof trimming and free choice minerals. She is amazing goat lady.
Those goats look in perfect shape and health. Nice to see how people friendly they are and not skittish at all. I guess the breeder has given you the information as to how they were fed. Besides hay, what else do you feed the goats? Are you supposed to be giving them minerals as well? They sure complained a lot when they were locked into the goat barn.....
We have been feeding them hay, alfalfa pellets and grain. We are feeding them the same way the breeder did. We also have free choice minerals and baking soda out for them
Love, love, love your new goats! Can you tell us what type of goats they are. Their size is perfect. Also like your bee hive. I just got 2 like it on Friday. A fellow was getting out of bees due to failing health and advanced age. I am getting my chickens this week. I am following your designs for building things on my homestead. Thanks for all your great videos.
Great Video! How cute are those goats.... Hey just a thought, maybe you should have made the door to the goat Barn a "Dutch Door" insteat of a reg door. Just an after thought on my part.
Awesome goats! You're right, they are smaller than Nubians. Very healthy, friendly and perfect for you, Gina and Olivia. You'll just have to see how bouncy they get regarding the fence height... The folks you bought them from get an A+ for the condition of their herd!
Hi Jessie, I forgot what kind Al bought. He can share that with you. I only have past experience with Nubians and love them. Their milk tastes very close to cow's milk when chilled. And they are playful as well. Their ears flop down. They remind me of small deer. We raise grass fed beef and I can't put a Jersey in with the herd, so I'm hoping to have a couple of Nubians. Best of luck! My next project is Californian rabbits :-)
Hey al she we feed our girls chaffhaye 2x a day. I call it breakfast and dinner. Lol. I mix in purina dairy goat grains, sunflower seeds, flax and a Cobb molasses mix along with conditioning herbs for coat and health but also a lactation blend.
Heads up goaty parents 💕 a little apple cider vinegar in their drinking water :) we breed goats & its very helpful to them also diatomacious earth & baking soda, goat minerals & probiotics added to their morning scoop of grains :) also diatomacious earth the heck out their barn space when u clean it out weekly :) these are a few things we learned on our journey 💕
Go to your local phone or electric company and ask to get on the list for wire spools. The big ones make awasome got hoof trimming table and climbing on them. We nailed roofing shingles on the top too to help them grind down thier own hooves. The small ones make good coffee tables while you sit out with them........ps........get wide bottom cups if drinking coffee with goats.......they are rude
Its amazing how well they work. As they jump up and down on it you find hoof dust and particles on it.........and if you dont have a hose to rinse it off now and then.......in a decent rain storm go broom it off.......it cleans up fairly easy with water and a little elbow power
What a great way to raise a family. Olivia will carry on all these great moments and lessons learnt all her life. The love od Mom and Dad, the farm and life foundations! God Bless you all!!!!

And i love the work u do. And you got a lot of room you can work more easier
Beautiful goats. Hope they make you all very happy. How did the piggys do out and about?
