    I think we've found this generation's Robert Plant - I'm as straight as they come and both these men are two of the most beautiful human beings I've ever seen!

    He's like Isak Øvrevold from last year as his voice is as exceptional as Isak's was. Isak was also a finalist. Both should have won as Inger Lise Hope and keira weren't as good as these two are.

    Good enough, but kinda surprised he was a finalist with the amount of quality in Norway's auditions.
    Feel like maybe his artistry caught people's eye and appealed to them more than some people with just strong voices. Found him to have very little range, and relied on that vocal fry effect a bit too much. Definitely think he could have a great career though, just hope he continues to improve his craft.

      @RicardoVanHouten 3 дні тому +2

      he has a vocal range of 3,5 octaves if you call that little range, from high to low and a sick vibrato, he needs to train more and more but he is quite new to singing Jarl was his first mentor so I partly agree with you

    • @zartesiempre9554
      @zartesiempre9554 2 дні тому +1

      @@RicardoVanHouten 3.5 octaves? Are you sure? I mean, I'll concede defeat if that's the case, but I was listening and the number of times I was wanting more depth of sound was frequent.
      Am not in agreement on the vibrato though, it feels more like a fry than a vibrato, and it's heavily overused (for me)
      As I say, my comments fall within the span of a singing competition though. He's still very very good, I just don't know that he would have got so far without the accompanying visuals. For people who like that stuff, that's great, but I just felt like costume was used in place of performance a bit.

      @@zartesiempre9554 Reminds me of an early Lady Gaga or Madonna when the performance was more striking than the vocals. At least with Lady Gaga, with intensive coaching, her singing improved immensely. I think this will apply to Lavrans as well.
      That being said, having a wide vocal range doesn't necessarily mark a great singer. I remember a vocal coach saying a great singer tells a story, and makes you feel a part of that story.

      @@susanbond6798 , you responded to my comment on the youtube channel "teacher Paul reacts" and I couldn't answer that to you, I'm stuck on the channel. UA-cam don't allow you to change your comment more than once. So I answer you here. First of all, I put the Callas aside, it's completely different, she did opera. OK, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Withney Houston aren't maybe the best singes of world but they're still considered the great vocalists of recent years (90s). They are even nickamed the trinity vocal. And If we ask current artists which singers they listened to when they were younger (when they were teenagers), Céline Dion, Withney Houston and Mariah Carey will certainly be on the list. This year, a candidat of 16 years sang 'All by my self" , cover of Celine Dion on The Voice France. Even the teenagers listen Celine Dion. Every year, the songs of Céline Dion, Mariah Carey and Withney Houston are sung on every The Voice, Idol and other singing competition in the world. And they are a major influence on today's aspiring singers : in this year's The Voice Belgium and The Voice France, many candidates confused singing with shouting (the coaches turn around and this candidats did the lives). But it's The Voice show that's causing this. Why do I say this ? In this year's Voice Norway, one candidate sang Rihanna's "Man Down".She sang it well, It is perfect but none of the judges turned around. At another time when the judges didn't turn around on another candidate, they said that the public thinks that singing high is difficult but that it's singing in the bases that's difficult because it requires interpretation. But I remind you they didn't look back at the candidate who sang "Man down". In my opinion, for the other candidat, they wanted to justify the fact that none of the them turned around when at least one of them should have. A viewer who was disappointed for the candidate who sang "Man Down" wrote this comment: "In the Voice, we only look for people who shout, if Katie Melua or Diana Ross had taken part in The Voice, they wouldn't have been selected". Another viewer agreed with her. I don't have problem with Katie Melua and Diana Ross but I think the viewer is right. The Voice is made for people with a voice like Inger Lise (great vocal ability and technical skills). Only one judge turned on Lavrans and during the audition, there was one judge who said he was too much into the bases. But all 4 judges looked back at Inger Lise and during the audition, they were amazed and in awe. And Jarle said to her: "If you don't make the final, I don't understand anything anymore". And The Voice, viewers often love this kind of voice, so it is logic that Inger Lise won.

      @@zartesiempre9554 apologize its 3 octaves, but just like susan says with intensive coaching Lavrans will reach even higher notes, but he does a really good job already, look at the stage present and performance he has grown from blinds to super final. Also just like susan says a great singer doesn't need range, look at Nina Simone she had 2.5 octaves and something went wrong during a performance she lost an octave, and she still rocked her performances and still could bring the message with the songs she sang
