The Genesis is pretty much a bargain compared to its closest competitors! I have an 09 genesis and after all this time the car still looks fresh and new.
Absolutely in LOVE with the genesis, I have always loved it, and especially love the new one. Would definitely take this over similarly priced luxury sedans
I have this car in the 2015 model which looks almost exactly like the one tested here. Nothing is ever perfect, and there are a few small tweaks I'd like to make ti it, but overall it's a 5 out of 5. Most people who see my car for the first time think it's brand new because it has a nice contemporary, if not cutting edge, look to it, and because it is super clean and has every feature Genesis offers. But maybe the best thing is that I got it (six months ago) for $24K out the door. Because it's not a Lexus or German, its depreciation is a little more than cars with those prestige nameplates, but, hey, I didn't have to pay for that depreciation and now I get to drive, by far, the best car I've ever owned. In fact, I like it so much that I'm always looking for an excuse to drive it.
I have the same car too. 2015 ultimate paid 24k with 35k miles about 6 mo.s ago also. I love it!! I threw different wheels on it and tinted the windows and it really changed the appearance of the car tremendously.
Great review! I recently reviewed the all-new Genesis G90, and it definitely impressed me! The Genesis G80 also seems like a pretty decent entry in its class based off of this review! 👌 The reverse camera in Hyundai products aren't the best, but they get the job done! The G90's camera is much improved, though with a seemless 360 degree camera... Mainly since it is a true Genesis, while this is just a carry over Hyundai Genesis from last year! Also, the clock in the G90 was very premium looking, while the clock in the G80 is just lacking a certain pizzazz. 🤔 I cannot wait until I can get my hands on one of these G80's to conduct my full in-depth reviews of! Keep up the great work! 😉 👍👊 -DriveAndBeDriven 🚘 "The Quest To Record The Best!" 📽
You should look at G80 sport AWD or Kia Stinger GT AWD with 3.3 TT. Nice power, good traction and looks nice. Personally I'll go with Kia, because G80 look has been out for a while.
Give us your face-lift and sport model, Genesis!!!Also, Korean version G80 is possible to control climate and radio in the back seat, and that back seat has power laying down system like G90..why not American version??
I agree. I think it was a risky move to put the rebranded Genesis brand name on what was a carryover car from the 2015 Hyundai Genesis. The lease rates and I bet incentives on this car are pretty good in the US tho.
The smaller infotainment until has Android auto and Apple car play. For some reason the bigger one doesn't. The heated seats in the rear is also in a specific version.
bad review; your g80 doesn't have any features. That car is very basic G80. for example, g80 does come with heated seats in the rear; where is the nice roof.
So just looked, now there is either a Premium or Ultimate package on the 3.8. Given the one I drove was in the 50k range, I believe it was the Ultimate, but I don't have the spec sheet at this point.
In some ways true. Interior quality is similar. But here we have the RWD tho. I had no desire to hoon in the Cadenza, but this car while not sporty, felt shockingly composed and hid its size better. Go Lotus suspension turning + RWD. Makes me excited for the sport version of this and especially the Kia Stinger.

It’s a great car- even more so at what you paid.

Funny because I have heated seats in the back
I have one of these, a '15 V6. Great car, I love it better than my old Lexus GS. I will be trying out the 3.3T sport model of the G80 when available.
Interesting to hear that praise from a Lexus owner. Also very excited for the Sport should bring it on par with the Euroepans a bit better.
I know a guy who went from E Class to Genesis 5.0 and he said the G was much better than the E.

The g80 is great; did you look at the g80 Ultimate package?
impressive. just waiting for Genesis SUV.
TheMichaelRN This summer brother
can't wait for your Kia Stinger review.
Yay! its a SOLO! I have three. love them.
Does Genesis have stand-alone dealership yet? Or you are still going to Hyundai dealership?

B Blackwell good info!
The double pane glass helps with noise control
def a good tip, laminated, thicker, or double glass are always huge.
If I can only afford the Genesis I would buy one. I own two Hyundais and they're still going strong '06 & '09 Tucson/Sonata
@@kanehi Have you looked for a used one? There are some great deals out there.
Same gear shift as the sonata
makes sense, that is one of their higher end cars.
Damn that's nice can i have it
haha, I wanted to keep it myself, it was a great car.
It would make a great uber car.
Phil O haha joke
Top Up G80

Thanks for stopping by. Usually the press cars are pretty loaded out, but it seems this one was missing some options, it did have the Pano roof.

it's a better upgraded cadenza.
