- Esports legacies can be tricky. Obviously, competitors want to be remembered by future generations. But, sometimes, whether it’s a team effort or an individual achievement, the things they’re remembered for can be…kind of embarrassing. Today, we’re going to take a look at some of the more…unfortunate esports records out there.

I don't know what's more embarrassing, losing to 42 matches in a row or losing to team that hasn't won a match in 42 games
Fun fact, Shanghai went on to be one of the best teams in overwatch winning the most or second most titles of any team.
The latter, mostly due to how the pressure is all on the team that doesn't have a reputation of losing.
Tbf i woukdnt feel bad if im the boston (the 43rd game) since its a completely new team with some crazy talents. I would however will be embarrassed to lose he 40th game of the first owl sesson
Honestly... the Shanghai Dragons has had the ultimate arc... they went from 0-40 in season 1 and has the biggest loss streak ever with 42 losses to season 2 dragons being around the middle and season 3 were really close to winning and then season 4 where they won the championship... just a perfect arc
@@JunkPrat1113 except instead of leveling the MCs to deal with power creep they just replaced them
the number 6 record is even more impressive when you realize the shanghai dragons after their massive loss streak went on to become arguably the best team in overwatch history, rivaled by only the san francisco shock. now that is truly a turnaround for the ages
it was a completely different team and coaching staff but as a franchise yeah
What is it because of an overhaul in the teams management?
You do realize the team they had when they won the playoffs was completely different from the team in the first season right?
Dynasty superior
And even despite all their success, their all time record sits at 52-64 with their closest competition from their title winning season (Dallas Fuel) just behind them on 50-66, making them the 14th and 15th worst teams in league history based on win-loss records.
Fun fact Shanghai now has the most tournament/stage title wins of any Overwatch team in OWL. Only SF Shock have won the league more than the Dragons.
The only part that hurt is that Geguri didn't have her redemption arc, even if she was part of the team during some titles she was not an active player.
didnt they have a whole new team when they won their firstmatch?
@@felixwarp Yes, they completely revamped the team with really good players. Dding (probably the best pharah player to ever exist), and Diem (one of the best widow players to ever play the game). They won stage 3 Finals that year as well.
@@felixwarp most teams do.
i mean there is nobody to fight on overwatch anyways. The star players moved on a better game
To earn the Maelk award not only do you need 0/20+ KDR, but more importantly your team needs to still win the match.
Yeah, the point of the maelk award isn't that he was a bad player, it was that sometimes playing position 5 requires you to die for your team. He was on venomancer, a character whose ult does high damage but is unable to directly kill enemies. He's credited as assisting on 21 out of his team's 30 kills, so it's hard to say he didn't have impact. Also, if you check the dotabuff for the match (Match ID 8322828), you can see that he did 14k damage to enemy heroes, putting him in the middle of his team, only behind the carry doom and mid potm who were at 19k damage.
My previous game I had 1-16-42 as IO and we won. I should've played for the maelk achievement 😂
Yeah that's kinda just venomancer in a nutshell. I occasionally play him position 1, and I have been top networth and highest level while 2-12.
You just die a lot on that hero even when having impact.
@@12-343 Veno's purpose is just to cast your poisons, die, then watch the whole enemy team die 🤣
@@scrappydrake4683
That means Maelk was really important to his team. He didn't frag a lot, but his assists were massive, so he was like a pillar in the bridge
Maelk's 0-20 win is not embarassing at all
good supps dont ks
It is for Asians
EHOME making it to 80 minutes in a game where they are that far behind in gold is an achievement
I was thinking the same thing, like they were 154k behind and still kept them from reaching Ancient
I'm a LoL player and a DOTA game making it to 80 minutes 150k gold diff blows my mind.. most of the audience probably fell asleep mid game
@@johnnyairplane2896 60+ minutes game is actually quite normal in Dota because not like LoL, you can buyback (buying insta respawn with gold). Also Dota heavily on teamfight which occurs like every 5 minutes.
@@johnnyairplane2896 we recently had a 100+ minutes game and similar gold difference at The International 11 main stage (Entity vs. RNG). Glued to the screen the whole time, honestly one of the best match in the series.
@@reas_0n Thats crazy
Y'all forgot the most important requirement for receiving the maelk award is that you have to win the game as well but w/e.
To the Dragons credit, they went on to not only win a stage championship but they also were the team that figured out how to Slay the dreaded GOATS meta. Before role locks happened, the Dragons beat the top 3 GOATS teams in a row not playing GOATS themselves, actually was a 1 tank, 3 DPS, 2 support comp as I recall.
the sheer enthusiasm of the crowd when SD got their first victory is so wholesome
And the funny thing is that the hype wasnt because of a final or anything, just a match lmao
Definitely watched the whole video that was released 2 minutes ago
CIS Commentators who made the SolEk meme are just pure legends! Sl4m and Strike are legends forever!
Imagine not mentioning c9 in Overwatch.
While they are not the only team to have done it, they did it three times in a match.
Now their name is synonymous with a blunder.
No 2. You said it is embarrassing, but the truth is it is insane to be able to hold out to the point that elephant need 150k gold difference to win the match. It shows how strong their throne defence is.
surprised you didnt include the infamous perfect legend - sonic fox 13-0
I was looking for that one 😂, 13-0 in a first to 5
They made a whole video talking about that.
both dota records were not embarrassing at all, it was prob more embarrassing for the winning team that they needed a 150k gold lead to win
Another embarrassing moment was when G2 forgot to defuse that match in Nuke
TSM 0-6 in 2020 Worlds was straight up the most embarrassing performance I've ever witnessed in esports. After NA's depressing 2019 Worlds, ppl saw genuine hope from the LCS 2020 Summer playoffs with TSM clutching out unreal Game 5s after Game 5s to eventually win the finals with new and unique picks to the point where they were SOMEWHAT seen to be on par with EU's G2 & FNC for like the first time since 2017. It's not even like they had any excuses as well seeing as they had literally no subs whatsoever, they just fucking blew it and pretty much solidified NA to forever be the clowned region in LOL when their 1st seed couldn't even win a single match in their own group. Everything, and I mean everything about it was terrible and I don't even think I put it to justice rn.
Totally Agree. Instantly remembering the legendary 9 man sleep
Agreed. Also on track atm to NA being 0-18 in group stage.
There's the problem: You're out here hoping for the LCS to do a damn thing for once.
The fact oskar didnt get a single awp kill when faze rushed mid is so funny
# of times Arteezy has been Cliffed LUL
funny, back in the day I was at a cs lan tourney and our team did a faze run up the mid on d2. It was a long day and we were pissed at the half so far so on a buy round we ran it. The round snapped us out of the funk and we won out and the match. Those troll rounds are done for reasons beyond in game strategy lol
After watching this video a small phrase sparkled in my head, it sounded like "Je m'appelle Glass Joe"
This couldn’t be more appropriate to pop up on my recommended after NA went 0-9 the first week of worlds in league.
League of Legends might have one of these in the future if NA goes 0-18.
It's be interesting to see the fastest win/loss based off of first shot hit. I think something like b0i's ace in Valorant could be up there.
Overwatch and Dota during intense fights are just the best things an epileptic person could ever watch.
I don't understand how that Shanghai team lasted so long. I've never heard of this and I'm still kinda new to learning about pro E sports but it seems like whenever a Valorant team loses 1 match, they're all on Twitter saying that the team is disbanding. Does Shanghai just have more money or what?
Franchising, that's why.
OWL is franchised, funny thing is is that they not only had an MVP player (Fleta) on their 2020 roster, they were OWL Champs for 2021. It's honestly halrious.
OD pixel casting like rap god
Also him: I'm speechless
The crashies rope is more funny than embarrassing but still happy to see it again
As a Dane, I'm just gonna pretend the reason 2 of the records on this list belongs to people from our very small country is over overrepresentation in esports as a whole.
I don't know the whole truth, but there were speculations that Solek was actually going through the alcohol addiction, which kinda makes that meme a little bit dark....
i thought 0 - 13 in a first to 10 perfect legend is included here.
Holy shit you guys remembered dota 2 exists.
Good video 👍🏻
Me and the Boys are coming for that 42-0 record
NA has a couple of historic LoL fail records in Worlds. 0-10 as a region back in the day i think and TSM 0-6 being the 1st ever #1 seed to go winless in groups. That one made Bjerg and Doublelift BOTH retire 😂😂😂
2nd Record isn't embarrassing at all. They held the Enemy teams attack for 80 minutes despite being at 150K gold disadvantage. They are the 300 Spartans, fighting overwhelming forces, but destined to lose. Losing with an advantage is embarrassing.
yeah i was thinking the same
NA going 0/18 at league worlds. Calling it now
Those 0:20 power spikes always get the enemy, every game
I was wondering where team siren was for a moment until I realised they at least got disbanded where these guys are still getting trashed harder than a pub game in SEA.
I still remember the female team that got completely toasted in like 10-12 minutes in a professional game, trying in league of legends.
Shanghai Number 1
Finally, a Dota 2 content was included. 😁
IG vs SKT T1 at Msi 2019 with a 15:57 minutes game was pretty rough or G2 vs TL finals where they set the fastest record for International Bo5 and crushing NA to the fullest
Surprised the SKT match wasnt there. The score esports dont usually miss a chance to put Faker in the video
welp, you should add 3-0 Tundra vs Secret in TI 11 lol. Completely rolled in grandfinal
I believe the shortest round outside of pro cs was scream 1 deagle oenta down dust 2
Shanghai Dragon 42 losing streak just shows us how ridiculous franchise system can be. If you don't have the proper lineup, in a qualifier based system you will be simply eliminated instead of creating such an embarrassing record.
Some of these were good like Maelk and the dragons. But I feel like you could find better ones for a couple others. Wheres Perfect Legends 0-13 in a first to 10?
Imagine if it was an alch game
Lol "team effort" then the subsequent clip. I about choked
Shanghai record is just sad
Even the win looks sad
Ok but holding out for 80 minutes with a 154k gold deficit is actually very impressive
Shanghai now has won several regional APAC tournament titles and is the reigning OWL champion.
i guess you guys forgot about 100t losing 0-13 to the gaurd 💀
Hunden vs Hooxi, that's one for the ages
One of the most memorable embarrasing Dota2 moment is when kyxy denied the aegis. So everytime there will be an accidental deny of the aegis it will be called kyxy.
"check out our merch, link in the description" bruh there's no link to a store in the description.
i was thinking that 0 - 20 dota 2 was a whole team not the Individual
because in DotA 2 beaten by a team who has 0 kills really2 embarassing
Just wait until NA goes 0-18 at worlds this year, this will go down in history and the memes will be lit
154 gold lead. wth is that? is that possible?
Perfect Legend 13-0
Perfect 13gend.
there was a game c9 vs astralis in csgo where c9 player nafany had 1/23 score
Thunder Predator TI10 run
Question is: Is it worse to have a 0-43 record or be the team that loses to them? Hmmmmmm
rain doesn't deserve to be the thumbnail. Sadge 🤣
Crazy how Karrigan is #2 worse K/D 😆 ironic
Any clip of Eternal Envy from dota2 can be added on this list
I dont even get how u can play big pro matches if u have a losing streak of 42...
How embarrassing for Boston Uprising to lose to a Shanghai team that was 0-42.
I feel like a team shouldnt be able to go 0-40 in a league like that, it just means it should be a league below if that exists, or rather just not in the league. It kind of makes a whole competitor in the league irrelevant, might aswell be a team of random ranked teammates lmao.
Shanghai might have been 0-42 but they won champs a couple years later so all is forgiven 🤷🏻♂️
i confuse, 154k lead yet they still reach 80 minutes
how the hell did that happen? 154k gold lead? what?
Thunder Predator The International 2021 0-16 absolutely disappointing, worse is, all south american teams that TI went home the earliest
The fact that you guys are making a video about it, just rub salt into their wound.
I think we all remember the best application used in a pro match ever.
The legendary
Word.exe
She did not say Shanghai right at all
why is this in he starcraft playlist
6:24 we were loosing like 9 to 4, or 11 to 5.... somewhere in that range
we ended up force buying mostly P-90s and rushing mid (as CTs)
.
it worked.... they had NO IDEA what was going on
pure shock and awe..... their TIGHT teamwork fell apart (4 man team AT LEAST)
.
.
it kinda set them on the "back foot" so bad.... we got the next 2 rounds
they got 1..... we got 3 or 4
they got 1.... we got 2 or 3
ETC
.
we eventually won 12 to 16
.
whole teams "vibe" was just great from the start
we were not as skilled..... but we were making jokes and flashing eachother out even at the darkest points
.
.
moral is important in pubs
Best worst esports moments pls
The 6 second round is not embarrasing, they're intentionally giving the round quickly because they are on a full eco. They didn't but anything that round
Yeah particularly back then it was pretty common to just swarm one part of the map on full ecos and see if you could overwhelm a player or two and inflict a little economic damage. They're played differently now, but at the time that was not at all uncommon tactically, granted going 5 people through mid doors particularly on that version of Dust2 is usually a bad idea since what happened in the clip is pretty much what would happen most of the time.
@@Falllll they're throwing the round because its a waste of time
That was fun. So I just wanna know about the CSGO player to ever got the 1st 007. Thx in adv.
The hostess has the same facial mannerisms as Dimitri Pascaluta, I was sure they are siblings...
the rush mid strat they literally didnt't buy anything.
How is that "embarrasing" lol.
Oh dear god. I'd kill myself id I'd lose against the Dragons
Everyone prononig hunden wrong is the danish for dog
alliance losing to a bunch of streamers in literal TI quals is kinda embarassing
1:28 This is what happens whenever I play csgo.
Who else thought its gonna be a B rush on dust 2 at 6:12
yes, was my very first thought... but to be realistic, it takes longer than 8 seconds to walk there
there are alot places that can absolutely destroy enemy teams if they aren't carefulls/good enough (A-long/gate etc)
Dragons were the only Chinese org in Season 1 and were still the last of the current 4 to secure their first win.
8:19 ".....dragons just trying to stay alive......."
.
more than you know dude..... their whole family-ies are probably dead right now
erased, stalin mode
Before becoming a cameraman hunden was even better than hooxi
I bet i could beat that 8.38 second round with Elisabeth.
putting rain on thumbnail for a 8 sec eco round loss is just straight up buzzfeed bullshit.
There is a match in dota 2 where a filipino team got 0 score in a match. 0-22 against chinese team i think.
Thunder Predator reach 0-16 (Losing all their games) in TI (world tournament) This is the worst team in dota 2 TI history.
So no talking about Vaevictis all female team? Because lets be honest Maelks game was not embarrassing at all. He played 5th slot(Support veno DONT get many if any kills since his ulti is unable to kill).
Love how the score only mentions overwatch in these lists when it’s to say something bad
yea they're definitely supposed to make a video about the most embarrassing records without mentioning 0-42
you gotta be stupid
Activision blizzard
9:30 thats me, Im the 3 and 17 chamber.
The Dragons were so awful mostly because of corruption, actually. China only got 1 spot in the first season of the OWL, and for reasons they decided to not get the top CHinese team (Miraculous Youngsters) and instead got a 2nd-rate Chinese team at a time when Koreans were running the OWL. Their coaching was a huge problem too, and even when they started picking up new players after their godawful start to the year they still couldn't get anything to work.
After the roster-lock came in they were stuck with a sub-part roster consisting of some mediocre Chinese talent and some decent Korean pieces (including Fearless, who would go on to be a top-tier tank player in years to come), and couldn't manage to squeeze out a single win that season. Afterwards they basically fired most of their roster and got top Korean Talent, went on to win an event with their new roster after a shaky start where their main player got stuck in VISA hell in what is still probably the best event in OW Competitive Esports.
These days the franchise has a net positive win rate, as in the last 3 years they've been the best team in Asia and at least Top-2 overall for most of the time since.
Competitive overwatch looks worse than competitive league. Thats a pretty low bar to trip on
Me who have a 30+ lose streak in League . Does that count
