TV Station IDs during 1976 (+ news intros)

- No major event that I know that happened this year, just that there are likeable aesthetics for this year. This shows the animation logos of TV channels and news programs around the world at the time. Also featuring "PBS logo demo circa 1976" since there was a numberable amount of logos for the network, along with ITV region idents.
None of the content shown are owned by me, besides the visuals of the 2 custom intros and the outro. They all belong to their respective owners. No monetization is made off this video, and it is only for educational purposes only to present how TV broadcasting companies identified themselves as at the time.

RIP miss Barbara Walters. Such a fascinating news reporter she will be greatly missed.
4:05 GET OUT. LEAVE IMMEDIATELY
What a funky bunch of idents. Peak 1970s.
In case you guy didn't know, in 15:30, Rede Tupi was the first commercial television from Brazil. Unfortunately, the dictatorship of Brazil force Rede Tupi to cease broadcasting in 1980. R.I.P, Rede Tupi.
In fact, Rede Tupi had its concession revoked due to the mismanagement of the so-called Diários Associados, which ran nine other TV stations at the end of the 1970s. Of these nine, seven stations closed their doors on July 18, 1980.
Brazil's government really hated Rede Tupi much.
i really love these 1970s idents!! i would love to see

I love how the narrator in CBS News says Saigon
saigon
Thank you for this; most interesting it is of course too. Particularly the old British ones so too. Well done!

Music for the "TV Station IDs during 1976 (+ news intros)" Intro is HBO 1975.
20:06 this must be 1975-1986
2:18 That "11" in the WTTW logo looks more like the sun's eyes!!!
And it look more child-friendly for me.
Sunny 11 Eyes
Is it a good nickname or no?
i thought they _were_ eyes

19:27 the TVB of Doom!
02:02 - Love the KCET one. Reminds me of something you would hear towards the end of a good memorable dream; where you had been thinking about life ahead of you before walking up and tearing up a bit. 🥲
Also the KETC one reminds me of the audio from Steven Universe.
HEY THAT IS WHERE I LIVE!!!! LOS ANGELES!!!!!! CALIFORNIA!!!!!!
Accompanying it is the theme from M*A*S*H ("Suicide is Painless").
Wow I like these logos
First! Amazing job Iri! You're #1 than No.!
i'm right here you know :p
@@NoEntertainment LOL Only joking.
10:33 SO COOL! 😎
For the Maryland Center logo, the dates are actually 1970-1979 (from my own research at least)
KTLA 5 4:56
WTCG 17 5:26
July 4, 1976: The date that the United States celebrated its bicentennial. 200 years of the United States' independence from Britain (1776-1976).
You sound like you just discovered this.

1:08 RIP
Lots of scanimate, I love it!
After the WGN ID, you forgot the WGN Nightbeat intro which had the beautiful theme music
7:21 When Ashens starts with his stream about obscure 80s stuff.
11:34 I have a weird feel of nostalgia about this ID and the intro of Vremya, weird since I'm from Mexico and born after the USSR was long gone. Also, wouldn't be "Programme One" the correct name of the channel?
12:25 The ID of Moambe is like someone tried to replicate the soothing melody of Ulster TV's ID from the 60s and failed miserably.
13:45 I really wish someone gets a recording of 24 Horas just after the creation of Televisa since this intro is somewhat outdated because at that point Telesistema Mexicano (which had that logo at the beginning of the intro) had ceased to exist.
14:01 Kind of a bad thing it cuts just before the ID says that they broadcast "GREAT SERIES" while in the background it plays a beautiful bossa nova instrumental which I've been trying to identify for years, but that would make the ID a bit longer.
16:26 Oh yeah, plane's fucking exploding so we put a bombastic song.
18:01 A bit chilling ID considering that the Angolan Civil War was starting at that time.
16:15 and 16:27

14:11 oops NBC

The VARA ident was used from 1969 to 1976.
20:05 BBC (Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation) and City2 Television is now ABS-CBN

Kapamilya Forever
BBC-9 Zamboanga
CTV-12 Cotabato
20:26 If I remember correctly, the music in this logo is used in another logo.
That's American Egale Video, and it's fake.

That's also from 1970/71. No RTE logo from 1976?
I'm scary.?

@@pak8606 Blue and white tartan look?
@@anonUK I think so. That ident with the lion rampant was retired around April 1971.

There's no reason this one sound like a error 17:52
Anyone else get to 6:01 and immediately think of Mike Myers as "Simon," you cheeky bumlookers? Or expect "World at War" at 6:51?
only mistakes that i notice:
- forgot to change Yorkshire's location, they're based in Leeds.
- forgot to change HRT Dnevnik's name
- BBC2 (the Filipino one) ended in 1982
- The Maryland Center for Public Broadcasting dates (that were from the CLG Wiki) could be incorrect (see Alden Moeller's comment)
- KERA is from 1976
- The Cubavision logo is just Cubavision, it's not a news intro.
- The Algerian news intro is not from 1962, I was confused earlier when I looked at the compilation
KLRN is from san antonio
Also KWSU was from 1976
The intro at 9:21 is not for ARD's Tagesschau but for ZDF's Heute
Spain wasn't a NATO member until 1982.
You've forgot about logos of TVP1 and TVP2 (TVP1 was launched in 1952 as Telewizja Polska, later in 1963 was renamed into TV Polska, renamed into TVP1 in 1970, in 1975 into TP1, returned into previous (and actual) name in 1992. TVP2 was launched in 1970, in 2020, this channel celebrates 50th anniversary, it has a news programme since 1987, actual name since 1991 and, like TVP1, was named TP2 between 1975 and 1992) from 1970's and 1980's. Please do an update of 1991 one (TVP2's ident since 1986 until 1992, earliest recording of this ident is from 1987, TVP1's since 1989 'til 1992, add TVP2 Panorama intro from 1991 to 1992).
The WNET logo actually debuted in 1972.
Could you do 1978 or 1981 please? Thanks!
20:42 7 Network logo in 1975 has an irregular rainbow ring!
Great
15:05 that's the same theme from 24 Houras.
Oh wait it's Jornal Nacional that used it 1st.
24 Houras Taco Copy Dog
Can you do 2015?
13:44 this Mexican 24 horas music sound like the same used for Jornal Nacional 🇧🇷 in 1969.
Actually, is on 15:05 the brazilian one.
Ooh yeah the only Philippine Station ID in this video was BBC-2 or Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation now as Kapamilya Channel because some of them are lost like RPN-9, GTV-4(now known as PTV-4) and IBC-13
20:45 - Channel 9 used the American spelling of "color" rather than the British version "colour".
French TV-3 practically ripped off CBS' "eye" logo. The short-lived American UPN network also ripped off the CTV logo.
You will love many of the psychedelic style of many of these logos -- or you will hate them.
I don't think you have "eyes". FR3 and CBS's eyes don't look similar...
@@lesprit80-90s You're right, because FR3's eye had an hexagon inside it while the CBS eye's inside is round.
15:56 looks weird
8:20 the theme looks like 9TV's "Network News"* theme from 2014 to 2015 in the Philippines.
*9TV is now defunct from March 2015, replaced by their local CNN network in the Philippines.
What intro did you use for the opening titles?
Next for 1998. Years of economical crises.

BBC 2 station id? Until 1992? WRONG!!
You got that info from "WeHealAsOneProduction"? Well...
First of all, "WeHealAsOneProduction" production keeps spreading wrong information. If he said that station ID was until 1992, it's false. Why?
Because BBC 2 (not the British BBC 2) has been replaced by ABS-CBN since 1986 after the EDSA Revolution.
That BBC 2 Station ID maintained until the 80's when they rebranded as City 2 Television.
Second, that clip was from "flagwavecharacter" as far as I know.
So be careful of collecting information by checking its credibility next ti- oh wait nvm. You noticed the mistake. Thanks for correction.
Actually I don't think I got the information from that guy, I basically forgot to change the year there but ended up not noticing

No station ID's of GTV-4, RPN-9, IBC-13, BBC-2 and GMA-7 of the Philippines?
There is no GTV-4 Station ID During 1976. Only 1977. IBC-13 has no Station ID. Only in 1978. They Forgot to add. BBC-2 1975 And GMA-7 1975 Station ID.
