Fun sitting here by the fire at home watching you guys. I have worn out, not "damaged" out 3 sets of Silvey jacks and never once purposely put in an undercut before a jack seat. Many times the back lean was so bad that it would have been impossible to do the seat last.
But everything worked out just fine for you. Nothing more than an observation from an old faller. That's all.

    • @westcoastsaw1368

These were not bad learners at all just trying not to beat our guts out if we don’t have too
Most of those prolly didn’t need a jack at all but you know how it go’s as soon as you think “oh this one ain’t leaning too bad” and you don’t put the jack in that’s the one that ends up tricking ya 😆
You are right on the hard leaners we do put the seat in first too 👍thanks for watching enjoy that fire 👌

It’s weird watching people I know on tv even if it is just UA-cam. I cut with Garrett in 2020 only for a month as I was just up to visit but he’s a top hand that’s for sure. One of the best

I recall stories my father-in-law would tell about the first chain saw that came into the woods, with a stinger. He and his friend cut down one of the largest fir trees in oregon over by kings valley. Hard work and great men helped build Oregon. Enjoyed your video and watch the saw work that Garrett is doing. Thank you.

Gordy, I believe that you should look into making your own lightweight chainsaw bars, at least a prototype. Then do your cost analysis a figure out where you could realistically streamline it to be affordable for you and your customers both. It might be more hassle than it’s worth, but think about it regardless.
