How to transfer your games and saved data from PS4 to PS5

- You can also start this process from the PS5 main menu: go to Settings - System - System Software - Data Transfer - Continue. No need to do it with 2 TVs, you can just switch the TV input on 1 TV. The cable I used is called "Ethernet" cable, also commonly known as "Lan" cable.

For those wondering, no you don’t need 2 TVs to do the transfer. You can just connect the PS4 and PS5 to different HDMI ports on your TV and switch between HDMI sources as necessary to check what each console is doing.

@@internet2055 if you have ps plus, you can down load your saved data to the cloud from your ps4 then on your ps5, you can download it from the cloud to your ps5 storage

Hi Ale I have no idea if that will work Tbh. But if your button doesn't work it may be the only chance you have, try putting it on rest mode from the main menu instead of restarting it first

its not risky. its mainly just your saved game data. if you dont do it youll just start from scratch on any ps4 game youve played before. its just a data transfer its not even taxing on your system at all.

If your games are backed up you don’t need to do it this way. You can restore your PlayStation plus backups to your ps5 without your PS4 near.

You can turn this feature off on both controls to stop It taking over the channel when it boots off. It’s in settings.

@night fall I would because in my opinion it was a little bit easier but you don’t have to. You can also use a hard drive to collect all your data from the PS4 and then transfer it all to the PS5. A PS4 external hard drive can also store your PS4 games.
@night fall when transferring the data without the hard drive you have to transfer the data with a lan cable or with your WiFi and when you do this both systems need to be logged into the same account and they both need to be powered on in order to transfer the data.
