This video was abit long so if your reading this just connect cable go to settings on ps5 *make sure they are both connected to the same wifi* then once on settings go to system then data transfer and click continue and the rest is history (use common sense)

If you guys are doing exactly what he does, there shouldn’t be an issue. Buy the latest Ethernet cable CAT5 and up works fine. Both PS4 and PS5 are connected “together” with the Ethernet cable, connect both consoles to the same Wifi, start system data transfer, follow the prompts. You must be logged into the Same PSN on both consoles. You must update firmware’s on both. You must not turn off the power to both consoles (no sleep/Energy mode allowed)
If you are NORMAL human being with terrible Internet, then do not prioritise your WiFi over your LAN. It just makes you go through the whole process only for it not to complete the transfer. DO NOT USE WiFi unless you live in Silicon Valley.

I’m not sure if this will work for me or not. My husband and I have separate psn accounts. The ps4 NEVER lets me login with mine. Always gives me the new account screen. Even after he logged out AND deactivated the ps4 as his primary console. So I have game saves I’d really love to transfer over to ps5 but I’m getting thwarted every way I try. I tried a USB but ps4 wants me to login for that too. It’s like you can’t transfer anything if your not logged into PSN but ps4 doesn’t allow multiple accounts. My god, it was so much easier with memory cards back in the day.

Why the Ps5 not fully transfer the data in games? I transferred 2k23 Golf and my current golfer on PS4 was not transferred . It took me to a new golfer without my name. I am not overly impressed with the PS5. I really don't notice much difference in graphics.

@@owensarah7460 yo, I didn’t plug it in and I think it’s for the best not to, I ran the transfer overnight (so I left on both consoles) and it’s all good now; so personally I wouldn’t take the risk
FOR PEOPLE OF THE FUTURE : I also had this thought and went the other (more daring) route. I plugged the lan cable into my ps4 and connected it to my ps5 and the ps5 recognized the lan cable and the download speeds are definitely going faster now

@@crofty_92 you can either plug one into each(provided they are both connected to the same router) or you can connect one Ethernet cable from the ps5 to the Ps4

Why do you have the ethernet cable plugged in to the ps5 and nothing on the other end? Surely the way you are doing it is "wireless" I would think to do it via the cable you'd have to ug the other end in the ps4

It's worth it to note that you DO NOT need 2 tvs to do this. Just switch between the 2 hdmi connections on your TV.

Yes, transferring your data from your old PS4 to a PS5 is a helluva lot faster using a LAN/Ethernet cable rather than doing it via Wi-Fi

Totally safe to plug in during transfer. Ps5 recognizes connection in 30 seconds or less. If not just use pause all option and resume again.
