      Thanks for watching! Got a few more things to do before the headliner but it’s definitely on the list!

    I'm glad my stock '96 country edition has no rust. The paint is in decent condition, but does have a handful of spots were the paint is thin because of age. I would also say that being compact is a pro, because it's easier to park and maneuver around town as well. It's just an all around great vehicle. I've already taken it offroading, minor snow wheeling, roadtrips, around town driving, and it has done it all. No major problems, except if you do daily it, I would check the coolant level every month or so, because mine likes to go through coolant somewhat quickly.

      Slight flex on the no rust thing lol. But I agree that it’s definitely a super easy vehicle to maneuver around tight parking spots in an urban area because it is so compact. Great all around vehicle!

      @@KCars Well as far as I know it doesn't which is nice. There's just a few spots of surface rust above the driver door, and right above the back door where panels meet. So it's technically not completely rust free.

      @@WhynotMinot still sounds like it has minimal rust, which is super rare for these

    Can you give us your take on what the top price you'd want to pay today (Feb. 2023) for a refurbished, spotless rust-free 2001 XJ? And after that dollar figure, how much would you expect it to be worth say 5 years from now? I know there's plenty of variables and no exact guesses can be made, but curious about at what point (purchase price) is too much to pay. Tks. JR

    • @KCars
      @KCars  Рік тому

      Definitely a lot of variables for sure. In todays market for a perfect under 100k mile 2001 XJ id probably say that 10k would be a fair price (but they would definitely sell for a lot more to the right buyer) and would be worth around 15k in 5 years if maintained in the same condition. But if it has been actually refurbished and not completely original then it could be far more (Davis auto sports is a good example of that). I’ve seen them go for as much as $85k, check out my most recent video for that. Thanks for watching!

    I love the XJ except for the nuts and bolts salad mixing metric and SAE.
    For example you replace the starter there's no two bolts that use the same size wrench.
    And what's the reason for those 3 stupid 12 point bolts above the transmission bell housing? What? They ran out of normal hex bolts?

    We're do I find bumper caps as well as side doors plastic trim? Mine is faded, cracked. Tried the heat gun and colour restore to no avail. I have a 2001 Cherokee no rust except the hood from rock chip damage. 230,000 miles runs like new. Please and thank you.

    How much was it fix the rocker panels?

    • @KCars
      @KCars  Рік тому

      I didn’t get a breakout of the pricing but total for everything was $2400 and that includes inner and outer rocker panels on both sides, inner and outer rear lower quarter panels on both sides, descaling the rust from the underside and undercoating.
