  • In the current 2024-2025 NBA season, scoring 70 points in a single game remains one of the most challenging feats. By analyzing key statistics-points per game (PPG), minutes per game (MPG), and field goal attempts per game (FGA)-we can narrow down the players most likely to achieve this milestone. Historical data from previous 70-point performances shows that a combination of high usage rates, efficient scoring, and optimal game circumstances is crucial.
This season, standout candidates include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Nikola Jokić, who are averaging over 31 PPG while playing significant minutes and taking a substantial number of shots. Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant also emerge as potential contenders due to their scoring prowess and ability to dominate offensively on any given night.
These players not only possess elite scoring skills but also operate as primary options for their teams, making them more likely to find themselves in situations where a 70-point explosion could occur. By continuing to monitor their performances, usage rates, and game circumstances, we can better predict who will be the next to etch their name into the NBA history books.

Probability wise, yes, but understanding Jokic type of play he often refuses to break the 50 point mark and that's a huge break point in this type of cenario.
Look at Lillard, how often he scored 50+ before hitting the 70 mark? Much more than Jokic, that's for sure.
Usage rate not often translates to points. After all the analysis, Gianni's and SGA are the first options.
