Figuring out Electric Nylon w/ Electric Piano Pedal over a Blues

Figuring out an electric piano pedal through an electric nylon over a Blues. Almost like a classical guitar and a Rhodes had a baby :)
Thinking in terms of accompanying an electric guitar, singer, or other soloists -- trying to stay out their way (sitting somewhere between the bass player and guitar? Is that where an electric piano sits?)
The sound of the nylon is off right now with only the pedal's “keys" output coming through (it's on the "Suitcase" electric piano sound setting). It’s way way different than how the tracking of a guitar MIDI pickup feels.
Also, when you play guitaristic things it kind of sounds like an overdriven nylon guitar -- but when you try and play more as if the frets are keys on a keyboard, sometimes the crunchiness of the Rhodes come out. Then other times something in between. The pedal makes you play the strings differently.
