HES BACK! Seriously Rybonator, you were the person that got me into dice making, I saw your videos, and eventually started making dice. Now im about to start selling them! Thank you so much for introducing me to this wonderful hobby!
Same! I actually use his videos for instruction, especially the polishing tutorial at the moment. I'm not really ready to sell/make a business, except for some sets I made for friends.
I like to dye my molds and I change the color I use for each set that way I know which parts go together and it's easier to keep track of when I made a mold and how many sets came out of it.
@@Rybonator mica powder, I tried doing the alcohol ink and it didn't mix well. You can even mix a small batch of silicone with the powder and put colored dots or write with it and let it cure on a mold to help label it. Anything to help me make sure sets stay together.
@@Rybonator both my carpet and my space heater have blue stains from paint lol.. and I dropped gold mica the other day after making a set of gold dic. Thought if you when I made them an posted them on FB lol
yo you should try talcum powder for the mould relese it works wonders for me and its super easy to get off the dice if you do get it on it and even then if you brush it off to have a thin layer even if it gets on the dice it dosent even really effect the outcome
Great to see you back and making dice again. I’m also happy to watch you once again find a way to fit gold in somewhere, even if it’s not in the dice or inked on Twintig. I do enjoy the gold mold. It looks cool. I’m excited for the future videos!
I've started my dice making journey right after you posted your last video. I gotten a lot better over time and especially after consuming all of the dice content on this channel and on others. I've been praying for the comeback, and my prayers have been answered!
Hey man you're back ❤ I was just looking at your channel an hour ago wondering when we'll see you again and voila 😁😁👍 Hope you are well 😀 And wow what a collaboration....look forward to these videos 👌
I think the painting youre talking about is 'The Great Wave of Kanaga' by Hokusai. Its actually not a painting, but traditional japanese block print. There are tons of them out there because Hokusai made it durring the orientalism movement, so they were designed to appeal to westerners and tourists.
By the way, where did you get that wheel/table thingy that you sand your dice on? I've been meaning to get back into stonework but I wanted to have a wheel like yours to sand flat portions of my pieces without needing a full on belt sander and without killing my arm with repetitive motion.
What an amazing surprise, welcome back! Just today my new resin 3D printer arrived and I was so excited to make my dice masters with the files you kindly provided! I have to thank you for the models and all the inspiration you always bring.
The timing of you coming back is exceptional. I literally just got a bunch of supplies ready to get back into dice making, all I need now is for my pressure pot to actually be air tight...
The white splotches on the black background looks a lot like snowflake obsidian. Have you ever watched any cold-process soap making videos? A lot of the techniques are similar, and you're even using some of the same materials: Mad Micas, for example.
If you can get your hands on paper dixie cups with a beveled bottom, you can cut out the inner bottom and still be left with a nice solid even edge that will need less silicone than if you flipped it over and used the top. The hot glue gun is absolutely necessary, I've made the mistake of not using it and it is a special kind of hell
love you video's you have inspired me to start making dice too and i love it! i hope to become good enough and open my own little etsy shop at some point. wish you the best and good luck with the little one. lot of love from the netherlands
Have you ever looked into a way to make dice from something like recycled bottle caps or astic bags? It would be a really cool project for people to get into!!!
I get really confused with this, I thought one vid had the pressure pot giving you weird results, so you switched to a vacuum chamber? Have you re-jigged the pressure pot to stop it making the dice go fuzzy (I think that’s what the problem was) 😅 I nearly got a vac chamber last week and kinda glad I held off now🙏
Yeah so both can work- but pressure pot is king! That was a bunch of old vids where I used a vacuum chamber- a pressure pot can do both jobs, but a vacuum chamber can only really help with the silicone. You can simply cast the silicone in the pressure pot at a higher psi than you cast your resin. Ex- cast your silicone at 45psi, and do all your resin between 30-45 :)
@@Rybonator Thank you SO much for replying bro ! My results aren't great without using any form of pressure/vaccuum device - and the pressure pots are like 1/2 the price of the vac chambers here in the UK. Apologies for the mixup, I guess I haven't been watching the vids in order ! Did you ever find out what made the resin set weird in the pressure pot that one time? I'm guessing there was a lot of playing with valves and such :)
Hey Rybo! You inspired me to take the hobby of dice making and now im making a dice customization app for people to mix and mash different types, colors, fonts, etc to make their perfect dice and then i can make it for them. Would you like to give it a look sometime and give me some tips?
Genuine question: Why do you use the slab mold? It seems incredibly wasteful compared to making cup molds And just so i dont end this on a sour note: we missed you dice goblin king! May the light of shiny gold ever light your path!😊
No sour note at all! Slab molds are extremely convenient (storage takes up less space, they actually use less silicone overall, and you can fit more in a pressure pot if you make them right.). However, their downside is if one of the die in the mold fail, then the WHOLE THING fails. Which sucks haaaaard. Missed you all more!
