Bill's Tools
United States
Приєднався 6 лют 2018
I use tools as an HVAC/ Generator mechanic. Here I show some tools I purchase, review the tools after several months of using them. I also repair tools and maintain the tools I own. Also, I will post videos of auto repair and DIY work. If you want a review on a tool the just came out, You won't find it here. If you want to know what I think of a tool I use and have been using. That you will find here. I believe that tool review videos influence others to make purchases. I don't want to be responsible for you buying a tool you hate. I also will be doing some tool restoration projects. If you like watching HVAC repairs my other channel is The HVAC Hacker
Milwaukee M18 Fuel Quick-Lok Pole Saw Attachment Vs Medium Size Tree
I amCutting down a medium size tree in the middle of my yard. I’m going to be put in a pool here. I am going to be using the Milwaukee M 18 fuel quick-lol pole saw attachment. It easily cuts through the branches, and the trunk of the tree. It may not have as much power as a gasoline pole saw or a chainsaw. Yet for how often I need it it makes a great tool for a homeowner.

Can Scissor Jack Lift Cement Walkway
Переглядів 1,7 тис.3 роки тому
I want to lift my walkway and level it. The walkway cracked and sunk due to a broken downspout drainpipe. It collapsed and crushed the pipe. I sent a galvanized pipe through to run sprinkler pipe under walkway. Then put two 90degree 1/4” thick steel bars around the galvanized pipe for added support. I used a couple pieces of flat metal on top of that to stabilize the jack. Then I jack up the wa...

Leaking Bathtub Drain Repair
Переглядів 94 тис.4 роки тому
My bathtub drain leaks. I cut open the ceiling to expose the drain pipes for the bathtub. I found that someone created a gasket with plumbers putty along with a tub drain gasket. The putty gasket with vibrations from the jacuzzi jets obviously couldn't create a good seal. Therefore I remove the tub gasket and all the putty. I have a thicker tub gasket and install. The tub is sealed. I fill with...

Replacing My Lawn Mower Blade
Переглядів 1064 роки тому
I bought a new blade for my lawn mower. This mower is an older Sears Craftsman lawnmower. I was given this lawnmower for free from a friend. The mower had a pully issue. The pully I was able to clean, oil to free up and start the mower. Therefore I am replacing the old mower blade. I reinstall the new blade with 45 foot-pounds of torque. The mower gave my lawn a nice cut afterward.

I am unboxing and setting up my new Harbor Freight CoverPro 10 x 10 Heavy Duty Canopy with Straight Legs. I use canopies often at work. A pop-up canopy creates shelter while working outside from the sun, rain, or snow. The straight legs provide 100 square feet. The CoverPro heavy-duty 10 ft. x 10 ft. straight leg pop-up canopy weight almost 60 pounds. This makes it heavier than my previous cano...

Thank You Sir for posting. Most of the other posts use the plug in light bulb which is fairly basic. I unscrewed the barrel thinking the bulb holder would come out the top but was unsuccessful. searched yt and finally found yours and quickly realized it had to go out the back. of course the most expensive duracell batteries leaked again 3 years before their eos date (and ya the batteries were out of the same package with the same eos date)...amazing how they have everyone fooled they have the best batteries (I guess expensive advertising pays off)... Thanks again, you the man.....
I’ve a two pair of stanly fat max 14 years now still going used every day to put granite kitchen work tops on and I mean slabs still going as strong as the day I got them
I have a neighbor who’s also doing projects on public sidewalks, causing mothers with strollers and kids with tricycles to walk on the road so they don’t have to get in trouble with an important insensitive contractor that really doesn’t know what’s their problem and bothering them so much..
Starting the car , it is never , ever ever turning the car on x drag racer
Hello, what size is the maguera and where do I get it?
The end screw seized itself on my flashlight. Now its dead forever
Around the 14:50 mark in the video What is the buzzing noise caused from when you first start up "bleed" new valve
I've had mine for over 4 years. Still works great! I charged it last about a year ago. It still had full charge. I tested it and charged my phone and tablet. I'm going to charge the power bank again, and I know it's reliable for coming travels. Edit: I do not use this regularly. I carry it for emergencyies, when I'm hiking or traveling, but don't always need to use it.
👀
Hi, where did u get the pieces for replacement? I cant find them
What you just showed me is that there is no way I can do this by myself. I don't know where they get the "pop" in Pop-up.
Awesome job and video, thanks for sharing

I never put teeth on brass
As mentioned above by a few..they are right..if it doesn't have a valve at the cill head ...
My installers put a vent on one side and the clean out on the other.. You have to leave a vent uncovered for it to work.. From the numerous videos out there on this subject, there appears to be no standard.. I personally think it's a poor design to eliminate the additional drain line in favor of a float.. We never had one clog in 22 years, and since this new system was installed, it has clogged twice in just over one year. With my old system, I would have had water in the garage, with this set up, the system shuts completely off and I have to go unclog the line to get A/C working again.. And it always happens in the middle of the night. With my system being in the attic, it's a real pain to have to go up there and clear the issue, installing one of the flush out type things isn't an option for me because it drains into a drain downstairs and I would have to take a hose upstairs and risk water leaking all over the place, making matters worse.
I thought of this too, but it will leak. I have this problem on a boat trailer. Needs to be sealed. I may try to use a cone and a hammer to try to widen it a bit
Let me add another thumbs up for this video. I too had a working AC that wouldn't blow out of the vents, even though the Heat would blow out the vents. After finding this video and watching it I figured that was my problem. My doghouse and engine cover on my 1999 Astro van were slightly different than shown in the video, but I still got them off. The covers are VERY tight to the space and I was never able to get the engine cover all the way out. Plus the nipple of the vac hose is VERY awkward to reach, but it's doable and it is in the location he indicates. I was hoping that I'd find a broken or disconnected tube as he did, but instead I found a completely intact hard plastic tube and two intact rubber l-shaped nipples. Crestfallen, I thought I had not found the problem. I snipped them about two inches from each end and tested them underwater. It looked good, but I replaced it anyway using a much smaller hose than the one he uses in the video. It worked. I'm not sure why, the other one must have had some unseen leaks somewhere, maybe at the nipples? I dunno, all I can say is if you have this problem, replace the whole hose.
Picked mine up 2 hours ago.......had to call in my brother to help stretch the frame. Mine also had different setup for the corner velcros......
pls help , any one know what is the name of that Led light, thx
Hi, where can I buy the LED replacement? What page do you recommend?
What size is the screw bolt you replaced ?
On my '07 Camry it is: M12-1.50 (Dorman part #610-266.1)
@@johndavid3598 thank you I picked up a couple
Which Knipex pliers do you recommend for home use? Knipex 250 or 300.
I want to thank you for your help
Very helpful. Thank you.
Mine are tight as hell had to drive them on and still keep flying off
The video did not show how to prevent clogged ac lines. Misleading title.
Doing this prevents the drain line from clogging. This needs to be done annually
@@billstools5244 No, it does not.
Knipex ist nicht nur ein Werkzeug, es ist Liebe ❤ für ein Werkzeug... Deutsche Wertarbeit... Made in Germany 🇩🇪... Werkzeug mit Idee und Innovation... Knipex I love it... 💕
What country is it made in?
Hello, I would like to ask a honest question because I’m new at this. Using staybrite 8 silver solder will hold the pressure of any refrigerant in Hvacc jobs ? Have you had any problems? And the reason I ask, is because is easier to work with this material than using silver rods 15 % silver and I want to make my journey as smooth as possible 😅 Thanks man
Too many things wrong. A halfway hack job.
after removing it , you should hand tighten filter , so you won't need a tool anymore
If one is doing mechanic "homework" (not for a living) Pittsburg tools are fine. Ratchets and breaker bars are fine, just buy the heavier impact sockets to use with them. The torque wrenches are the best deal. Take care of them and just take them back when they wear out, they are just as accurate as "some" high dollar tools and will often last the "home only" user a lifetime with genuinely useable accuracy. If I made my living and fed my kids using tools like these, I might be pickier, but I don't. 90% of the time a brand like Pittsburg will do the home mechanic like me just fine, and often for a lifetime. There will be exceptions, but exceptions are rare, that's why they are called exceptions. I just wish every company would make bulletproof screwdrivers. Well actually, I just wish EVERYTHING would instantly convert to Allen or Torx drive lol. They wear out but not like flathead or Phillips do.
Yoir video is great !!! ¿How did you bought the replacement?
Is the ratchet on off or on?
Damn it! That’s exactly what’s wrong with mine. Damn! I will need to make my hole bigger to get in there. I was hoping it would be a simple fix. What’s that tool called to unscrew the drain?
RIDGID EZ Change Faucet Tool
buy a tub wrench and use channel locks to tight the drain down. Also, do NOT put plumbers puddy where the damn tub gasket goes
I have one of these. Because of the way it takes temperature you will never get the accuracy of direct physical contact. Hey, I bought it because it was cheap, I'm a gadget freak and It works great for checking cooking surfaces on the barbeque and the laser is great if you have cats😅 When I was a kid I saw this cartoon of a meteorologist sitting in his office surrounded by computers, charts, communication equipment and at the same time........he had his big toe sticking out the window.😊
The joy of removing the infamous Astro dog house. 🙈
I know I’m going to sound like an old mother hen here, but finger puncture wounds that are seemingly minor can turn into a serious infection very rapidly. I know this from experience. I got a small puncture wound from a rose bush thorn. Didn’t hurt when it happened and very little blood so I ignored it and continued working. After about a hour, my entire hand swelled up like a balloon and looked cartoonish. Went to emergency room and saw a hand specialist. Had to get admitted and put on a high dosage antibiotic IV to counter the real possibility of sepsis. Everything turned out OK after a few days in hospital. Lesson for me is don’t ignore those “minor” puncture wounds!
How many times must you harpoon yourself before you decide on using something other than your hand for holding that brass nut?
How do I look for the replacement? I can’t find it on the official website, how can I order it?
I've seen less grease used in a greased pig race
I'm so glad my A/C unit is in my garage. If it leaks (and it has many times), it will not damage my house. Everything is easy to get to. I can easily disconnect the pipe and use the pressure from my water hose to clean it out. What you just did would never work for me. Putting the A/C in the attic is just so stupid.
Ty for your video I was searching everywhere for instructions and the first time we use it today so I really appreciate your video. Help me a lot. Have a good day 😊
Thank 👍🏻🙏🙏
Changed the oil on a 2015 honda civic recently. The oil filter wasn't on super tight after all, but is located on the underside of the engine and surrounded by other components so hard to get to. Tried an oil filter wrench which just slipped when I applied torque. This filter wrench style got it off very easily. Thanks for the video.
You just needed to reseal it with plumbers putty no need to cut the ceiling open
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I appreciate it. Keep up the good work.
