Good job to this group who made it (Jota Manilena).
Why??
THIS COMMENT IS GOLD 🏅 I agree with you wholeheartedly as being a Filipino born and raised in Mindanao. I rather choose the Maria Clara Suite and Pista sa Nayon Folk Dances rather than... you know. I don't see any tribal dances in Europe, Latin America, Russia or East Asian countries. Bring back the gentlemen and lady-like sophisticated lifestyle of Filipinos that we inherited from Spaniards in 16th to 19th centuries!!!
Colonial mentality.....wired mindset...there are countless dances....it only shows the diverse cultural heritage that we have....its 7100 islands ...think...and be free...
As a folk dancer and an enthusiast of Philippine Folk Dance, I have to say that all Philippine Folk Dances should be showcased all over the world, not just the Western-influenced or as some call it the Maria Clara Suite. As Filipinos, we should be the ones who appreciate all aspects of our own culture more than anybody else. 🙄
The purpose of the dance is to represent the Philippines hindi para magbida-Bida at magpasiklab. Jotas in the Philippines means to honour the respective town not acrobatics.
You can see the influence of flamenco in this dance. Truly, hispanic.
It is spelled Jota Manileña (also known as Jota de Manila). I heard the original music to this dance had accompanying Spanish lyrics, not sure though.
Where are the hats? The hats make the performance looked more regal.
No sounds?
ang ganda
Gumanda sa bahaging pumasok na magagandang Filipina very very charming with brown skin and jet black hair & eyes.

It's not Joia... It is " Jota" pronounced as " ho-ta".

The opposite. People like you are ashamed of Maria Clara dances. You only like bahag dances.
@@singkilfilipinas5574 So you're saying you're ashamed of our indigenous Filipinos? And with that kind of username? What a dumbass.
Boring!
