really nice old clocks have this mechanism. the concept can also be in 2D to fit within fine old pocket watches where the shaft with a flywheel rotates within a coil spring for the timing
Interesting. So, if I replace the elastic band with an Arduino controlled BLDC motor (to control weather spinning or staying) I could in theory make an electronic one that would not depend on the rubber band? I could sense weather the contact is made between the ball and the pole by means of using an electrically conductive cable, poles, and my Arduino. It should be normally tied to ground, but connected to Vcc whenever contact is made. I guess it could be connected the other way around too. Then, the BLDC should be made to spin only when contact is not made!
But when the ball unravels, it pushes against the direction of rubber band tension, creating chaotic movement. Could this be fixed to the same direction somehow? Other than that it acts nicely.
According to Newton 3rd Law For Every Action, there is opposite equal & opposite Reaction, here this pendulum working on same principle, This is Basic idea, on this base we can go for next step innovation, Nice Innovative video sir.
You are man of science. We salute you!
Another great vid, thanks for sharing

Great idea !
Great mate, simply clever, the kids can make it easily, thank you
man you are awesome. you always got new ideas. thank you sir.
Interesting.

Victor Rivarola its whether not weather

There is a clock in the Leonardo Da Vinci museum in Rome that is powered and controlled by the same flying pendulum

Really nice!
What is this sorcery?
How many link of mechanisms are here in this project can some tell me
mecanismo bem pensado Parabéns muito bom vou tentar fazer
Ball does not keep its momentum, any solution?
how long does it spin for?
I'm wondering as well. As a kid I accidentally built something similar, this video brings back some memories.
Put a stopwatch on this : )
ma shaa allah ..thats very important
tenias un canal en español?
listening to that intro in headphones gave me shock.
I did it thank you so much...
Thank you Leonardo da Vinci
Does it spin upto infinity ?
To infinity and beyond
Thanks for reply sir, is there a justification or it is just an illusion.
Cool
This man films in the Amazonian part of a zoo
ikr XD
Muito Bom m
It is really fake
Cool
