  • Never did I thought of filming vintage tech until COVID-19 struck which locked everyone behind the doors. Binge watching UA-cam during lockdown, I came across Retro-tech series by Marques Brownlee; an American UA-camr. His videos made me so nostalgic that I started digging my wardrobe for all the vintage electronic equipments I have. Being crazy about cameras since childhood, I decided to film and upload this video first in the vintage tech series.
This is the Hotshot 35 which was manufactured by Mumbai-based Photophone Ltd in the early 1980’s. The company produced the camera in 110 mm and 35 mm formats, as well as flash units and film rolls.
Hotshot 35 came in 2 different variants; one with flash and one without flash.
The 110mm offered 24 snaps per cartridge but this 35mm could shoot 36-38 frames.
    Specs:
    Company: Photophone Limited
    Country of origin: India
    Year of manufacture: 1980
    Type: Point and shoot
    Storage: Film roll
    Film type: 35mm
    Max supported exposes: 38
    Aperture: 1:3.8
    ISO: 100-1000

HOTSHOT 35MM; a synonym for simplicity that changed the entire dynamics of photography.
