      I got mine for 11k a few weeks ago and I'm loving it (first car of my own!). It's styling has aged better than it's BMW and Mercedes Rivals, and has LOTS of power.

      It's holding up very well! The car is nice and smooth, and I've not run into any mechanical issues. I did get a light telling me to give it some oil so I poured in a quart of (5w-40) and it went away. Though the car hasn't seen many miles from me so far (maybe 1500miles since purchased), but it with also had about 97K miles on it already. I just bought a cold air intake (to bring out the sound of the supercharger whine) and I'll likely get it next week. The car is fast and I feel very happy with my decision. I would recommend it, though try to get one with the B&O audio system, as the base and Bose speakers are very underwhelming imo. Premium and Premium Plus trims have the base speakers, while the prestige trims come with Bose or B&O speakers.
      I did a bunch of research before buying this car and from what I found the supercharged "3.0T" motor is seen as the most 'reliable' Audi motor on the forums, and it has great potential from tunes. A ($1k) stage 1 APR ECU tune can bring it up to 433hp without any other upgrades and that only makes the car faster. I'm not yet in a financial position to tune the car but I think I might in a year or two.

    Nice car. It is 10-12K cheaper than a comparably equipped BMW 5 series. You cannot get any loaded car in this class for less than $60K anymore. This car's interior is awesome in comparison to any competitor.

      Best car in its class. If you take the overall EVERYTHING. I just sold my A6 and the new owner is ridiculously happy with it as their second car, young couple just starting out. I had a 2013 and the car was incredible. Only maintenance done to it. Nothing ever broke or went wrong in 140K. The usual tires, brakes, tune up etc. Bulletproof and reliable. ANY, and I mean ANY of my friends who bought BMW 5 series , E class Mercedes ALL had multiple repairs, issues and definitely was NOT even close to the reliability of these cars. My advice for any used one now. Make sure it was maintained by Audi and ALL of the Maintence was done on a regular basis. If you maintain these cars properly there is no reason they should not last. I kept buying the Audi Care after the initial 3 years and EVERYTHING was done by Audi. I DID my brakes myself, tires I went elsewhere etc. I enjoy working on cars but time and because there are lots of little Maintence items I felt the Audi care at $769 for two years of service is MORE than worth it. They DO EVERYTHING. Belts, filters, spark plugs, fluid flushes, brake flushes ( every 2 years) regardless of milage and the list goes on. They basically keep the car running like new. They change everything. Next up the Q7! Hope to have the same story 8 years from now!!

    Mark my words: if you are shopping in this segment, go buy this car now.
    A6 is priced 5k lower because Audi wants to challenge the E class and 5 series, my S4 which has considerably less cool gadgets and worse interiors is actually more expensive than A6. In a few years, expect Audi to bump up the price.

      I just saw a tuned video stock vs the stage 1 tune. The guy did a great job. He tested the tuned car. Same road, same outside temp and did the same acceleration runs. Then reset and took back to factory and did the same runs. The tune was superior is all aspects. I mean not to the point that it would be a veto vs a kia but definitely better response and the speeds were up by 12-14 mph through all runs but the 100mph, 120 and 130 mph marks. That tune looks to be a great one for a reasonable price.

  • @renshoota
    @renshoota 12 років тому

    @incediery True, it does not have to be and LED based lighting system but if we think to design such a system then LEDs are the best way to go. So it's sort of convergent technology solutions. I'm sure if Xenons were as simple and cost effective somebody would have thought of doing the same. I'm not saying that Audi's daytime lights are not the best by a long shot, but I'm just saying that LEDs are the solution of choice and so more manufacturers will turn to that. It's just economics.

    It would be between 50-60K depending on options. But I'd rather pay that and get a supercharged V6, rather than shell out $42,600 for a crappy 4 banger that probably doesn't get any better fuel economy.

    @incediery Day time running lights are just new to the U.S. They will become mandatory by law in the E.U. very soon. So it's more on that end why you see them on more cars now a days.

    Just bought a left over 2013 Premium during a local dealer's presidents day sale ($49K). It was between this one and the Mercedes 300. The A6 was so much nicer. The Merc seemed a bit old fashioned. The A6 (3.0T) was also much faster and with the drive select, it's like owning about 3 or 4 different cars. I'm trying not to sound like I'm starting with you or anything, but if you want to hear the car, exhaust, engine and road noise, they might as well not talk either. This show has been successful for over 30 years now, so they must be doing it right. Otherwise the show would have been canceled a long time ago. It's extremely hard to have a successful television show last five years, much less 30+ years. I think it would sound strange without the background music... Almost like getting rid of background music in a movie. IDK, it's never bothered me and I've been watching this show since the beginning of the 1984 season, and I have never missed an episode. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion obviously. Again, sorry it if seems like I was trying to be a start an argument with you. I was just speaking my opinion like you did. No hard feelings man.

      You can get a used 2012 3.0T A6 for half the price of a 2020 V6 camry, so I don't think the comparison is very fair.
      A similarly priced used V6 camry is nowhere near the A6. I know because I tried one and it was very underwhelming. The engine has similar horsepower/weight yes but its limited by being FWD and having a transmission tuned for economy. The 2020 Camry V6 has a 0-60 of 5.8s when the 2012 3.0T A6 does it in 4.8s, and that's a pretty big difference.

      Like Lexus does with the ES350? Lol. The A6 is totally different and the average Audi, BMW, Merc owner don't even care what it looks like. They just see the badge. Why else does BMW sell so many cars? They all have cheap interiors, the new F-chassis cars aren't great drivers anymore, and they are way overpriced. A poll of owners thought their cars were FWD too. That's why BMW continued to make their products less fun, sharp, and high quality because they know they can make junk like the 2-series active tourer and people will buy it.

      I have a 2013 Passat and a 2012 a6. Some similarities in appearance and that is where it starts and stops. They are completely different cars from their level of comfort to their acceleration and handling. While the Passat (3.6) accelerates and handles well, its' nowhere close to the a6 (3.0) in these categories.
