+mountainhobo That's because the 4cyl is the newly revised engine. The 3.0T is unaltered other than a reflash giving it the same 333hp it had in the S4/S5. To answer your question, fuel economy on the 3.0T is 20mpg city and 28mpg highway.
I own a 2012 A6 Prestige with 3.0T and I can say from 1st hand experience it certainly does. On longer, back road highways where you're cruising at more like 45-60mph, the car will exceed those number without a problem.
55k is cheap for an midsize luxury sedan! My dad's BMW 328d was 56k. The main competitor for the A6 2.0t is the 528i and the BMW 528i is way more than 55k.
Matthew Shipley Never buy new... I can get a 528XI (AWD) 2008 for the same price as a civic SI 2008 with the same mileage!!! Wait a few years and get it for less than half.
+Ray Cheng That's unfourtunate, must have been a lemon, that ZF-8 spd is supposed to be more reliable, and considering ZF's mainstream status I would hope it is reliable considering it is used all across FCA, VAG, and BMW products.
thousand_cycle Maybe because he drive a hour and a half to work. Maybe that's why the mileage is so high for a 2014. Maybe you don't know what the hell your talking about.
For everyone complaining about the price, this model in particular has about $5000 in unneeded interior designs. If you really wanted this car, you could probably get it new around $48,000, not 55
+PCMasterRace Unfortunately the base price of German cars is very deceiving. The 2.0T quattro with premium trim begins at $49,325 (48,400 + 925 of destination charges). It doesn't include the MMI navigation plus, the cold weather package, the warm weather package, the rearview camera, advance key, Audi connect, etc, etc, etc. It is a very basic car. Very few people are willing to buy such a car in this segment. A fully equipped 2.0T quattro in premium plus trim will cost you more than $60K. The model they reviewed here is missing full LED lights, the S-line sport package, the Bose audio, and the Driver Assistance Package. $55K seems probably the average MSRP of the A6 2.0T sold in the US. This is what BMW buyers also pay for a similarly equipped four cylinder 528i. Considering the $5K difference between engine options, I think the updated 2.0T is responsive enough (0-60 in 5.8 sec) to make it a great alternative to the 3.0.
Eh, kind of disappointing that with gas so cheap in 2015 4 cylinder cars can still come out with just so-so fuel econ :( Thanks for the quick review tho thumbs up.
Tom Mutchler however speaks the truth. 2.0l forced induction 4cyl rated at 252hp w/276ft lb of torque more than gets the job done. The 2.0l respectable torque has an early RPM delivery and wide range; That and a DSG gearbox makes for a competent drivetrain. The newest MB E Class also is fitted with a 2.0l turbo 4cyl . Something to consider when swallowing the 4cyl is the vehicle's Big-Time weight reduction. Yeah, I know... 4cyl under the hood just doesn't seem right when making out a check for $60K "Hey I was short changed!"
+Casual driver Couldn't disagree more. Let the guy leasing it take the huge depreciation hit and I'll buy it used and maintain it. I've had 9 Audis and non of them were purchased new. Sure, eventually you'll have to replace something. Typically a sensors since the new cars are filled with them. The engines and transmissions are rock solid if maintained properly and the bodies are so well assembled, you won't hear any creaks or groans until 100K+ miles and typically a new set of mounts or control arms will remedy any of that. For me, it's a no brainer when I can buy a car with less than 50K miles for 1/2 the price after the 1st owner got out of his lease.
PKmode I'm in the market for a used Audi now... Debating on whether to buy a "regular" used or pony up a few extra grand for a CPO. This will be my first German car so kind of unsure of what to expect. Do you always buy CPO and if not what has been your experience?
haha. Of course dumb people don't buy this car. ITs just to me. Badges don't matter. I understand that sometimes people want a car with a badge. MAybe its better in someways. I get that. Just I don't have the budget for that. So the Hyundai is the next best thing.
MrNick98 If I had the money I'd still get a mid-high spec A7 3.0T. Audi's build quality and all around package is tough to beat. However if you're not planning to spend over ~$60k then forget the A6/A7; the basic models are spartan to say the least. At that price range, the Genesis 5.0 Ultimate is the one to buy.
Honestly, one of the best looking cars I have seen! Such a great combination of aggressive, yet calm looks! Love it
Damn this gen A6 aged gracefully
Nice looking sedan
Just lease at and it does not look good!
The A6 pre-refresh was also available with the older TFSI 4 cylinder with Quattro. It's not new that AWD is offered with the 4- the 4 is just updated.
Nice interior 👍🏿
Since you also talked about the supercharged V6, would it hurt to give its mpg and price, too, not just for the turbo 4?

PKmode Seems surprisingly efficient for such an engine. The specs do show it, though. I wonder if reality bears it out.

PKmode We are still talking about gasoline engine, correct, not 3l TDI?
Correct. 3.0TFSi, not 3.0TDi. The TDi can get close to 40mpg.
Best driving experince
I love the grill
$55k USD is cheap, the A6 2.0 TFSI Quattro starts at $56900 CND here in Canada.

Definitely a lease.

+manifest 73 maybe because there's 60 thousand miles on a damn 2014? That car has been beat to shit for how new it is
thousand_cycle Maybe because he drive a hour and a half to work. Maybe that's why the mileage is so high for a 2014. Maybe you don't know what the hell your talking about.
This shit cost $260K here in Singapore and can only licensed to use for 10 years!!!
At $56K, I can buy 5 number of this shit!!
Looks like that badge said 3.0 T, is it stupid charged or turbocharged?
thanks for making my portfolio take a hit with your tesla review :)
I might choose this over the 5 series but not over the new E class....
For everyone complaining about the price, this model in particular has about $5000 in unneeded interior designs. If you really wanted this car, you could probably get it new around $48,000, not 55
+PCMasterRace you'd have to custom order one probably. Dealers always have the super optioned ones, cause they are greedy like that

I think he likes the car.
I can never tell.
Great review!
lovely
Loving it!

No foglights at that price range, really luxury cars are starting to skimp on the basics.
+95thRiflesOCI It has foglights. They're integrated into the main headlight assembly.
I hope you have that Lincoln Corsair lined up to review, because I think that these compact SUVs are going to take away sedan sales
can yall test the baby trend jogger elx?
Looks the same as it has for 10 years
I don't care what Tom Mutchler says, 4 cylinders at this price range is absurd.
Four is the new six.

I own this car and it's a very peppy 4 cylinder. It felt as quick as the e-350 merc
Are you interested in cylinder number or performance?
Almost anything German is a lease only...
+Ronald f-ing mcdonalds It has foglights. They're integrated into the main headlight assembly.

I thought this would have more than 4 cylinders but I guess its okay
In this segment there is no car better than new BMW 5.
the audi has a much more luxurious smooth ride the 5 series is too stiff and bumpy
Do the 2016 mercedes glc
Oh my god hearing aid beige interior
Major and repeated electrical problems that Audi Service seems unable to fix.
I would prefer a Model S, I would settle for this.
This car blows the model s away. Theres no comparison really
$55,775
for that much money, you can't add a power sunshade.
id just save my money and would get the hyundai genesis.

Get a Korean ricer? No thanks.
I think a two year old Genesis or a demo makes very good sense. Still plenty of warranty on board.
And remain a virgin the rest of your life
no wonder why the Tesla Model S is the best sell luxury sedan
no it isnt the s class is it
lol the model S isn't even in the same league as an Audi A6
this is one boring ass whip.
Yeah.
Those seats are so boring and ugly.
Hate the grill and the rest of the car could be mistaken for a Jetta. No thanks.
Wrong, the 2.0T is weak, there is no comparison to the 3.0T Supercharger
