A foot apart and planted with beans and squash in each hill. The corn will grow tall, the beans will climb the stalk and be easy to pick and the squash will cover the ground so nothing else can grow.
Then you can store the corn and beans in the gourds for winter

You should look into how the Native Americans used to grow corn. They would plant corn along with beans and squash all in the same hole. The three plants then helped each other through our the growing season

      The three sisters.
The corn would give something for the beans to climb, the beans would impart nitrogen and the squash would shade out weeds.
Plant in little hills corn in the middle then beans then squash.

Would this be what people call inter-cropping? I normally see my parents do it but just with the corn and beans. Maybe throw some cassava or pumpkin or sweet potatoes on the embarkments because we love in a hilly area. Also helps with reducing erosion

For your roof, I would suggest charring the planks of wood. One method is to tie three planks of similar size together in such a way that it makes a triangle, and stand it over a small flame. The inside will burn and char, but it will make it water proof by heating up the resin in the wood.
I would suggest getting a place built for your chickens soon, someplace enclosed with enough room for them to run around, with a place for them to stay in case it rains.

Just a thought...You can tie the mother hen to a stake in the middle of the yard but keep their little coop near her on its side or flipped upside down but propped up (like you're setting a trap with it), so the chicks have someplace to hide if a flying predator comes swooping for them. The open & soft bush in your yard may not provide enough protection when they forage. 🐔🐥🐥🐥 Great job otherwise!

That corn definitely didn't get the proper amount of nutrients, etc. it needed to grow, it's obvious from the length variation and kernel pattern.
The garden needs to be terraced as it's too sloped and the rain is leeching nutrients away, and corn needs to be planted closer together to help prevent nutrients from leeching away in the rains. You also need a composting bin to add nutrients back into your garden and rotate the crop placement in the garden every season. Another thing I would suggest as a when you have no other large projects going and after the garden is terraced is making yourself some paving stones for in between the crop rows, this will greatly help reduce the amount of weeds, so less weeding and more nutrients for your food crops.

The perimeter around your field makes it easy for the mice to eat your corn and then run back into the bush. I would cut a wider berth around your field, and cut back the bushes and overhanging trees.

Why don't you get a scythe? You could use it to mow the edge of the pond in a standing position. It would be much easier for you and you would mow 3 times faster.

You need to build a good Chicken Coop once your Chickens lay eggs and protect them from Predators/snakes and being eaten by them. I think Chickens eat their own eggs too.
