Nice Franco mini documentary. You could do one on Lambert, Ham, Russell, and Blount. That be cool.

Franco Harris a real true phenom he was great as the heart and soul with the Pittsburgh Steelers he's won all four super bowl championships he was a 1st Rounder draft choice out of Penn State University in 1972 at 22 years old he's the guy in the playoffs vs Raiders better known as the Immaculate Reception that started a Dynasty and the rest as they say was history he had such a wonderful life a great astonishing career like no other R.I.P to the one and only legendary true icons Franco Harris and thank you for becoming a remarkable player of the Black and Gold🙏🏽🖤🙏🏽💛

I've read a lot of about O.J. Simpson (R.I.P) being rated as the best player of 1970's.
In my opinion having watched them both 1968 -1984 respectively in many televised games, and as much as I loved Simpson at USC and seeing his first two seasons in Buffalo mostly from the weekly highlight reels, I have to rate Franco Harris (R.I.P) the better of the two as far as professional football.
Harris had the numbers, the highlights, AND the Championships.

OJ objectively stating was the superior RB ,even as a loyal decades long Steelers fan as you are also ,I cannot dismiss OJ Simpsons greatness as a RB being subpar in comparison to Franco .OJ , was grand elite top tier alongside Jim Brown ,Payron. Dickerson ,Sanders , Mr Franco was'nt in that rarified upper echelon hieracy ,although great himself . Andy Russell stated that Mean Joe Greene could arguably be considered the player of the 70's decade opposed to OJ ,again I have no problem with either choice ,but OJ Simpson was incredible to behold ,I submitt that assessment as a decades long steelers fan who is thrilled beyond description for every win and painfully battered emotionally with every loss . Team loyalty aside ,OJ was a better RB . Switch both backs on both Steelers and bills and OJ duplicates if not exceed Franco 's team accomplishments ,Franco presence on bills wouldn't equate to him leading the NFL in rushing yds more then a potential once nor gain 2000 yds in a season ,OJ could have gained 2000 yds in Pittsburgh and led the NFL in rushing yds several times . There are levels for everything and OJ was two levels above Franco who I've always stated is amongst the most underrated players in NFL history and for last 15 yrs before his unfortunate death ,Steelers fans ,Leveon Bell and Bettis beforehand recieved most of the applause by most Steelers fandom .

      Thumbs up, well said.
I've picked Harris over Simpson as the best of the 70's for the same reason that Montana eventually overtook the great Unitas (R.I.P.)
      CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Simpson subpar to Harris in skillset... No way.
      I agree there.
But maybe not as determined as Harris in finding a way to win.
I remember when Montana started inching his way closer and closer to the title of "The Best Ever," it was a very exciting time to be a Forty Niner Faithful.
Yes!, the Steelers (and the Raiders) were my favorite teams during most of the 70's because they both BEAT the hated Cowboys.

Franco was 6'2" 230 with power, great feet, breakaway speed and agility. Would've been an absolute stud in any era. Can't imagine if he had access to today's training, technology, nutrition, etc.

All young players today from mites to the NCAA should have to watch the highlights of Harris, Brown, Riggins, Csonka etc. everyday in order to learn how a SPORTSMAN behaves after scoring a touchdown!

6:24 cost us a superbowl. Franco went down, Rocky was already down, and Swann went down early in the AFC Championship game against the Raiders. 1976 Steelers defense was the best EVER to take the field. Ask Lambert if you do not agree.
