Was my favorite player when I was little. I wore his number and wanted to be a running back just like him. I was a wingback and ran the ball but I was a late bloomer and was way too little. Haha Congratulations Franco! We’ll deserved!
I’m 19 and the last year has been crazy for me first time i can remember any qb under center other then Ben and now the guy that I grew up watching highlights of with my pap and him telling me about the story of the immaculate reception and now the man who made that catch is gone Rest easy and thank you for all the great memories you provided me and my family
So hard to see who's in Franco today that's why I became a Pittsburgh Steeler fan growing up I was a Penn State football fan and watch a Franco Harris playing it's why the Steelers drafted him I became a Steeler fan thank you for the memories Franco Harris rest in peace 32 always be in my heart
I will never forget Franco's Italian Army, our season tickets were section 642 very last row at the top Three Rivers Stadium! My parents (rest there souls) were there. Steelers Sundays were, and still are, just like church! Here we go!
RIP Franco such an icon and I hope we can Steelers have the victory in your honor. Next year to honor him I will wear his jersey to a live Steelers game traveling from Tucson.
Franco! 🏈😎👍🏼 I watched that game on TV with my Dad..... I was 12 years old. It was pandemonium in our family room too for about ½ hour that afternoon. Edit: After that we could not stop smiling for days 🙂 ..... and then it was Christmas. 🎄 ..... and then the undefeated Miami Dolphins beat us on the way to their perfect season. ..... and then..... I went back to 7th grade the next day and the pandemonium was over. But Pittsburgh was just getting started...... 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 What a time to be a young kid at the beginning of what has become Steeler Nation! 🖤😁💛
@@lemoynecastle6213 I'm with you, brother. My Dad, at that time, was a Redskins fan. He didn't care about my Steelers, but he REALLY didn't like Kenny Stabler.
Where has this overhead video been all these years??? This is found gold and proves beyond a doubt that that ball never touched the ground. This is the football equivalent of the holy grail. Franco never broke stride to pick the ball up off of the ground or trap it. If he had done that, he would have been tackled. Also, the lane that opened up for him was like the parting of the Red Sea. What a play!!!
One of the greats gone to soon. I can't help but wonder if the Jab may have taken him out. I hope a thorough and honest autopsy will expose the true cause of his death. Way to many people are dropping dead these days.
So crazy he passed so suddenly. RIP to one of the best 🙏🏻

Franco. What a legend. Not gonna forget war-hero Rocky Bleier in that backfield next to him. Amazing era of football.

No greater steeler rb than franco...
Even more we get to rub it in by of course not only waiting until the 50th anniversary but also against da Raidihhhhs!
I wonder why it took so long to retired his jersey?
Why wait so long?
E
Doesn't remember "The Catch??"
...he was Lucky he remembered ANYTHING!
So Many of his teammates Died young from CTE.
"The Catch" was Joe Montana to Dwight Clark, vs Dallas.
Im trying to make sense of how it took the Pittsburgh Steelers organization 50 years to retire his number?
