I started playing guitar sixty one years ago in the early 60s all because of the great Hank Marvin, I still play in a 60s band and we still play Wonderful land and Apache, followed by Move it and, do you wanna dance, Hank is the very best, I've seen the Shadows several times, but have never met my hero, maybe one day, God bless you Hank.

HANK MARVIN the guitarist all players were inspired by, the man who started it all! I have NEVER heard him playt jazz before - SUPERB!! He is the reason I got a guitar and a few lessons then played along with him stood by my parents stereo. I would tune my guitar to the same as him and play along by ear to the tunes. Later I then taught my best friend how to play and he played rythm with me and we had a small band for a few years - ALL due to Hank. I went to one of his farwell shows , sat right at the front and the best moment of my life between tunes we had a chat about what I said above - he was impressed and a little flattered! Cheers Hank.

I have so much respect for Hank. Basically establishes and defines a whole style for decades, then dedicates himself to a completely different one in his later years.

This is wonderful music with strong connections to Gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stéphane Grappelli brought to life again by the indomitable, ex-Shadow man, Hank Marvin.

What an unexpected delight to hear Hank play such exquisitely different music from what we were brought up on 60 and more years ago. And that NZTV hostess deserves to be internationally recognized for her professionalism. Great video all round.

That's Gary Taylor who in the 1960s was in the British band The Herd with Peter frampton and Andy bown who is now in status quo. Gary is a fantastic guitarist and there is quite a lot of him on UA-cam playing the Shadows songs.

    • @D800Lover

Gary Taylor is an incredible guitarist in his own right. Extraordinary how he subjects his role as almost (but not always) playing the rhythm section and does it with absolute gusto. Only makes me admire him even more. In fact this is a trio, with added on bass, that are extraordinarily gifted, and what a player Nunzio is, he is right up there too!
