Coffee by itself does not raise blood sugar. Rather the caffeine can inhibit insulin release and indirectly interfere with sugar levels. This effect varies by individual.

Over the long term coffee has shown in studies to decrease type 2 diabetes but large quantities likev7 cups a day by 7 percent they believe it may be because of the polyphenols in it. Also don’t eat meat. Stay away from red meat and egg yellows especially otherwise you’ll develop a cholesterol problem too. Fish occasionally might be ok, depends on the person. Learn how to eat brown rice, with steamed vegetables and boiled beans. I’ve found this to be my go to meal to feel full and healthy. Obviously you can vary it up maybe use chickpeas instead of beans. Try to keep it to like one fruit a day. Weigh yourself every morning when you wake up and every night before you go to bed. Remember, what doesn’t get measured doesn’t get managed. Learn how to skip a meal once in a while to cut on calories, if you’re over weight and unable to find time to exercise like if you have a very demanding job. Ideally you want to eat right and be able to exercise regularly as often as you can but sometimes we can’t because of life so be realistic with your goals. Don’t ever “reward” yourself with food. If you fall into this habit, eventually you may be punishing yourself with the same food.

I would say the only number you want higher is probably fiber. You have to be careful with articles on the internet. You can find blogs that tell you anything is good for you. But remember, numbers don’t lie. Listen to the numbers. If you’re eating eggs, like crazy like I used to do, you’re going to have cholesterol problems. I am a Registered Dietitian and have.a PhD. I studied caffeine’s impact on blood glucose. The information provided here is completely taken out of context. Nor does this person consider the complexity of food and the importance of fiber, protein, etc. Fruit consumption is one of the most protective dietary factors against all case mortality (death) and cancer. Insulin resistance is not caused by high blood sugar foods, it is caused by over nutrition over time. So disheartening to see such bad advice peddled here.

This report is completely false and must be paid for by the big food corporations. What about the top culprits - refined ultra-processed junk (sodas, refined breads, pastas, pastries, doughnuts, cakes, candy) and everything else with added sugars. The list they present is completely misleading. Fruit has so many benefits including fiber, antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, minerals. The coffee she's talking about is the type from Starbucks with all the added sugar and refined creams. The non-dairy milk she's talking about is the type with added sugars, additives, and preservatives. The sushi of course only in large amounts with the white rice, but instead of focusing on sushi, what about the everyday fast food (deep fried chicken, starchy potatoes, burgers with refined buns, side of french fries, and of course liquid poison also known as soda). It's disheartening how misleading this report is and the reason why we're all suffering so much. She's missing the whole point where all of the ultra-processed, readily-available junk with too much added sugar and refined carbohydrates are the problem.

I was very excited by the title but this clip was a Major letdown. You're going to drop a bomb like black coffee spikes glucose, then just like move on? That is an absolute sea change of a plot twist. Then no science to back it up. This clip was a missed opportunity.
