    my stock bottom end hits 35 psi dynos 485hp....the limiting factor was the clutch and injector size. we thought 40psi was possible but those two things have stalled us out. Your vids are very informative good job

    I have a na 2.4L pt cruiser with the same exact engine as the srt4. Crank position sensor in the same location. Oil feel and coolant feed are there. They just have have a screw in plug in them from the factory. Oil return isnt there on the other hand. The shape is in the blcok. But no hole. The oval Oil feed from the block to head is the same. Soo i guess you can say i have a Naturally aspirated srt4🤣

    We read the plug never use knock sensor but everyone different . the stratus block is my fav cheap and 420a head and some boost we have made 450hp. Tiburon beta engine same design crank trigger wheel as srt4 and sometimes they come apart mess everything . I still have some 420a stuff got few 420a auto transmissions and a engine. Good video

    Super informative. Not really into racing anymore. But its nice to know if I need an engine done who to contact to buy a turn key one if needed.

    My 95 420A is open deck and the head had some very small valves, I swapped to the Oversized valves when I rebuilt it, but they were very close to the stock pistons, but when I went forged JE pistons they were fine.

    A quick follow up on a 4yr old video...Are the 2.4 turbo engines from a PTGT essentially the same as the SRT4 engine with the higher resolution tone wheel, pistons and rods? I'm guessing it has a steel oil pan vs the SRT4 aluminum unit. I'm looking to put this Colorado 5 speed behind one with the 2003 Liberty bellhousing. Does anyone make/modify factory harnesses/PCMs for these like they do in the LS world for non emission controlled applications like a AutoX car?
    TIA

    I've been watching your videos since I have decided to 2.4 swap my 2g eclipse. I have the 420a 2.0l currently. My questions are: other than changing location of crank sensor can I use the timing belt for the 420a or do I get the timing belt for the 2.4. Being that the block is taller I would assume I would use the 2.4l belt. I plan on using my 420a head. As I want to turbo it and have the turbo sit in the front of the engine.

      Thank you. I appreciate the input. Do you know if I can use my 420a ecu and wiring harness (with mod to put crank sensor in rear of engine) and then run stand alone fuel system or is timing different with the 2.4 and I would need the 2.4 ecu? I should also add that I want to keep it street legal and I live in N.Y. so emissions will be a necessity to pass NY state inspection.

    Hi Yost! Excellent video and explanation! I have a 2003 Wrangler TJ with the EDZ block (the same as you mount in your Liberty). My engine version has the "old style" sensor ring machined on the crank counterweight and runs with the JTEC ECU. It's a pity because only late model wranglers (05 and 06) moved to the newer crank with target ring and NGC controller which, as you know, is the same that is used in the SRT-4. Right now it's bone stock and it's clearly lacking some power on the jeep... Which performance mods would you recommend in order to increase some HP? Would you recommend some mild road cams with N/A configuration? I know turbocharging it would be ideal but the main problem is how to remap the old JTEC computer which is not very flexible compared to the NGC one. Any advise is very much welcome! Thanks :-)

    Did they are exactly the same as the 2.4 n/a and 2.4 turbo?
    Did the triggerwheel are on the same one of a srt4 ?

      Edv and edz have a few little differences ..the 420a head fits on the edz block without issues.. The crank ring on srt4 is on other side of block vs edz ...so edz with srt4 internals and 420a head is the go to setup

    • @6598ACE
      @6598ACE 4 роки тому +1

      No you can't run an evo 8 head on a 2.0l or 2.4l iron block, the 2.0l cams people run in srt 4s is from the 1st gen dohc 2.0l neon. You have to reclock the cam sensor magnet when you do that though because it'll be 180° off.

    • @justinbeal3517
      @justinbeal3517 4 роки тому +2

      The only motor that went into Chrysler stuff that you could put an EvoVIII head on would be the 2.4 in the two door COUPE Stratus/Sebring from 2001-2005. That's only because the two door's (not the Sebring Convertible though) were mostly Mitsubishi and used Mitsubishi engines, while the 4 doors, convertible and other Chrysler stuff used Chrysler engines. The coupe 2.4 is the Mitsubishi 4G64, which is totally unrelated to the motors in this video.
