Enjoyed your Hazel Creek series and I know your highlight was your wife landing her first trout on the fly. By the way you can’t beat the Peak Refuel meals. Those are my go to for all my trips. Recently I tried Alpine Fare and they turned out to pretty good as a second option. A few dollars cheaper as well.
Thanks so much! You’re right. Getting to see my wife experience such a cool location and catch her first fish on a fly is a memory I will cherish forever. You’re right about the Peak refuel meals as well. They have become some of my favorites. I’ll have to check out the other brand you mentioned-have not tried them yet. Thanks again for taking time to watch!
I always enjoy my time in the smokies, when this miserable heat is gone for good I'll plan another trip to one of my favorite trout streams. Enjoyed watching. 👍
Hopefully we can have some rain and get this heat behind us soon so we can get back on the water. Thanks so much for watching! The Smokies are such a special place.
Thank y’all both so much for watching! It’s sometimes hard to find time on the water together, but I cherish the times we are able to make it happen, especially trips like this. Thanks again!
How many miles did you go up the trail from the lake? A few days trip up this creek is something I have yet to check off my bucket list. I believe this is the best video of this particular creek I have seen. Awesome video!!
Thanks so much! We camped only about 3.5 miles up from the lake. From there, we hiked another 4 miles or so upstream in order to explore this particular area. It’s a beautiful place I had always wanted to see so I’m glad we made the hike for sure. Thanks again!
I walked up on a juvenile bear at the last creek crossing before the cabin. I froze and reached for my camera to take a Pic, but I had left it back at camp. The bear was drinking out of the creek and went back up into the woods, having never seen me.
That’s awesome. I have yet to see one along that watershed but maybe one day. I often wonder how many I’ve walked right by and never known were nearby. Thanks for watching!

It’s amazing how hooking a fish can make you forget about the hike that got you there!
Haha this is so true!!!
Thank you. My wife and I enjoy your videos. Always special when you can fish together.

That’s a classy girl that likes the outdoors, hang on with both hands metaphorically speaking.
A keeper for sure! Thanks for watching!
What weight and rod length are you using in these tight smaller creeks?
I usually use a 7’ 6” 3wt rod for these streams. I absolutely love it for these smaller streams. Thanks for watching!
