Clearly this guy does not have to earn a living on a 'per delivery' basis. Delivery drivers are forced to break the law to earn a living wage. Delivery companies do not take into account the drop in speed limits. Perhaps the delivery companies should just put their prices up to customers so that delivery drivers don't have to break the law. Asda home shopping is one of the worst for forcing drivers to break the law to complete their shift on time.
Well most of london is 20 and its too slow especially in greater london. Around schools and Hospitals, sure no problem. Across the board, just feels like making driver's life more difficult.
Pretty impossible to keep a modern car to that speed. Driving around in first and second is hardly eco-friendly, significantly increasing vehicle emissions.
I’m English but grew up in Wales. Passed my test many years ago in Wales. I moved back to England as a young adult for work. Wales has a significant aging population. Many of the elderly coffin dodgers drove at 20 through town anyway. Recently went to see my family in Wales. The problem with this stupid 20mph limit is that nobody has a clue what the speed limit is anywhere in Wales. They heard on the news that the speed limit changed so cracked on doing 20 mph everywhere. No joke, on the A44 leaving Wales, there people literally doing 20 in a national speed limit area. It’s dangerous. A journey that used to take me around 1 hour to leave Wales, can now often be double that time.
I run a delivery buisness wa had to increse our vans by 30% due to the 20 mph limits it takes 50% longer per trip from the old 30 limits and we use more fuel and increaed our prices by 50% it crushes the economy. Driving arounf in 2nd gear all day burn loads of fuel or use 3rd and stress the engine car arn`t designed to drive at 20mph.
God this guy is deluded anything she says which are facts he denys to agree with his narrative he wants 20 mph so ofcourse he is not going to admit anything negative with it
The second he said i don`t think there is an economic impact i was like dam he just openly told every one he is not smart enough to be telling others about this topic. This has a massive economic impact and to say otherwise shows he don`t care about the facts and just lives in his own little world he wants to force that on others.
I have serious concerns if this young man do use the road. This is how they make people fool asking questions to the people who don't use the roads and propagate that 2 million people are happy with the decision whereas those 2 million people are not road users.
Will women be allowed to reach such speed, as we know women who dare ride those steam powered locomotives, their insides will scramble because their fragile bodies can't handle the sheer speed
Red flag was 2mph in towns and 4mph (walking pace) outside of them. Prior to 1930 the speed limit had risen to 20mph. In 1930 we abolished the speed limits, then four years later the 30mph limit was introduced.
@@Jb-tl1yi looking around at the general state of things it does feel like we're going back to 1930 living standard... That 20mph makes much more sense to me now 😅
Some people will always object to it because it’s ridiculous! If they had done a real opinion poll in the first place and listened to the results then the taxpayer wouldn’t have had millions of pounds of their hard earned money wasted.
road engineering isn't a popularity contest. Speed lmiits are set by people who actually know what they're talking about, not by people who got their qualifications in the comments thread.
This man is deluded when he says that the policymakers anticipated and expected a portion of the public to object to the lowering of the speed limit to 20 MPH, and that the objections were approximately 15%. 15% indeed??? Almost half a million out of a population of just over 3 million signed a petition to scrap the policy. And that's just the ones who signed. Imagine how many more people who were furious with this decision. He's not just deluded but downright dishonest when he goes on to state that although there will always be SOME people who will object to this disastrous policy, the vast majority support it. I believe he is dishonest, deluded and in denial.
more people would get to work, and home again - and to all the other places we like to go - if the limit was 20. Because far fewer would be killed by drivers doing 'just 35'.
It will cost the same amount to turn Wales back to 30 mph as it did turn the country into a blanket 20 mph and in England it is 20 zones not a blanket 20 mph everywhere in all of towns not just outside schools extra
Not really contraversial in Scotland. Seems to have been put in pretty reasonably. Should save some lives and the NHS Scotland estimates £56 million per year so worth a go.

20mph in all vehicles (apart from electric) means worse mpg which means higher pollution, it really is stupidity at its finest.
And not to mention the production of electric vehicles is worse for the environment than petrol cars
Pretty impossible to keep a modern car to that speed. Driving around in first and second is hardly eco-friendly, significantly increasing vehicle emissions.
Was this law written by a 95 year old who yells at all the “new fangled” horseless carriages that pass by his house?
Welshman here. It should be pretty simple. 30mph for main roads, 20mph on smaller streets. It's not hard.

They missed Insanity off the COVID symptoms list😂😂
No - it’s nuts.
The tailbacks into Aberystwyth since this was implemented are horrendous now.
The welsh speed limit is dumb. Don't punish those who can drive, bring it back to 30.
I bet he’s a bike rider holding up other road users!! Knob!
Why 20mph? Why not 10? or 5? Heck, why not ban cars to stop car accidents.
Yes, nearly half million people disagree with it.
My milk float can go faster 😂
Ernie?
The daily milk is always off now because of this,

When Rod Klng pays for my petrol & repairs on my car i will drive at 20 mph what a plonker.
Motorway speed limit shpuld be increased to 90. 70 is for dodgy AF old cars from years gone by.
20 mph 2nd gear engine reving more simple the optimum revs for diesel is 21/2 thousand revs in 4th n petrol 3 thousand in 4th
Road deaths and accidents decline with 20mph speed limits.
That's the only relevant information on the subject.
Yes 20 is good, it stops morons doing 35mph in a 30mph zone

Hopefully the decision on whether to raise the limit on any road will be as a result of a request from those who live on that road.
Why stop at 20mph? Why not 10???
Five, five would be even safer ! 😂
@@sznikers I think we should just abandon cars altogether. That seems to be the safest thing to do.

might just as well ban car traffic
'Expected that it wouldn't be perfect', however we will spend millions and waste public money anyway!
20mph. Ye gads! A human can suffocate at faster than a horse gallop. 12 mph preceded by a red flag holding footman.

Nothing wrong with 20mph zones but a blanket policy was clearly silly
Only Krankie’s camper van can go over 20 in Scotland 🤣🤣
Really??
Why not 10 mph? Save Even MORE lives eh?
Higher pollution though due to poor mpg at low speeds, that'll cost the NHS even more in time.
