@@filltee Red is not impossible for lower levels lol? You only need 60 herb for the minigame, and you can farm avantoe/kwuarm at 50/56 farming for red paste. Do miscellania and nmz for kingdom rewards + herb boxes. If you are trying to do this all in 1 grind it will be terrible, just make it an hour a day and you won't even feel it. I enjoy playing the minigame a lot, but my I do have some major concerns. The Digweed is only up for like a second or two every ~20ish minutes and it seems like such a massive troll. Like if you're busy paying attention to other parts of the minigame or second monitoring you miss out on a pretty miniscule boost to xp and points in the grand scheme of things. Should either be much more common or not degrade in the blink of an eye. Also the Alchemist's Amulet seems like a scam to me. If my math is right it'd have to activate about 2000 times in order to make more doses than you used getting it. Definitely something im avoiding until clog much further down the line.
I really feel like they were trying so hard to prevent world hopping with the digweed that they forgot it still needs to be gotten by normal people lol
Minigame loop is decent, similar to giants foundry which is what I expected. But with that said, I think the xp is balanced fairly, in fact it's good for ironmen and really good for UIMs. I think someone said that roughly you get twice the xp from herbs vs. if you were making potions normally. Sure it's 60-70k xp/hr, but considering the time you save from doing about half as many herb runs, and needing to gather secondaries, it's very good if the goal is purely xp. Irons will use the herbs that they have no need for in exchange for more xp, and use the rewards (goggles, chemistry ammy, regeant bag) to make the potions they do need - they have no reason to complain about the xp. As for mains, it's not an update for them, let's just get that out of the way. The intention was never to have this be the meta to gain xp (even though it kind of will be for irons/UIMs), so they'll be doing the minigame for purely the clog or some of the rewards. I think that's totally fine.

it is DEFINITELY 100% not better time efficient herb training. I don't play UIM, but for normal iron you're better off just doing a 5 minute herb run than spending 10x longer to train the skill, the math isn't even close.
@@djbcubed The major advantage is that you don't have to collect secondaries. That being said, the secondaries are balanced out by the fact that you actually get the potions. Quite frankly I do not think any of the big rewards are actually worth it, and I do agree with you RE: the xp, but stuff like dwarf weed potions, tarromins and below, it might be nice to have a use for them for some people
Yeah, the sound/visual effects definitely need better timing (other than the spam click one obv). It's faster to simply click once and then not interact with the machine again, which doesn't seem like good design
they could easily reduce the point costs by half and they would be still annoying to get but more fair.and they really need to double the exp per hour... cmon this isnt what anyone was thinking when this was polled.
I wonder how many charges / amulet of chemistry's can the alchemist's amulet hold, and does it break if it runs out completely? I suppose on the wiki there's uncharged and charged versions, so I assume it doesn't break at least.
I think the necklace should be the second before the goggles why you have what I heard 50 chance of making 4 dose potion one should be first why it called bank space. If you have no potion in bank then I guess goggles first then necklace second.
Another quick note: if you dont have the herblore level to make a particular potion, you can boost and make a bunch the "unfinished" version, then finish the processing as they come up. Probably not usually worth it, but it can help even out point quantities (mostly with Lye points)
Great ending note on having fun with the update. This video was super helpful and I will certainly wait to see which changes they'll make. For that xp rate and investment, the rewards should be so much cheaper.
I think the loop is very solid, good to chill or you can lock in a bit, but yeah it really feels like it’s balanced around those herbs being in like 75% of the potions not like 2%
I tried it out and did a few potions, and then it gave me 3 orders that I couldn't do, which happens often enough. They really need to change the speed up process, i only was able to get it a couple times. Predicting it is really hard compared to just click right after you hear it which would make more sense.
I think they should rework the herb break down to where the most useless herb like Guam and lower level herbs should be on different list not the same one
I feel like because the xp/hr is so low, they wanted to make the cost of rewards really high because after people get them they wont be using the minigame anymore
Really should make it so you can make all 3 potions per order. I also like the idea of triggering the refinement process withouth aving to STAY there (even if staying there is "faster" with the perfect clicks) that way you can optimally make 3 potions
I got stuck on the azure one but I just remixed the levers and made another one I could make for the next order. Think it was the mammoth one Thought I was stuck for a bit and couldn’t find a cancel order thru the npcs
Because it's super tedious. Even if you ignore xp and point rates per hour, right now it's a minigame that requires way too much focus otherwise you almost halve your rates by not doing the speed up interactions. It will get better with plugins but right now it really feels like a chore to a lot of people with the pre pot needing about 10-12 hours of constant gameplay to get. Doesn't help you need mid 80's herblore to even take advantage of the minigame rewards since that's when most Lye recipes are unlocked.
The minigame is sooooo trash if you're not a high herblore level. I thought I'd give it a chance despite all the hate it's getting, maybe use it to hit level 70 for SOTE. I get 3 potions I can't make on the orders. Apparently the only way to reset the orders is to make a dud for a third of the exp, therefore wasting herbs and exp. Lovely. 68 herblore and I can only make half the potions on the list which gives a fairly common chance of just getting 3 on the list I can't make, cutting down the already pretty trash exp even worse. This sucks.
This, and considering most of the good stuff requires quite a decent chunk of red points (which are not that easy to get before 80+ herblore), was hoping this would have been a decent way to use herbs for early/mid ironman, but guess not
I think regardless of plugins and all of that you have guys already doing this getting 75k an hour but you have to be tick perfect in all the operations, and no afk down time.. - The best option is for them to nerf the cost of items in the shop and then if anyone bought them they can refund the cost. - Dig weed needs to last way longer - Need to allow you to make all 3 potions from the Potion Orders and potentially give you upped rewards for delivering all 3 at once which would make more sense instead of how it is currently Otherwise I feel like 35k for avg afker and 70k for sweat is decent, as they stated this was never intended to be a training method to circumvent 99 herb grind (most) if not all are just there for the rewards, but as it sits no end-game pvmer unless they are a clogger is going to waste 40 hours to get potion storage and prepot device especially when you can prepot at a bank in 15 seconds flat if you have bank tabs setup.
Yea XP is more than fine, honestly more generous than I was expecting. But I did it for like an hour and got enough to get like 2 of the secondary ingredient. The big rewards are ridiculously expensive sure, but at least they're a one time thing. The secondary being like a couple potions an hour is just like *not it* lmao.
You are incorrect about the xp/hr, Jagex literally said on their Varlamore 2 blog that this was supposed to be an "alternative training method". As it stands right now, with current rates NO ONE will train at the minigame once they get the rewards. To me that is a sign that the minigame is not balanced in regards to how fast normal herb training is. You gotta remember super attacks are 250k xp/hr and brews are 400k xp/hr, this minigame being 75k xp/hr at absolute sweat is way too low.
Mr. Mud, I had a thought today I want to run by you cause you're the best man for the job. You should make a Mini-Series of videos going through each storyline in OSRS. Like a 20-30 min videos of the Majaratt, Kourend, Varlamore, etc. stories. So many players skip through the dialogue of quests and you'd be great at breaking them down like mini movies. Just a thought! Love the content!
awful new content, great rewards... yay... 40 hours to green log is just torture, 10 should be more than enough. Huey boss and the new agility course are lame af too
I did a little bit earlier, definitely waiting for changes. I feel like they will speed it up. I am sure I'm wrong but it seems to me they were looking at herbs as the "purchase price" of the herbs. If so, I don't think they would want to make the rewards cheaper. Or some combination of a little cheaper and a little faster.
This herblore shit is terrible. Gagex should've given 10x points or have the rewards cost 10x less. They were too worried about pronouns in quest dialog to balance the "minigame", if it even deserves that moniker. I doubt they'll fix it but who knows.

Quite frankly I do not think any of the big rewards are actually worth it, and I do agree with you RE: the xp, but stuff like dwarf weed potions, tarromins and below, it might be nice to have a use for them for some people
Such a terrible minigame in it's current state
the minigame nobody wanted
I'd rather it just give hella points than xp.
So it look like people only will do it for items and then leave and never go back there
I think the necklace should be the second before the goggles why you have what I heard 50 chance of making 4 dose potion one should be first why it called bank space.
That reagent pouch is the same as 14/14 you have to fill it up everytime you make 26 pots lol
Solo mission bought one of the pre pot things for 220m yesterday😮
30pts per potion and 50k pts is like 1,667 potions or something . 😂
Predicting it is really hard compared to just click right after you hear it which would make more sense.
solo mission bought the pre pot device for 222m jsyk
I think they should rework the herb break down to where the most useless herb like Guam and lower level herbs should be on different list not the same one
What i missed is: can you stack a inventory of pre made pots before handing them in?
8:07 It's based on the morphology of the words, -ator is a suffix so a makes sense.
The potion you make out if the 3 options does matter, as it results in higher xp rates if you pick the right one.
Soo many rs3 rewards from this minigame, awesome
6:30 I was not expecting the Dax Flame guest appearance
Digweed is probably a play on John Digweed if i had to guess
I rewinded 10 seconds to hear the hey how’s it goin
300K per potion, Nice meme Jagex.
4:25 opposite to suffering the new way
Grimes Parkway
lol the dig weed hurt my soul
Great video! Thanks!
Best uses for the new potions?
Thanks for the update!
I feel like because the xp/hr is so low, they wanted to make the cost of rewards really high because after people get them they wont be using the minigame anymore
Like, the tradeoff for the minigame shouldn't be horrible xp rates, it should be that you aren't getting the potions from your herbs.
My opinion has arrived
grown WHAT weed?
Really should make it so you can make all 3 potions per order. I also like the idea of triggering the refinement process withouth aving to STAY there (even if staying there is "faster" with the perfect clicks) that way you can optimally make 3 potions
Just like how the other variants have different tiers like farming contracts and MH's... herblore giving yet another kick in the guts to IM players
Ah I was trying to look this up today, and I knew you'd come through with a banger. ty ty
Gl!
What do I do when I’m not a high enough level for the orders and I can’t boost because I still won’t be high enough
I got stuck on the azure one but I just remixed the levers and made another one I could make for the next order. Think it was the mammoth one Thought I was stuck for a bit and couldn’t find a cancel order thru the npcs
First
Nice
ERRblore
Pre pot is selling for 400m right now. Wild shit. Been out 13 hours and only 2 have sold on market. Kinda shows how few people are doing it.
It's been out 13 hours and at max efficiency it's 11 hours to get a pre pot device. Only a couple exist
Damn 60 herblore rip my ironman 🤣🤣
don't you want a quest cape, why no herblore?
Just logged off from the minigame to eat and this was uploaded 4 minutes ago, too perfect ty kips
Gl hope it helps!
@@WildMudkip I was already considering waiting on it pretty heavily; thanks for helping me make that decision
There's no audio? 😢

:)
This sucks.
This, and considering most of the good stuff requires quite a decent chunk of red points (which are not that easy to get before 80+ herblore), was hoping this would have been a decent way to use herbs for early/mid ironman, but guess not
It's trash even if you are a high level
hi
helo
I think regardless of plugins and all of that you have guys already doing this getting 75k an hour but you have to be tick perfect in all the operations, and no afk down time..
- The best option is for them to nerf the cost of items in the shop and then if anyone bought them they can refund the cost.
- Dig weed needs to last way longer
- Need to allow you to make all 3 potions from the Potion Orders and potentially give you upped rewards for delivering all 3 at once which would make more sense instead of how it is currently
Otherwise I feel like 35k for avg afker and 70k for sweat is decent, as they stated this was never intended to be a training method to circumvent 99 herb grind (most) if not all are just there for the rewards, but as it sits no end-game pvmer unless they are a clogger is going to waste 40 hours to get potion storage and prepot device especially when you can prepot at a bank in 15 seconds flat if you have bank tabs setup.
You summed it up perfectly. Well said.
I’ve done a couple hours of it. I like it more than giants foundry. It’s a 50 hour grind, but we’re osrs players… we eat 50 hour grinds for breakfast
50 hours is vastly different when you're doing something enjoyable vs something that isn't engaging.
It's about 25hours for green log
Love the content!
why not make zammy grapes for your dwarf weeds
Getting grape seeds to grow them effectively comes out to 450/hr where as telegrabbing is up to 850/hr
It’s a shame that people are annoyed it’s “not an update for me at my level” not every update needs to be endgame
it is endgame, 86 herblore is best to do this at.
awful new content, great rewards... yay... 40 hours to green log is just torture, 10 should be more than enough. Huey boss and the new agility course are lame af too
More like 40 hours for one reward. One reward was calculated at 7 hours, and it's one of the least costly. Insane.
The issue is that measure unfairly neglects to take irons into account, especially considering far more irons will want to do that content than mains.
Stay away from herb mini game its aids!
"fulfil" order ... This might be worse than the login pixel.
That's the proper spelling in the UK. What's the login pixel though? :o
@@WildMudkip nope, the entire country is wrong and I'll fight em. There was a green pixel on the world selector icon for a month or something.
This herblore shit is terrible. Gagex should've given 10x points or have the rewards cost 10x less. They were too worried about pronouns in quest dialog to balance the "minigame", if it even deserves that moniker. I doubt they'll fix it but who knows.
bros worried about pronouns
What is bro yapping about??
you know the players makes the prices not jagax
