Nothing screams “safe” louder than keeping a Batman movie grounded. It’s been almost 30 years and the Schumacher movies still scare filmmakers from delving into Batman’s more fantastical elements in his universe. If there’s a writer/director/producer who can unequivocally say “I can make a Batman movie with Clayface work” or “I want to do a great character study of Mr Freeze” or “Let’s delve into Batman’s supernatural adventures and drag out Etrigan the Demon or Klarion The Witch Boy”, they’d have my attention immediately. Because they know Batman isn’t a binary aesthetic hero. It doesn’t have to be “Nolan or Schumacher”.

As much as I love Batman Begins and TDK, the popularity of the Nolan films really has held back Batman from being the one from the comics that can go from dark and gritty, to fantastical and crazy. If someone just had the balls to do Man-Bat, Mr. Freeze or the like because man, The Batman was a bore.

I agree with Gary or Nerdrotic that Batman as a live action series (but not some season long single arc, gritty Netflix Daredevil clone) would make a mint for Max and you can tell all kinds of stories with the episodic format. A couple of episodes can be dedicated to mundane stories like dealing with the mob or police corruption, some episodes focus on his costumed crazies like Scarecrow or The Ventriloquist, and a couple of episodes can focus on Mr Freeze or Man-Bat, or the more fantastical.

The Batman is the only Batmam movie I ever watched that left no impression on me I often have to remind myself I ever saw it all. Hell the only thing I remember was that weak ass ending.

batman vs superman was atrocious but it's not because of the story nor acting it's because of the way it has been cut with a chainsaw it's the 1st movie I've seen where it felt like you went into a coma and missed 10min of the movie I watched on streaming and rewound several times thinking something went wrong and the video skipped parts, the only other movie like that I've see was the last skywalker, like bat vs sup it looks like it should have been two movies but they hacked at it to only make one and the result was really bad, instead of a continuity both feel like you're watching cable tv and zapping between channels

I did wonder at the beginning of the film whether I was watching Lifeforce🤣 The story is a bit of a mess but it looks like a Tim Burton film, so I'm happy with that👍🙂 At least it had my favourite (redhead and blonde) women from the 90's: Amy Nuttall and Winona Ryder 🤩❤️👍
16:00 Avatar and Dredd 3D were epic in 3D but made 3D camera's specifically for those two movies that enhanced the 3D further... Personally I own a Sony 3D tv and about $1000 of 3D movies and was sad it went away.... T'was but a gimmick... it worked though

I first went to an Imax around the mid 90's. It was some science thing where they went under water. And also filmed a lot of snow and mountains. And then showed inside the body where you could see blood vessels pumping blood, etc. I've tried searching this to figure out what movie this was, but never could find it.

batman was always "grounded" aka boring if you ask me cops and robbers pretty much (the detective part) just like classic spider-man that's why I like X-Men or Green Lantern better they have larger scopes than a single town and heists, sometimes too large I admit the multiverses were a step too much, they were fine for a cameo here and there not entire arcs based on that
Keaton had less than 17 mins in the first film so I'm disappointed to learn he doesn't have much more here. Esp after reading several reviews suggesting he did. But maybe less keeps him more fresh(or maybe I should say rotten) Or maybe you just can't give a white guy too much screentime these days
The Soviet POV of Reagan is smart since Reagan's strategy ended their reign. Hope it's great and does well. Early on, Reagan was forced to do some very risky things to end the raging inflation of the Carter era. I remember the day the stock market began to soar signally that Reagan had succeeded. A great man, not for his ideology, but for his character.

well no. there are wrong opinions when based on objectively wrong facts. the thing is what are objective facts. almost none when it is about movies itself. moving away from the product which will have degrees of likes and dislikes, if fire can burn in space like a campfire on the ground, if rock can burn like gasoline doused wooden structures...these are fact shattering inconsistencies that break..reality. in a fantasy based show like the acolyte even in this setting there must be consistencies in fantastical "reality" within this "world". these are not inconsequential nitpicks because these scenes tells you things about characters, the movie world and pull the plots along.
Hey Al, you and the wife need to look into going Carnivore for health reasons. It might be a game changer for both of you. Carnivore diet eliminates many ailments for ppl over certain age who have developed metabolic dysfunctions which result in weight gain, tumors, and so on. It has helped me with inflammations and insulin resistant ailments.

The Beetlejuice sequel was boring and overstuffed. There were things in the movie that was like “What was the point of that?” The movie was only like 1 hr. 45 min. but it felt so much longer.
IMAX is stupid. Just pick an aspect ratio and stick to it. And IMAX theaters, at least the ones i've been to, are _way_ too loud. And the seating sucks. I always pick the best option just below IMAX (it's called SuperScreen DLX + Laser Projection at the theater we go to), and it's a fantastic experience. And i get the same movie with the same aspect ratio when i watch the 4K at home. None of this "which is the correct aspect ratio b.s. And another thing, IMAX aspect ration on my 4K TV at home is the same aspect ratio as Cheers or Columbo. It's just dumb. I don't understand it's appeal, other than snobbery.

Of all the storylines which was the best that they should have focused most on?
