Former Kansas State QB Will Howard is transferring to Ohio State. Kyle McCord transferred to Syracuse & the Buckeyes do not have a QB with experience. Howard may not be viewed as an elite talent, but he has a strong enough arm & is mobile enough to help win games.

Feeling great. Howard is the guy I wanted most in the portal and we got him. A big QB that is very mobile for his size and not afraid to make big throws love it.

Kstate fan here. Watched him through his whole time at kstate. Will Howard’s got a huge arm and pro size. Definitely nfl caliber. He never had a standout WR at kstate. He’s only ever had 5’8” receivers. If osu has some big nfl sized receivers he’s going to go off next season

This looks just like a Young Josh Allen at Wyoming. Good runner for his size, great arm. I like that he steps up into clean pockets unlike McCord who seemed to just step into the pass rush.
Got me messed up comparing him to josh allen, josh allen was a superstar on a god awful Wyoming team , will howard is literally slower, less arm talen in every way, and had a freshman take his job , not even close

I can see a lil Josh Allen in his game, just less arm strength & maybe a lil less athleticism .. but the potential is there.
No one has Josh Allen's arm strength but I wouldn't say he's less athletic. In fact I think is probably more athletic plus he's bigger. Even if he's Josh Allen light that's a big upgrade over McCord. He clearly has more raw talent.

It's impossible for an oline to protect a quarterback with zero pocket awareness or command. That's asking a lot. Kyle McCord made the o-line look alot worse than they played.

I’m excited! With all the 5 star talent at Ohio State to throw to, Will could take us all the way to a NATIONAL TITLE. Will Howard coming here is a answer to our prayers…..great things to come this fall.

Not saying it can’t happen but it’s unlikely.
Don't these highlights give you some concern? They're mainly him hitting guys all alone. He's not the kind of QB that can fit in a tight window. He's a serious threat running the ball, but he's just not a good passing QB.

@@adamg378 Also, route running is on the WR...Ohio State WRs are a tad better then KStates. lol They will create better separation then what Howard was accustom to at KState. Not to mention, Ohio State WRs will win more 50-50 balls. So...Howard will be fine.
@@brianroberts8828 I watched this dude play at k state for the past 2 seasons and he was nothing special. The coaching staff told him it's probably best he transfer so they could hand the job to an unproven, 4-star sophomore. Suffice it to say, I have some concerns about will howard.

Has what mccord didn't, a great arm, good anticipation, and can run.
Mccord was accurate but passes over 15 yards, he consistently threw behind the WR.
McCord, threw off his back foot, often late and behind receivers...as you said.

if the Oline wants to protect him I see a very big year for this dude in the making. He mobile when he needs to be, moves with the pocket when it starts collapsing, he's not afraid to make a decision, lots of quick snappy passes in there shows he's confident in his ability to throw and his decisions to run look good positive yardage on alot of them some of them he's taking to the house. If the Oline gives a damn this upcoming year he will be a stud possible heisman contender

Yes he does. KState just hadn’t had WR’s that are fast enough to get separation since Jordy Nelson and Tyler Lockett. Rest easy you got a good QB and a quality young man.

Absolutely love this guy. QB1 for the 2025 draft. Release is quick and high, reads the field, doesn’t fold under pressure, navigates the pocket and steps up to throw, velocity and ball placement. Crazy that odds are +6000 for him.

@@lennyj2080 more than half of those were on the receivers. Go off his 2022 for better representation only playing half a season. This year kstate had a bunch of 5’8” WRs that were running 4.5s. His TE/FB was his best receiver. Hard to throw a 50/50 ball when your receiver can’t get separation or has a height advantage.

I'm a diehard fan but I'm trying to look with a critical eye here. Seems to make really good decision making and can run the read option really well. Can't tell other than a few throws if he can thread the needle when he needs to. Overall if he stays smart and doesn't turn the ball over he'll be just fine
Id like to use him in a double hb-single te gun formation with some triple options/rpo/pa. Keep the defense guessing with Henderson, Howard, Judkins.
If we cannot fix the offensive line play it still will be the same result.

He’s very good at running play action and extending plays. Not the most gifted passer in the world, but OSU doesn’t need that with their backfield. If Ohio State plays a defense that can force 3rd-and-long situations I could see their being issues. Not many teams have a D-line good enough to force that
