Thanks for this - I've just started this season and didn't want to completely abandon my bleed Barb but no one else is trying to make the build work. Just to make sure I'm understanding this - the main ideas are that Shard of Verathiel makes flay cost 25 fury, but you try to mitigate that with endless fury + other resource gen items to make flay generate at least 25 fury? And Harrogath means that when your rupture hits multiple enemies it hopefully reduces it own cooldown allowing you to keep spamming it? How high is your resource regen? Between magnus opus's drain and the cost of flay I'm struggling to get and maintain fury.
Your starter fury is from call of the ancients, you need 1 resource generation temper on a ring and 2 points in endless fury, then you gain more fury than you spend and can use flay at will.
Appreciate a fellow barb doing barb things. I'm on an Upheaval build, struggling to get past that tier 65 pit with a +16 upheaval Hellhammer. Barb life is rough :(
@@emptysoul2757 got past it. Needed 8/12 masterwork Armor and 12/12 masterwork 2 hander weapons tho. And I'm still not time efficient enough to farm T4 yet. I still stay on T3 cuz it's just faster. Yep, compared to playing Mighty Throw or heck another class, it feels strangely harder to play Core Skill Barb for some reason this season :((
Nice work so far. I’m also running a bleed build (charge/kick with triple shout, dustdevil and earthquake spawn feeding berserk ripping, with a full rend barb attached through the ravenous ring). I hit the same wall as you earlier this weekend, tippytoeing instead of boldly killing because of squishyness. That’s no state of being for a barb so I went back to the drawing board and designed a few tanks. The key is the aspect of the crowded sage which turns dodge into heal. Besides scaling with willpower, healing, max life,… it also scales with incoming attacks. This is quite broken on itself, with dodge both mitigating damage and healing. And it gave rise to 2 combo’s. The first is a big tank with a fury pump, the second is immortality with a minor unique. The first is what I’m using myself: crowded sage, endurant faith gloves and starlight aspect. Endurant faith smooths out big hits by turning them into damage over time. This means you get the time to heal up by dodging, the time to pop a potion, and you are never at full health so starlight works at full capacity for tons of fury. (I nearly doubled my dust devil output by fixing my defense so quite happy about finding this interaction.) On to option 2. I call it the temeritank(tm). Temerity gives a huge barrier. This barrier resets on every heal. Every dodge heals. It’s like watching a magician. You know the damage was there and all of a sudden it’s just… gone. Faster than the eye can see. The more attacks you take, the more resets. This one is totally broken. Add a single point to the shouts healing passive for a heal every second and the barrier will be up before entering combat. And there’s this generator rune that gives 200 resource every 2s as long as you don’t take damage to synergise as well, that can guarantee uptime on a lot of stuff, or just give you 100 fury/s base, +3 skills… I fully realise both of these options aren’t easy to fit in, and it’s basically starting over. But it’s what it takes to survive high pits, tank 4P raids,…. And let’s be honest, loosing edgemaster to make some room isn’t a huge sacrifice to feel like a barb again and survive what you pull ;) .
Nice work! Temerity is great, I wanted to add it to my Rend barb but couldn't fit it in the build. Nice combo with crowded sage, faith and starlight! What is the highest pit you cleared?
@@barb_or_bust I’m starting to plateau at around 68/70, depending on map layout and end boss. Got to maximum dust devils, so not really much to improve on the fury part. I could get more different cc and get more out of creeping death for mob phase, but it’s the boss that’s the problem, even with kick. If only ring of the ravenous wouldn’t eat overpower… I tried without it to overpower my kicks, but I loose more damage than I add that way. I should probably just scrap the entire bleed part and go for overpower instead for solo pits. I’ve tanked 4P 125 pits for others, and if I give up all damage I could debuf monster damage in half (shouts, maelstrom, decripify runeword), slap on bear clan and have 3s warcry, aspect of assistance for a trail of bastions behind me, pixel pulls,…
Excellent vids. Clear, concise, no waffle, man knows people need to get back to the grind. That being said, I got a 4*GA Crimson, 4k strength, 80% attack speed bonus, and despite having a very similar setup to this, hitting above 100m is a rare sight. What gives?
4 GA Crimson! That's awesome, but that's the downfall of the build :/ I wish the Fields of Crimson was BiS but its not, you need to use a legendary and not a unique so you can use the flay tempering. 2 flay tempers are a must.
How about the new mythic unique ? Shatted vow ? Would it be a good addition to this build ? I made a barb and i was interested into going on a DoT build
Shattered vow kind of does the same thing rupture does. So I wouldn’t use it on this build. I use it on my dust devil kick/charge bleed tank though. It comes down to the following: either you have rupture on the bar to execute, or shattered vow on gear. If you have room on the skill bar for rupture, there’s better things for a 2H slot. My build needs charge, kick to deal with bosses, triple shout, rend needs a place on the bar so the procced rends benefit from violent rend. There’s dust devils, earthquakes through runewords,…. In short the build is “full” allready and a 2H slot to bridge my 8s bleed lag is a good trade off. For the rest, there’s a good chunk of damage over time on shattered vow which synergizes well with gushing wounds.
So im working on this build right now but I have a question and hope someone can advise. Would this sort of build not see more gains from swapping out all the DoT stats for Crit damage to pair with gushing wounds?
I haven't tried that, but in theory no because the first part of gushing wounds is a multiplier and it multiplies your DoT and then adds your crit damage.
You don't really want that. You want Rupture on a two hander because it let's you Rupture with out taking the bleed off every 9sec if you put in the ring you can only do that every 15-30sec
Fields of Crimson is ok..... but instead of damage to bleeding it needs damage over time :/ The 2 handed aspect slot is too valuable for just a 30%x from the Fields of Crimson, they need to bump that up to 50%x for it to be viable. Think about elements, edgemaster, Creeping Death, wantons... a lot of aspects outshine the unique aspect of the Fields of Crimson by a significant amount :/
Can someone PLEASEEEEE explain to me why I ALWAYS have no fury like he does? What am I doing wrong? I’m just standing there with no fury and can’t cast Any spells. Ive followed the build guide to the letter
Our main fury source is Call of the Ancients, then Rallying Cry for more resource generation. Do you have the ring of starless skies? If not I like to use the umbral aspect. Also make sure you have points in Endless Fury
