Glad you included WPLJ. I lived in New Jersey for three years, 1983-1986 and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck. I would listen to WPLJ almost exclusively because: (1) They had a *truly funny* morning show with Jim Kerr and the "Morning Crew;" and (2) They were the station in New York City that carried "American Top 40" with Casey Kasem every Sunday morning (before January 1984, "AT 40" was on WNBC). I also listened to "Z-100," WYNY, and WPIX-FM ("Nothing but love songs").
When i first received my first radio in the early 70's , a small transistor AM only, I listened to 77 am WABC, it had music that sounded ok, but those jingles will forever remain in my memory coming from that small speaker.
Cool! This would be an excellent to do a chipmunked or kid versions of the NYC radio jingles. This would be a lot of fun. Gotta love those CBS-FM jingles too.
I love it I'm a great JINGLE COLLECTOR (and also a great record collector) in section : dance, funk, jazz, electro, r&b, but also pop, rock, and many other things
as I was saying, for that short time when CBS FM was off the air and Jack took it over, a bad time for new yorkers, but, however, in 2008, at 1:01 PM, WCBS, "oldies 101" was revived!
I've always wondered why, when commercial radio station call letters were first assigned in the 1920s, why the east part of the USA - where the most radio stations were in the world, for decades - was given the only letter in the alphabet which isn't just one syllable. This meant that all these stations had the most cumbersome letter to have to say. Of course, this was way before any jingles like these were invented.
I believe that Dan Alexander did the sonovox for most of the PAMS jingles back in the 60's. I just found out that Dan passed away almost 2 years ago. Look for some of the PAMS/JAM jingle sessions on here. you will see Dan. He's a burly bear type guy.
did that for few stations, "serving wisconsin" did they ever do "serving los angeles?" the rest I know was serving the universe just heard that while on jeremy richardsons amazing jingle site! was for KKRD wichita, and b104 baltimore! although they did that in warp factor, my favorites were "waking up virginia, and serving dublin" oops, forgot "canada's greatest city!"
Glad you included WPLJ.

Thanks for posting the WAYV jingle. I remember Bob Patrick so well, you should put some monmouth/ocean stuff as well if you find any in another video.
I remember 77 WABC doing something called "instant replay" ...it was a "shout" and then they'd play the same song again. Vintage 60's!

Nice work. Great editing job (audio and video)!

Great job chuck, Bob Patrick was a cool guy. Have a coworker that's from new york, lisened to WABC and WCBS, did you know it's back on the air?
Wow, WAYV really channeled Radio Caroline with their jingles.

JAMS did the jingles for WABC during 1974-1975 .

Cool! like it!
The WABC one at 0:44 is real cool.
Z100 WHTZ formerly MOR station WVNJ FM Stereo 100 with a Newark, N.J. address before 1983 .
well, thanks to online tech, they now are "serving the universe"
PAMS did the jingles for Musicradio 77 WABC.
Every station,except WJRZ Radio 97!
My favorite is the WNBC one at 3:45

He's a class guy.
