I agree Raymond. CBS-FM is not oldies anymore! The only jock I listen to there is Broadway Bill Lee. Could you picture him with a real oldies format? He'd be perfect for a format like WLNG!
They got rid of brucie back in mid 2000s. If u want to find all the djs of cbsfm that were let go they are on sirus radio on a station called 60s on 6. Brucie don k reed are still djing like they did on cbsfm on this satliete radio station. What sucks u have to buy a subscription and a satellite radio to listen unless u use your cell phone with the sirus app. Hope this helps.
0:32-0:47 The Top 20 Countdown. WCBS FM used to do that every Sunday night. These jingles always give me goosebumps of nostalgia. They take me back to my days as a 7th grader at JHS 231 in Rosedale, Queens, NYC from 2007 to 2008. I recognized some of the jingles from memory, but the older jingles gave me goosebumps as well. They don’t make jingles like this anymore.
I just got hit with a huge wave of nostalgia. I used to listen to this with my mom all the time in the car. this was her favorite station. really makes me miss her
Me too! I usually loved the station. Thankfully, I have airchecks from the glory days of WCBS-FM in my collection, including the one I posted on my other channel which is Ed Baer who passed away back on New Year's Day. He was originally a WMCA "Good Guy", and also a guest host who filled in for many different DJ's, and the morning host of WHUD in the Hudson Valley as well as a weekend host of "Pop Rewind". I missed WCBS-FM when it was oldies, now they turned to more 80's, 90's and a few 2000's and a few 70's. Thanks to the oldies stations like WGNY-FM's "Fox Oldies" and WROW's "Magic 590/100.5" (now on 1410 AM and 96.9 FM in Hudson Falls which is north of Albany). You can get these two stations that you may remember from back in the glory days of WCBS-FM when it was "New York's Oldies Station".
My Dad enjoyed listening to WABC AM 770 and Cousin Brucie when he was growing up. It's funny how I've always been a fan of WCBS-FM and Cousin Brucie was a DJ there too.
The station just isn’t the same anymore!!! They now play 90s and 2000s music!!! But thank God Cousin Brucie has an oldies show on 77 WABC on Saturday nights!!!
Woooow! Wonderful Orchestration. Congratulations from BRAZIL. São Paulo State. Santos City. 🇧🇷🙏🇱🇷 Bravo Maestro! Great. Wonderful. Thank you very much.
Justin Joseph Me too, I love this and the rest of the jingles, it's a ton better than the new jingles that are now using for CBS-FM, because it's from the f***ing REELWORLD. I should blame the jingle company Reelworld for putting the new CBS-FM jingles and I hate the most. Stick to the classic jingles instead, stay away from Reelworld, because it sucks!
Now you got oldies on stations like Rewound Radio, or you can listen to oldies on WGNY-FM's "Fox Oldies" and WROW's "Magic". Two great oldies stations for the price of one. Try them. You'll both like it! wgny.tunegenie.com www.albanymagic.com
I love these old jingles. I hate when I listen to radio stations and they’ve got synthesizers for all the horn parts and just awful sounds in general compared to when they used real instruments. The only thing that saves them is they still have the great voices. At least you can still buy the old jingles and put your tags on them with their singers.
@@k2playpedroariel481 Kinda figured it was something like that, Like a talkbox or what you described. I used to just call stuff like that Vocoders back before I went to music school, I didn't know any better. 😅
Why did they have to mess with the oldies? It was a tradition to NY radio 📻. When all of the radio personalities from AM radio from the 60s were hired, their ratings skyrocketed.😢😮

My favorite station of all time, followed closely by WABC-AM in the 60's.

Truly miss the REAL CBS 101.1 Radio here in NYC.

Miss the Top 20Countdown
This is an old jingle package for WCBS-FM in New York. I wonder who made them, was it Jam or TM-Century?
6:43
The vocoder at 1:03 3:31 is perfect
That's actually a Sonovox and was it PAMS or JAM Creative that they've made that jingle?
