Silent Hunter is a World War II submarine combat simulation for MS-DOS, developed by Aeon Electronic Entertainment and published by Strategic Simulations in 1996. The game takes place in the Pacific War during World War II, the player commanding a submarine of the United States Navy. Most contemporary US submarines and Japanese warships are featured along with some generic merchant ships.

Too bad it died with SH5, imagine SH6 being SH3 gameplay and crew management with SH5 graphics,
I cannot understand why SH3 has not been adapted for better graphics with the same game play.

@@dingus_doofus Many games have good game play but it does not seem to occur to the developers to improve the graphics only. I tried SH5 but could not get off the bridge.
i still play AOD and sh5 TWoS
The first game was pretty great graphic wise at the time and the ultimate evolution of a 2d faux 3d game, artist KIm Biscoe did a fantastic job on it.
the UI in SH5 was a huge misstep
Someone please confiscate this series from ubisoft and make a silent hunter 6 that works without molders having to spend 5 years fixing it after release like 5 did.

I remember SH1 i could only get kills with the guns on the deck. I was too young to understand the rest of the game.

I remember playing it, idk, like 3 years ago or something, in 2017/2018
If we could have another Silent Hunter 4, with updated submarine interiors, so you could walk through the whole boat like SH5, alittle more historical accuracy, and updated graphics that would be absolutely amazing. I think I would actually preorder the game and wouldn’t care about the price.

@@Reichsritter I would, but im not nearly as interested in the Battle of the Atlantic/Type VII and Type IX Uboats as I am about the Pacific campaign and American fleet boats. If there was a mod to bring Fleet boats and the Pacific in I would get Uboat, but I’m just not interested enough in the content to spend the money when I can get closer to what I want with SH4 and mods.

My dad used to play silent hunter 3 all the time
I played SH3 for many hours on a brand new PC I got as a graduation present in 2005. Although 2 was actually my first Silent Hunter. I played a bit of 4, but never got the UBoat Missions expansion pack until I bought 3 and 4 on Steam.

sh3 was the best love the Varity in uboat selection , they should have made newer games just like sh3 but whit new graphics and more realism
I played so much SH3 as a kid as soon as I got home from school it was that runescape and halo
The only reason it died is because they went with linear gameplay and horrible controls. I have played SH5 for about an hour and after finding out that this was unchangeable by mods I threw it aside to never play SH5 again. I did play SH3 up until very recent actually. So yeah, indeed if they'd simply use these graphics on SH3 gameplay SH7 would probably be due for release.
