one thing i like about bell is that, even though he is a very advanced lifter talking to other advanced lifters... he still has the foresight to ask the types of questions the average person watching his video may have/may benefit from being answered. Thanks.
Brian Shaw is so well spoken. And he would be the ultimate personal trainer who could teach someone absolutely everything there is to know about strength training. As well as Mark Bell of course.
13:06 Mike looks terrified of Brian. A few seconds later he takes that step back when Brian brings his hand up with the same big eyed look of fear. Made me LOL.
Awesome pressing info from Shaw. Another OHP variation is paused presses. In addition to lockout, a lot of people fail right off the shoulders. You can pause just as you begin to press for a second or two. This is similar to paused deadlifts of the floor/spoto press
it's pretty entertaining how in these videos Mark is often just chatting with the guest while Silent Mike has to wait for ages in a certain position and do whatever he's told hahah.
Great video and content from Brian Shaw and Silent Mike. Loved it especially the chat about why no bands, chains are typically used in OHP's. Who is filming this one? Worried for whoever this is as their breathing sounded terrible and the were not exerting themselves.
Mark- this is an awesome video. I think it's outstanding that so many new lifters and people getting into the strength game are following your channel. The last minute of this video really send the message home. Training should always be fun. Lexen Xtreme sends its regards. Taaaaake it.
Mike is so overwhelmed by Brian it's funny. I would have a hard time being in the same room as Brian not only because he is so huge, but he is so great a person. Mark Bell looks so small.
Everyone does when they're around Brian, even WSM Eddie Hall felt that way, in one interview Eddie talks about when he eats at a table with Brian with other strongmen, that he feels like Brian is the alpha at the table and its very demoralizing to him
His strength and temperament is that of a dangerous man who's so dangerous that he feels little to no need to try to prove himself, and the others know it
+bdegrds you can't not lean back if you're gonna log press. You shouldn't be leaning for a barbell though. Even mike it's leaning back far too much in this.
Band and chains for overload are the fuckin' business. I started using them almost 10 years ago, and use overload on every exercise I can now. It feels like a half-ass workout any time I lift without them now. I'm gonna start incorporating more strongman exercises into my routines. That shit looks like fun.
The soft knees part has me curious. If I'm pressing, and my knees are soft, I'll cheat every time. I have to lock my knees out in full extension for the press. Have to. It's a fail-safe mechanism for me to not push-press.
Rene McLaren not everyone is comfortable or used to speak in front of a camera knowing hubdred thousand of people will watch it .... why you dont do a video explaining the overhead press ;)
It’s funny, but I would never point out to him how many times he said it. If I did, I would point it out to say how I need to step my language game up.
Overhead pressing should be considered king of the upper body exercises, even more than bench. Much like the squat is considered a superior overall exercise, the overhead press engages almost all the muscles in your body, and can help increase your bench and tris and can even work the upper chest and lats. If you do standing like this, then it also activates the glutes and thighs, so it's truly an overall winner. If you did only two exercises at the gym, it should be squat and overhead press. You can build a decent physique with those two.
Legit came back and watched this video because I blacked and passed out into the rack last week during ohp and I'm scared to go do my ohp workout that I'm currently postponing
Narrow grip allows you to "stack" the bar on your lats... it's more efficient imho - and also much much safer for your shoulder stabilizers. Wider grip => smaller ROM => less GAIINZZZ => more injuries...
Brian seems like such a genuine, awesome dude.
+Masturbating Penguin shit I forgot the no homo
+DarkTheSupreme 100th like, because I 100% agree.

Brian may be the strongest man in the world, but he seems to be the nicest as well!
Right?! Like a big teddy bear 💕
+Gully23 I kind of figured he would be. Working out relieves a lot of stress.
Apparently all of the top strongmen are generally very nice and humble. I don't know any that's just what I've heard
Thinking the same thing. He knows, as a measurable fact, that he is the baddest fucker in the room, so he doesn't have to prove it by being an ass.
@@coffeemachtspass there’s so much truth to this. The best of the best are always the nicest
brians arms are bigger than my future
+alexander ponton hahaha
piss
Brian´s arms are pissening.

Brian Shaw is freaking awesome. He seems so fun to lift and hangout with. Great video guys!
13:06 Mike looks terrified of Brian. A few seconds later he takes that step back when Brian brings his hand up with the same big eyed look of fear. Made me LOL.
Get over that Wall Just noticed it... LOL
Lol. Yooooo I didn't even noticed that at first. Shit was funny as hell😂🤣😂🤣
😂😂😂 had to see if anyone else noticed in the comments
Brian shaw form looks like its coming out of a book, his posture is flawless, for a 6'8 400pound guy, thats impressive.
Adopted Hippo His form is fine. Posture? Lol no.
This is now my favourite channel on UA-cam. The work you guys put into it is astounding. I really appreciate it.
I've learned so much with having Brian Shaw on this channel.
FUCKING FINALLY THEY BRING BACK THE EPIC MOTIVATING MUSIC!!
The backwards caps makes it look like you two are Brian's 12 year old kids...
illmitchjax lmao that's awesome. You're right.
Most comprehensive video I think i've seen on the OHP. Great content as usual.
These strong ass dudes who work so hard and accomplish so much are always so humble and kind. Truly inspiring.
Such valuable content for years to come. Thanks for making videos like this available then and now Mark.
brian shaw is a treat and a great teacher mark . i love this style of content .

Awesome pressing info from Shaw.

Strong men are always the most genuine and nicest guys!! Bodybuilders tend to be more arrogant, not all of the em'.
Brian talk humbly he looks like a nice guy real life humble af
Thanks Brian! Awesome video, and thanks Mark, Jim and Mike for putting it together!
Athletic position like the one i'm in hunched over the desk eating taco bell.
I love Brian Shaw, he's so lovely :D
I feel like there's never a dull moment around Mark
PR ed my strict press today after watching this..... and I wasn't even supposed to do pressing today!!
it's pretty entertaining how in these videos Mark is often just chatting with the guest while Silent Mike has to wait for ages in a certain position and do whatever he's told hahah.
Jonathan Read 😂😂😂fr
he so gently spoken for such a giant, seem's and I'm sure he is a gentleman.
Great video and content from Brian Shaw and Silent Mike. Loved it especially the chat about why no bands, chains are typically used in OHP's.

New Drinking Game: take a shot everytime Brian says "sure"
Probly die if u took a shot every time he said "like"
Any off camera tips on shoulder positioning at the top of the lift? Maybe externally rotated, shrugged traps, "breaking the bar", anything like that?
Mark- this is an awesome video. I think it's outstanding that so many new lifters and people getting into the strength game are following your channel. The last minute of this video really send the message home. Training should always be fun. Lexen Xtreme sends its regards. Taaaaake it.
Really cool episode. Gonna have to check out more of his content.
Mike is so overwhelmed by Brian it's funny. I would have a hard time being in the same room as Brian not only because he is so huge, but he is so great a person. Mark Bell looks so small.
Super Training is the best fitness channel on the youtubez, imo
Always tons of good information

I love it! Mad hilarious
Mark Bell really feels less alpha when theres a stronger bigger more badass dude around
No
Everyone does when they're around Brian, even WSM Eddie Hall felt that way, in one interview Eddie talks about when he eats at a table with Brian with other strongmen, that he feels like Brian is the alpha at the table and its very demoralizing to him
@@lowkeykid8767 yeah cant help it. I think its an evolutionary thing.
His strength and temperament is that of a dangerous man who's so dangerous that he feels little to no need to try to prove himself, and the others know it
@@lowkeykid8767 That's a problem Eddie needs to work through.
Thanks Brian! Great information!
Brian Shaw is an absolute beast
brian is a nice guy and definately without a doubt a true powerhouse
This helped me fix mine!!!! Thanx guys!!! Always a big help!
Seems like a chill dude he would make a great coach in my opinion
great video enjoyed it and learned a lot keep up the good work
Seems like a really nice guy. Great info here too thanks for the vid
great video, comprehensive and informative. I appreciate your work.
That elbow-to-ear cue for the over head press was super fucking helpful
Kaz would always lean back and incline press log, no idea how he could stay so stable doing it that way but Kaz may not be human
+bdegrds you can't not lean back if you're gonna log press. You shouldn't be leaning for a barbell though. Even mike it's leaning back far too much in this.
Woolite Mammoth watch kaz
Kaz wasn't human he was a god in terms of barbell overhead he did 448x3 seated and 495 standing it's absurd
mark mason kaz is the only strength athlete that held a world record in every lift, some still stand today
Damn, no wonder Brian is so damn strong. He's scientific about every lift he does.
Brian shaw shot challenge take a shot for every time he says "sure"
TheMitmit03 “like”
Mark, you need to get Zydrunas over there to explain how he does overhead, because Zydrunas is in a class by himself!
Yo Brian! You are Fucking Awesome
Mark is love Mark is life
Mike banged the shit out of his nose lol
16:32

I would legeimatly pay for this info
Mike looks like hes never even seen a barbell next to this guy
This is what a gym looks like if you were wondering. I enjoyed those moment before we had the corona virus

Just moved to North Eastern PA and there are no gyms near me. Missing the powerlifting gyms right now.
Great Video!! Priceless info. The camera man breaths really loud hahaha
Brian has such a lovely personality.
It honestly baffles me that this channel doesn't have over 1 million subscribers!
brian is so fucking humble damn what a dude
these brian shaw vids are great
Brian is the real life Chen-po from Mulan.
He makes me think of Mr. Incredible
is it just me? But i would love to just go drink a beer with Shawn. He seems so chill and approachable!
Brian Shaw's a great guy.
The camera man breathing in the background is killing me.
The soft knees part has me curious. If I'm pressing, and my knees are soft, I'll cheat every time. I have to lock my knees out in full extension for the press. Have to. It's a fail-safe mechanism for me to not push-press.
Amazing man, so humble !
so like but like like like - brian shaw

28:27 what is Mike doing to those bars.
at around 8:40 Brian starts saying "like" soooo much
brain shaw's head is bigger than my torso! What a badass strongest man ever!

please tell me the name of the competition at 23:30 is "dirty-clean and press"
I have a quick question Mark, how was it possible to manufacture a shirt to fit Brain Shaw?
Damn, Brian's biceps/triceps are huge!
God I love this Channel!!!!!!!!!

Is the cameraman wearing Brian's C PAP machine, or is he Darth Vader?
I only watch these videos for Silent Mike. #SupportSilentMike
