#75 SUCCULENT ROT FROM TOO MUCH RAIN WATER / how to save succulent from stem or crown rot

  • In this video, I'll be dealing with succulents that were exposed to rain for weeks. How to spot stem and crown rot, and how to save succulents from too much rain. Water can get stuck in between succulent leaves and this could cause succulents to rot from the top of the rosette. In this video, I show you how I clean up my echeveria and try to save it from rotting. I also save a cluster of graptoveria Mrs. Richards whose main stem has rotted from too much rainwater and humidity. #succulentrot #succulentsintherain

      I'm glad I did too. I haven't been out to check on them because it's just been raining so much. All safe now indoors and recovering. 😊

    Luckily you were able to take action and got rid of the rotten sections as soon as you noticed those early signs of rot. They're now saved ☺️

      I wish I had been able to check them earlier. But the rains have really been non stop. It's ok, they are saved and safe indoors now under my lights. 😊

      It was just too much for the Mrs. Richards because it was still acclimating outdoors. The Lucita was already used to it, but too much rain was caught in the leaves not having a chance to dry out. It's a challenge every year with different succulents, but thankfully they are ok now. 😊

    Im dealing with rot lately after two days of sudden late afternoon showers. My multiple head Mrs. Richards also rotted coz of too much water from the rain.. I uprooted 3 korean succulents today all because of overwatering from two days of rain. Hopefully, there'll be no more uprooting that will happen tomorrow.

    • @TheseSucculentBuddies
      @TheseSucculentBuddies  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, the rains have been coming in pretty heavy lately with strong winds too. So even if my succulents have cover overhead, they still get soaked. I hope there's no more rot and I wish you luck with your succulents, especially the imports.

    What if the rot is on the stem from the crown?

    • @TheseSucculentBuddies
      @TheseSucculentBuddies  3 роки тому +1

      Then you will need to cut off any part of the stem that has rotted from the top. If the rot hasn't traveled too far down, let it callous and keep them dry for a bit. The succulent will grow new babies all along the stem. 😊
