- In this video, I share my thoughts on a succulent plant mail order that has gone wrong. These are succulent imports from Korea, but I ordered them from a local seller that imports them. In the video are different Korean echeverias, including echeveria Laui, and many more. In the previous episode, we unboxed them together and I didn't really see the full extent of the damages on the succulents that were stuck in the mail for a total of sixteen days. They also were not air dried properly before shipping causing some of the succulents mailed out to rot during transit. I share some of the ways I inspect my succulents before planting them in this video, and explain why I'm pretty upset with the order.

Thanks so much Jonah for the positive words. Unfortunately, most of the ones in bad shape didn't make it this time around. The rest that did survive took a very long time to recover and look so much smaller now. It was like it just grew roots and slowly shed all the old unhealthy parts of the plants. But they look much better now a few months later. I'll be sharing the update in the coming weeks for sure. 😊

Thank you. Most of the succulents that didn't have signs of rot survived, although long recovery. But the others unfortunately didn't make it. 😪

It's ok. It happens unfortunately. I'll have videos in the future for caring for succulent imports. This so far has taught me a lot and definitely challenged what I know about growing succulents. Long recovery, but most of the healthier looking ones are doing well now. 😊

Oh no it's so heartbreaking to watch those succulents shedding off leaves and dying. And that there's nothing you can do to revive them. But i'm hoping they could be replaced.
The seller offered credit on the next purchase for the ones that died. But I didn't order from them again, coz I was pretty disappointed with this order. Update in the next few weeks. 😊

Christine, OMG!! I am so sad to see these...It gives me goosebumps while watching!!🙈 that's why I'm scared to order online!! I did 3 times and that it!! It's probably because of the weather. I was pretty disappointed and kind of angry as I was shooting this video. But it already happened and I tried my best to save what I could. Long recovery, but most of the plants are doing OK. 😔

Heartbreaking! About this time last year, most of my plant mails are like this. But I am alsure you can make them look great in no time.
I actually ordered these a while back. It was stuck in the mail for a total of 16 days. The seller also packed them with soil that seemed to still have a bit moisture in them without properly air drying. If only they were packaged properly, it would have looked completely different. While some died, the others did take a while to recover. I'll be sharing the update in the next few weeks after months of caring for them. How did yours do?
@@TheseSucculentBuddies Mine were mostly on a horrible state. Almost haf of the plants in my 4 parcels are DOA. My lovely rose died after 2 months. Laui recovered after a few months..the rest are still alive til now.. They'll recover fast under a lower temperature.
I have mine growing under lights indoors with air-conditioning. The lovely roses died too from this shipment. All the laui died, but I was able to save 1 tiny baby.. Sorry to hear your experience was even worse. 😔

These are the same succulents I unboxed in the last video. It's from a seller that imports plants from Korea. Normally, USPS will take 6 days at the longest to get my mail to me. But it was stuck in a post office somewhere for more than 2 weeks. That along with not air drying the plants properly before sending out was what caused the plants to have some issues. 😞

Yes, it definitely was a sad moment. It's not always beautiful healthy ones I can show, but it's real. It happens when we take the chance to order online. 😔

Funny thing is since they were coming from a US seller, I thought I wouldn't have that problem. But it's not all the seller's fault. It was in the mail in a dark box for way too long because of shipping delays. Unfortunately it happens. Most made it ok, although long recovery period. I'll update in a few weeks. 😊

I have a feeling that can also be the case. Kase you noticed in the unboxing they had soil on their roots. Meaning it had already been planted. So it's not new stock from Korea. 😪

A few months back to got succulents from overseas I ordered And paid for eight but only received 7.
2 of the seven was mush when I opened the little package one more was on its way out and was gone in about three days The remainder was not what I would call good but did survive I took pictures and sent back to the seller and told them that I didn’t even get one of them but they didn’t really seem to care they gave me a refund for two for the one they didn’t send and the one that died within a short three days later too bad let’s just say I will never order from overseas again
See, these were not even ordered from overseas. I ordered them from a seller who imports them from Korea. The mail has been experiencing a lot delays since the pandemic and my package got stuck in a PO somewhere for 2 weeks. That and it seemed like the plants were not dried properly either before shipping. My seller did offer credit for the next purchase on those that came dead. I just didn't want to order again because I was afraid it would happen again. It's just just risk we take. I've gotten succulents from overseas before and they came in 2 days time absolutely perfect. The domestic packages are the ones that seem to come all messed up once in a while. Sorry it happened to you as well. I know the feeling... 😔

Yes, a lot were actually. It was a very bad lesson learned, that sometimes, shipping plants doesn't always work out. 😔

It should be fine depending on your location. If you are growing indoors with grow lights, you can repot anytime. If you are growing outdoors, it depends on the succulent you are re-potting and your weather conditions. What succulents are you planning on re-potting?
@@TheseSucculentBuddies they all is outside,and I'll bring them inside under light I think November. I'm leaving in New York. I just discovered that i have a lot of double or triple same plants. I need to put them in one pot,so I'll have more space
