I'm sure many of us will agree, but Autumn Blaze is hands down the best character introduced in season 8, and I would say that this episode is definitely one of the best episodes of the season, if not the best, with "Road to Friendship" at a close second.

Hundreds, at least. I've seen probably a dozen kirin OCs myself.
Yup, this is easily the best episode of the season, and one of the best of the show, it's amazing, and Autumn Blaze is just the most adorably precious cinnamon roll!
So fun trivia, originally the song was supposed to be this sad, mournful lament about the state of the Kirin, right up until the VA got in the recording booth and simply gave such a lively, energetic, upbeat performance that everyone loved and so the song got rewritten to better fit the performance.
The Kirin are amazing creatures from ancient folklore and so like how they were brought into the MLP-verse! They’re designs are gorgeous, one of the best I’ve seen among the different tribes of Equestria.
Next to Rara, Autumn Blaze is a national treasure to me, her perky personality is great and I love her voice too (as well as her song)! “Sounds of Silence” is definitely up there with my favorite S8 episodes (Cutie Map episodes too).
Fun fact: The creepy ticket pony was listing movies.
Personally "Final destination" is one of my favorite movie series.
The Kirins’ blank expressions make Maud fit right in! Surely, you guys see that, right?
A Kirin's Tale is without a doubt in at least the top 10 MLP: FIM songs!

Autumn Blaze was definitely a highlight of the episode along with the introduction of the “Kirin” as another race of creatures that live in Equestria.

Autumn blaze & this episode are 100% one of the best things to come from season 8 & be one of the best things in the series imo.
I mean Autumn blaze's cheeriness is just so infectious.

Kirin are either creatures of Chinese or Japanese folklore, I've heard both, they're extremely fascinating creatures and I'm glad MLP brought them in the show
As I understand, the legends originate in ancient China, but spread across the Far East, to include Japan, Korea, and parts of southeast Asia.
Sad that we didn´t get another Episode with them :(
Ah, right after my favorite episode of s8, we got probably my second favorite. Autumn Blaze is just such a fun character, and she’s played so well by guest star Rachel Bloom. Fun fact - you know how, if you check the credits, the lyrics of each song are often credited to the writer(s) of that particular episode, and/or Daniel Ingram (depending on how much he has to rework the lyrics to fit with the melody he composes, I presume)? Well, in this episode, Jim Miller and Nicole Dubuc are credited, and IIRC, that’s because when they landed Bloom as a guest star, they basically rewrote the song from the ground up to better play to her strengths (namely, fast paced comedy).
Also, nice Sailor Moon shirt, Lycan- I’m planning at some point to watch through all 200 episodes over time (I remember watching the first season, and part of the second, back when Hulu had an option to watch for free with ads). Then, maybe I’ll give Sailor Moon Crystal a try, see what that’s like, haha
Yes, i've been waiting for your reaction to this episode, it became an instant favorite for many people in the fandom when the episode first aired, just as Autumn Blaze became an instant fan favorite character she has a truly magical singing voice, and i loved that Rain Shine the Kirin leader was designed after Celestia, her red eyes a beautiful!!!
It might technically be filler, but it's still one of my favorite episodes of the later seasons.

This is an episodic show...there is not such thing as 'filler'.......
So yeah, this episode is great, and it is very surprising they were able to pull it off. It isn't often you get an episode of a cartoon that has a message about the consequences of censorship.
The reference to Phantom of the Opera at 13:40 was probably one of the funniest parts of the episode, especially her fast paced description of it. LOL
Good and funny song and episode still, loved Rachel Bloom’s voice acting and singing too.
This is an episode that the leaked yt thumbnails scared me away from. The thumbnail was from the few moments during the ding where she pulls AJs face up. So I thought she was some sort of discord-esque villain. So glad it wasn’t anything like I thou it would be
I actually made a Kirin OC (based on my unicorn OC) after seeing this episode, guilty! It inevitably lead to me creating other creature forms (Breezie, Griffon, Dragon, Hippogriff, and Seapony).😅

Fun fact: Autumn Blaze was voiced by the star of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Rachel Bloom. She sang many times in that role. Look up "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Rachel Bloom" or "Villain of My Own Story" for examples.
There's also the song that brought her to wide-spread fame. It's not a family-friendly title, but you search for "Rachel Bloom" and "Ray Bradbury"

Kirin and Nirik are an old japanese mythical creature that was known to be half horse half dragon

Kirins are actually from Chinese mythology (and I don't think I was supposed to add an S to pluralize "Kirin"). And actually, Kirin are the original form that Unicorns had in mythology before they were horses with horns. As for the Nirik... that's an invention for MLP.

I really love this episode I love the Kirins, Autumn blaze and her song it's so good and Autumn is so funny and I love the Sailor moon shirt I watched the English dub of Sailor moon when I was younger and it's my favorite anime.

Japanese for Druid is "Doruido" (Japangrish once again). I do not recall any analog for druids in Japanese lore, but hey, I am not a connoisseur of Japanese mythology by any means.
And yes, Kirin are creatures from a few Asian mythologies, namely Japanese, Korean and Chinese. In Chinese lore they called Qilin. They're so important they sometimes take place of of the White Tiger among the Four Guardians.

The reason Autumn was a bit loopy might have something to do with time.
lets do some math with a few unknowns.
Rockhoof told Twilight that he only heard about the kirin and because of the ancient shield. Not sure, but i always thought that meant it was ancient for Rockhoof back in his day.
And on the shield were Kirin and Nirik already. Now granted we dont know how long it took Autumn to get her voice back, but considering that Rockhoof had a 1000 year hiatus, Autumn Blaze might very well have been alone since before Celestia became ruling Princess.

Yup probably one of the best episodes in the season if not the show. Fans loved Autum Blaze, though she honestly reminds me of Pinkie Pie though so does Silver Stream.

one of my favorite episodes and the Kirin is interesting i always thought it was a kind of play on monks or nouns that taken the wove of silicanes but ya what you think is true to we do have Kirin in my norse culture to kind of look like sirenians or mermaids
