Man, I learned more than what I anticipated about boating, period! Great video, and nice boat!

my understanding is that 750 watts is the equivalent of one horse power. Also, the exorbitant cost was conveniently absent from this video. The setup on that pontoon boat costs much more than the boat, trailer combo.

I like this setup, it would work well at my lake.

It worked exceptionally well for us when we demo'd it.

    I don’t get why 1.0kw = 3hp with this motor, because normally 1.0kw would equal 1.34 hp?

I was looking at getting a 5hp propane mercury outboard because it doesn't have to be winterize like a gas motor. Would I come out better to get the spirit 1.0 plus? I like that the spirit is also quiet.

If you want quiet, you can not beat the spirit. Super quiet and very reliable.

Me too. I ended up with the propane motor because I do max 10km offshore. Idk I just didn’t feel like the batteries were a good fit for me I go on 3-4 day boating trips without ability to charge

I'm up in North Carolina looking at maybe twin eprops Pod Drive 6.0's as a replacement for my 20hp single shaft drive for my 33ft sailing Cat. Any experience with those pod drives?

They work well. Most people prefer the outboards, but the pod-drives work well for people when the application is needed.

@@TBNationOutdoors having trouble finding stats on this. Would this be a decent choice for a say a cat around 9,500 pounds?

I notice vents on the sides. Can the navy 6.0 evo be completely submerged in salt water for a short time? Could water splashing up into those vents cause a problem?

Splashing yes... submerged I would not recommend. The vents are for the cooling fan.
