Copyright strikes also happen when a company simply does not like or approve of your content. No proof, nothing stolen, and only evidence provided is "a good faith belief." Strikes are used to bully smaller creators at times.
I’m so grateful for this video because I often see UA-camrs use popular songs as background music during their commentary on any topic, and they’re still monetized and I was always confused about it
This message so timely for me given the current situation i'm in. Copyright strikes are truly a nightmare. Especially when it feels like there's nothing you can do.
Concerning thing for me is small channels cant afford a lawyer and dont have contacts to be able to talk to Joe Rogan. For someone like me, its channel lost.
I'm making the hard decision of shifting my content to just doing my podcast. A bunch of my videos get copyright claimed. Some have even gotten blocked. So if I wanted to publish it, I had to go back and change it. It's risky business trying to rely on fair use. My views will nosedive at first, but if I'm consistent, they'll go back up over time.
Does YT have a counter strike system? Seems appropriate if false or unwarranted copy rights are levied against you and they turn out to be "false" and "intentional" the copy righter should be held liable or strike. Bonkers if someone can just "falsely" blow away your channel after 1 week and lose in federal court - which def will take longer than a week. Especially if it's your main source of income.
I often get music copyright claims on both Artlist and Epidemic Sound subscription tracks. That is annoying plus both Artlist and Epidemic makes you as the content creator dispute the claim. That makes me fume as the whole reason I pay for a subscription is for me not to have to deal with copyright claims. The copyright claim negatively impacts the performance of that video (as a small channel) as the algorithm just don't recommend the video for the time the copyright claim is sitting on the video.
I watched the video and I didn't learn what "every" creator must know. It only talked about what reaction channels must know about copyright strikes. So, I'm wondering about other types of channels. For instance, book channels often download pictures of books to use in their thumbnails and videos. Should we be worried about copyright?
It's kind of a shame really. When you hear snippets of songs you like you tend to go and download them or play them on your music platform of choice. I feel like they're really missing out by not allowing at least partial plays without strikes.
I also had this happen - now I only use AI generated tracks that are original.. recommend you do the same. The strikes I got were from Premium Canva who state we are copyright free... but still get claims... annoying.
It's pretty bad on 'how to build your UA-cam channel' Outrageous claims and unachievable outcomes that give would be youtubers a false idea of the amount of effort required. NOT all in this niche obviously (present company excepted also!), but it seems to have become common for youtubers to offer up advice on growing your channel, when it's not actually relevant advice, or it's actually harmful to a channel. Convincing would be youtubers on how to 'beat' the algorithm, for instance, to double your subscribers! Algorithms are exceptionally complex and designed for a purpose. In UA-cams case, to maximise viewing, but it just cannot make people watch videos if they're not interested in them. So it basically comes down to how good your videos are....attractive thumbnails and good descriptions. I agree you can fine tune your uploads for the algorithm, but UA-camrs have to work with it, not try and beat it!
Basically, I think too many youtubers now are so desperate for the CTR that their thumbnails become clickbait unintentionally in lots of niches, and the amount that use the female form to bait clicks across the platform is shocking! That's taking advantage of teenagers that don't know any better!! But there we are, a curse of the modern era. Sorry, became a rant! Appreciate your videos and at least they are professionally presented and deliver the goods as advertised 👍🏼
Just make your own videos and don't use any famous person just to reach up the ladder quickly. By doing so, you will no longer encounter this kind of problems. That's how simple it is.🙄
If there is one thing I can't stand it's hater channels riding the coat tails of established original content channels by using their content and images, insulting and criticizing them. Making false unsubstantiated claims about their lives, and capitalizing with views and watch hours they can't achieve on their own . Meanwhile hardworking small channels putting in the work with Original content, editing, and production are struggling for views. These hater channels need to be penalized or deleted. Furthermore, many are AI Channels that are doing even less work and reaping the benefits
@@stevemcfate1961 I agree! These are the channels that need to be reported. If that's the case that UA-cam only need 3 reports in 1 week then why not report 3 of their videos within a week. That would be so satisfying...just to stop them capitalizing on big creators.😔
I learn that myself a Few Months ago. And that is why I won't I repeat I won't do any Copyrighted Content at all. And now I will do all of my Original work and UA-cam Uncopyrightable Music or Better Say UA-cam Music for Creators. Since then My UA-cam for the First is been Monetize and doing Great now. People Please Stay away from Copyright things it is a Must.
New UA-camr here, I’ve gotten almost 100 subscribers in about a month in a half. I haven’t been as consistent as I am now and will be forever!!! but your videos help me a lot always great advice!
Yes, i even i got removed from the partner program due to Reused content. Can reapply in 3 months, if you meet the requirements. I can reapply in 2 days. 😊❤
What happens if you don’t dispute the claim in 7 days, but don’t see the claim any longer against your video? I got my music through an app, and got a claim from someone that wasn’t even related to the music as far as I could tell, and it was for just a segment ( the music is the same throughout). I was in a middle of an email chain with the company that I got the music from, then I didn’t see the claim anymore but a week had passed.
Yes, I agree, I totally stay away from music with "Epidemic sound, and Canvas, "I got both copyright even though I was paying subscription, so no more..Only UA-cam studio and I am going careful about that..
I've been hit three or four times now with the copyright issue. Using YOU TUBE offered music, listing 100s or thousands of uses.🤨🙄 Me thinks the tube is over googled. 🤨
I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this but I am busy making a UA-cam video about the best deals of the Steam winter sale and I was wondering whether using a segment of the trailers available on each game page in the background under my voice would get me in trouble?
@ThinkMediaPodcast I haven't put a story together yet, I just did a couple reaction shorts, which is not the right type of content, I'm js I know how to upload them from a phone. Not a PC
I made a video from scrach on my main channel about a music group popular in the 1970s. One of the members of that group in a feud with another member reported it and got it taken down.
Thanks for the video! I make all my content from scratch and music i use is only from sites I pay subscriptions for such as inAudio etc and NCS (no copyright sounds) - on occasion i stumble across a copyright strike which i find ridiculous, I either have the licence to use or have permission via NCS as long as a link is applied within my description. Each occasion ive noticed the copyright strike has actually noted down an incorrect / different song to what ive used, im assuming something sounds similar. Anyhow i simply dispute these, the only downfall is a 30 day wait haha.
Ive only had a couple issues and ive only had to repost a video a video years ago cause of a song i had to remove cause i didnt have use of the song i didnt mean to go in the video that i woulhahave been great to use but didnt have enough ability to get permission to use.
This entire video just comes across as a reminder to make content, don't "react" or "be a commentator" to someone else hard work and effort. JJacksFilms really has been preaching this for years now and people need to actually listen. It's a grift. You can't make your own content so you plagiarise others and call it a reaction.
PLEASE HELP ME - Got 4 strikes channel terminated, also i m trying to file counter but youtube rejects it again and again it does not forward it to the claimant. What shall i do, youtube is really flawed
coryright ez, fair use dosnt exists here, so i dont care! Thank you for this video. Imo, I'll say, just stick with your own original content. If it resonates with your audience, UA-cam will push it naturally. The AI Algo has been designed to handle that effortlessly.
If your doing reaction videos make sure to add commentary and value into it. Thank you for this interview guys our brothers in Christ Jesus🙏@ruslan @thinkmedia Sean
there's a lot of people that react to music and they'll play the full song without stopping and giving commentary .and at the end of the video they might say one or two words which doesn't really bring any value to the video because it's you just staring at the screen

Thanks so much for having me on. Hopefully this video can serve folks who are being threatened with similar issues.
Very helpful is there a way i can get in touch with you, because i do stream videos on my second channel too and have a strike too

3:19 I literally just went through a false copy right from someone who did not own the material. I’m happy UA-cam resolved my issue pretty quickly

Awesome video and very eye opening. Both these guys are doing it right.
Absolutely an eye opener for me. Merry Christmas everyone 🙏❤️✝️
I already got my channel terminated. lost my 121 k channel. No one helped me. it's been nothing but depression since
Please explain SEO, and the easiest way to stay above 40. I usually fall around 38.6. Blessings.
Useful dialogue...thank you both
UA-cam should focus more on clickbait which is still rife on the platform!!
what topics do you think its the worst?

Eveything we use should be more creative , also add more values.
Amazing video! I will start testing with reacting videos! The key is always to add value!
yes!
I didn't know a content creator could ask another to share revenue from using their content.
Is Thumbnail pictures included in copyright?
I lost my monetization due to Fair Use/Reaction Videos.. no copyright strikes, just a email saying I've been removed from the partnership program 😢💔
Aww sorry to hear that
Horrible!! Im so scared of all these bizarre surprises. I used to have a channel that suddenly was not OK for UA-cam, absolutely no reason given!
Tryine to build something new. Its so much hard work though 😢

Very interesting...I've been using Epidemic Sound for about a year now and I've not once had a copyright from them. Did they explain why?

I’m grateful for this video
