Eaglecraft and Mercury Marine asked us to take a look at and test drive a really special machine. A custom built Eaglecraft 38 Cruiser setup with TWIN 600HP Mercury Verados. The first in ALL of Canada.
Needless to say, it was amazing. Join Brendan as he is given a complete overview of the boat and motors from Torry of Eaglecraft and Andy from Mercury Marine. This is a truly special boat built for the West Coast and we had a great time taking it out for a spin.

You know they're Canadian when they say "I'm gonna take this boat for a rip!" haha love it
Now that’s a man’s boat, good looking, fast and tough. What else could you ask for?😊
7:32 Even the harbour seal had to check out those massive 600s
He was impressed too!
7:43 😂
@@MrPhatties 🤣dude is such a photo bomber
The big dogs. That's where you go from miles per gallon to gallons per mile!
But the FUN per mile is off the charts
Smiles per mile!
Brendan, I enjoyed watching you with the Canucks when we lived in the Vancouver area. You were a good asset to the team. Now; I've watched you on this venue, and I am purely impressed. Let's talk about this episode operating that 38 Eaglecraft with those " 600"s ! The most impressive thing I have seen. You are very lucky Brendan, and the most impressive act in your career as a TV personality. Great stuff. Thanks.
That is the nicest boat I think I've ever seen.❤
I was in my office watching this and there was an electrician working on some outlets. He's like "Bro are those the new Mercs?" I say "Yeah, first boat in Canada with them..." he watches for a bit and then told me the price tag for just one..... HOLY SMOKES! So sick! hahaha. Can't wait to see this in person!
They're impressively huge in person.
Internet says the motors are about $77,000 each. Pretty good price.
7:43 was the real star of the show.
He was a demanding co star
Wow, what a machine!
It’s a beast for sure!
Man mercury is just killing it wow are they some serious engines
That's a beautiful boat
Love love
As a Canadian boat lover, I really appreciate the Canadian take on boats. We like it different. If I had an extra 2.5 you bet I’d spend it here!
Man I guess we need to increase our pricing😝
nice boat !!!
That rig would be a good addition to Reel West Coast ! You be first to the tuna grounds and the last to leave Weigh West in the morning .. WOW
Yes this would be a beast for Tuna fishing but we’re rocking our kingfisher for Season 6. This was just an overview for the video.
Your Kingfishers a beauty ! I’ve seen you guys out there lots and your boat really stands out. Usually cause your always fighting fish ! Lol
@@daronclark6726 It's a fishy boat! Say hi next time you see us out there. Good luck and tight lines!
Wow!
Now you're talkin🏆
Wow!!
I agree!!
So sick
For wondering the engines are $77,000 a piece
I'm a Merc guy to the core and while I know Yamaha doesn't do a bad job with anything they build I just can't help but notice the huge difference in weight and noise when putting the two side by side. The big ass Yamie 425 or whatever they are sounds like a jet boat and Merc no matter what the power is always whisper quiet. When they bolt the compressor on these V12s and put them around 750 or 8 then things will really get fun. Regardless of the thinking behind this 600 it will be funny to watch because there isn't a doubt in my mind that boaters will always cram as many motors as physically possible on the transom. Guess we should get ready for some 75' Center Consoles next season.
Whereas I can’t wait for Yamaha to match up the Merc 600 ‘s. Yea sound is different but how many times I’ve seen the Mercs in the shop with long term issues and my Yamaha keeps on. Just saying I am the “doubting Thomas”needing long term convincing before trading in reliability over quiet. I’m wondering with these engines the overall cost to us regular guys. I hear transmission and cringe.
Man that looks like a commercial fishing boat nothing else, sure it's a beautiful boat but it still looks like a fishing boat! I think there's room for another motor back there though🤪
I really like these types of boats. I live in South Carolina and i really wonder why these boats are not seen in the lower 48 or even in other countries? Here you mainly Grady Whites or other boats like that
Aluminum vs Fiberglass / Kevlar hull is the real difference, plus operating conditions. You see similar boats in Australia. They have better cabins and are often heated due to the colder weather they operate in. Both styles are good, really depends where you are and what meets your needs.
I’m from northern Vancouver island and I always kinda wondered the same thing, until I went to another warmer coast.
These boats are meant for what many would consider to be rougher shitty environments, the west coast can be cold and miserable. Somewhere like South Carolina you might wanna be outside when you’re out on your boat cause the weathers nicer.
@@DarienSeminoff yep, in Ontario I took the Kevlar hull boat out of the water this weekend and won't be the aluminum one out for a couple of months.
You’ll be at the Tuna Grounds first now for sure !!!
This thing would be a force to be reckoned with in the tuna derby but we’re still doing Kingfisher this year.
What a boat and motor set-up. OH LOTTO Please Help ME :)
I know the people that own that beast of a boat
I think these boats would be brilliant in Australia.
My only issue with pretty much every designer these days is the move away from inboards to multiple outboards.
Yes the outboards take up less room however the cost per unit - including cost per NM - would always make me doubt the economics of going for the outboards
We can build the boat with Diesel inboards
thats one beautiful boat. Are you trading up Brenden. ? whats the price range on this ?
They list around $77K US, but they should be under $50K, you can power with 400hp for just over $30K ea. Doubt anyone running quads will switch out for 2 motors, kill one and 1/2 your power is gone.
Quads are pretty rare out where we are
Very nice!
Straight trade for my Kingfisher 1825? ;)
It's always worth a try!
Canadians have different vibes than us Americans, more mellow. I'm also just realizing that we have different accents.
Will I wish I had money I love ❤️ very much to buy it
Nice video, BUT you forgot to ask the most important thing, Range and fuel consumption on that eagle craft and comparing to different engines (some numbers) would have been nice.
If you can afford it gas prices dont mean nuttin
@@skeets6060 fuel consumption is important to me. I don’t like to make the oil company richer. My kids can find uses for that money.
@@skeets6060 Of course it matters you dip$hit. You should come up with another cliché. Maybe I can afford it, but maybe I want to figure out my range. Ever think of that? And those freakin motors are like $85K each, plus you gotta figure the weight. So yeah, it matters
How many gallons per hour at wide open throttle?
Not sure the engines were still in break in period and the Engines fine tune the the fuel maps four about the first 8-10 hrs. We were seeing about 30 gal/hr and 29 kts full fuel, water 3 people onboard
When is big enough, enough? Will there be V16 1000 hp models? V20 1500hp V36 2000hp? When is enough enough?
Soon as we go electric
V36 2000hp sounds nice. Looking forward to it.
are there V12 300 or 400 hp motors ??
V12 Verado are available in 500 hp and 600 hp. Mercury does a have V10 with 350 or 400 hp
A beauty!! $2Mil+ sporty?
In that ballpark!
Give us a number sir
it looks trailable, dare I ask??? after all I am on the east coast
It IS trailerable
@@ReelWestCoast this just turn into my DREAM BOAT!!
....so how much was the fuel bill when you hit 50kt in that beast? ;)
It's not miles per gallon it's FUN per gallon.... at least it's easier to think of things that way!
500 GPH? ;)
When you can afford that boat, you can certainly afford the fuel.
@@petrhermanadventures9509 Yeah, but I can’t afford to run out of fuel before I get where I’m going….
-"Smiles per gallon"
Cash must be no object
At what point do you ask why?
Merc V12 lord have mercy
Beast!!
Can we import a Manpower Boat like that to Australia.???
12 weed eater pistons?
What does it cost?
80 Apple monitor stands for each engine.
Sorry Brendan, M&P Yachts had a Boston Whaler 405 Conquest in Coal Harbour with triple 600 Mercs months ago.
That vessel came from Whaler factory. The engines featured here are the first Mercury Canada purchase and were at EagleCraft months prior.
OK Boy's, put em back in your pants, I, don't think there's any prize for The earliest CASH Dump on those 6ft.tall V12's hanging on the rear! Besides you both have Turtle Necks so no one can tell eh !
Curious why you would pick a kingfisher over this?
They're sponsored by KF. KF is also significantly cheaper than a custom boat like an eagle craft
Brendan ran a kingfisher as his personal boat for about 10 years before even doing Reel West Coast. Kingfisher has sponsored us for years now and we recently just switched to the 3025GFX. We'll be rocking Kingfisher for years to come, we love their boats! Eaglecraft has the same parent company and they wanted us to do a walk through of this special boat and set up and we had to take the opportunity. It was an absolute blast to drive!
Brendan Morrison ?
Price ?
Gotta be around $2 million
And they say people are hurting for money nowadays, I don't think so.
Hmm 96.7 gallons per hour per engine.
Give us 6 outboard v12's.~3k/hr in fuel only
I've never seen a saw blade on the front of a boat .. what's the purpose?
I believe what you’re seeing is the anchor, although a saw blade attachment would make this boat even more bad ass!
probably just a carry over from there commercial line to push logs .
@@ReelWestCoast No,there’s definitely something down farther down the keel that would be under the water line when idle. Looks like big saw teeth
Saw tooth on the water line bow? Ice breaker? Good job showing yanks to wear PFDs underway.
$154,000.00 US just for the two engines?!?!?!?
Yep bargain
125000,for just the motors ???? Am I close
Good boats are designed with inboard jet drive.
We can build this boat with diesel jets drives. We have built several commercial vessels using a very similar hull design and size. Most recreational owners don't want to sacrifice the interior space and the fuel economy the diesel jet drive propulsion requires at the cost premium
I see downriggers on the boat. can you troll off the motor?
Yes but it is alittle on the fast side for salmon about 2 kts
Sweet creeping Jesus.
Those motors must cost at least $2000.00 each.
At least!
Think they’re only $1500.00 😂
@ $80,000 USD each.....
Boys need to learn how to tie a cleat hitch.
"Fuel consumption at maximum rpm (6400-6500) is around 190 lph per engine. Drop that back to a more sedate cruise of 4500 rpm and you can expect somewhere close to 95 lph per engine"
Let's see...190 liters per hour at cruise speed...take your local gas price and see if you can afford to burn 190 liters per hour 🤔
.
80k per engine you can afford the fuel.
Was 13 minutes really necessary? After one minute I was shouting "Shut up, and take my money." The other twelve was just cruelty.
We like to be thorough!
Like the boat, dislike Mercury outboards.
Then have yamaha!!🤷♂️
Price tag? Lol
Several people ask in comments about fuel capacity an range. An all they got was it's not about the fuel it's about the fun or something like that . Well let me enlightened you about something I need to go a thousand miles non stop an no place to stop I'm going out for months at a time I'm not going to paddle that boat no where. An I'm not going to hang out near a gas station so I don't have to paddle. So that said at a comfortable crushing speed fuel efficient speed what is the damn fuel capacity an the range. Cause if it's not sufficient I wouldn't give you not one red cent for it because those two things are the most important thing about that setup. Capacity an range please
EagleCraft is a custom boat builder. Range and capacity is determined by customers choice of propulsion, design & layout which also determines fuel capacity. Range is 300-500 nmi depending on these factors. 5 different layouts, 3 different beam choices, and 7 propulsion packages are alot variables which determine performance, fuel efficiency, and range. This boat with 600's is the most efficient outboard 38' we have built to date and offers almost 400 nmi range
@@eaglecraft8546 thank you that was simple wasn't it
Gunn it... we CANNOT get a sense of these two 600hp pushing this boat up on a step....perhaps I missed something in this video@ 10:32.. smooth water...down not really show the handling of this boat.... You really don't get a sense of getting out of the hole... I guess yah gotta be there...?
Under testing with Mercury, during engine commissioning we saw 5-30 mph in less than 5 seconds with 4 people on board and full fuel . We didnt do this during filming because the engines were not fully broken and were being respectful to the owners new boat who was kind enough to share his new boat with us all. We have video that shows more performance of the boat and in rougher waters
This thing hopped on plane instantly. Could barely hear the 1200hp behind you
Yea but who has $20k for just motors
Good thing it’s not the Price is Right. They go for $80,000.00 each US dollar
@@michaelmaas5544 get the hell outta here?
@@aslmx1918 well $77k so with tax $80 and that’s just the engine no controls or joystick. I’d guess all in there’s at least $200k just in engines and set up.
$150,000 for the two motors you see on that boat
Faut arrêter les moteurs elice pour passer aux jet c'est plus écologique pour la nature en plus ça ferra chuté les prix
What's with the crappy music? We want content, facts. voice overs etc...not crappy music.
We'll keep that in mind for the next one, thanks for watching!
Why would you put that much horsepower on a turd boat like that?
To get to your goal a lot faster that's more fishing time and it's more fun.
He couldn't pass as a non Canadian if his life depended on it, eh?
Not to worry, miles don't exist in Canada
