Replacing Oil Tank Filter on General Filter

Replacing oil tank filter that connects to boiler.
The filter housing is a General Filter model 1A-25A (filter refill 1A-30). I used a General Aire RF-1 filter kit for replacing the filter.

Thanks for the video, good job. I just replaced my filter, everything went well but when I was done, I opened the valve and when I tried to bleed the air and fill the cartridge, no fuel would flow, even if I completely removed the bleeder screw. The original filter was amazingly clean with no sludge inside like yours. The unit was working well before and I never ran out of fuel. I do have a top feed (no gravity) coming from my fuel tank, is there something else I have to do like prime the burner pump?

If it’s not gravity fed then it would need to be primed.

@@idothings6605 Thanks for your help. It's a summer home so when I get back there I will attempt to prime it from the bleeder nipple while pressing the red emergency button on the burner assembly, one time, with the power switch on. Any special advice for me? Thanks again, appreciate your help.

Why are u showing people the wrong way? After turning the valve clockwise, you have to tap the valve down for it to close properly. You don't want to screw the valve handle all the way off the stem.

Can lost oil be put back in the tank?

that little bit of oil won’t make any difference. just like people that keep trying to top off the fuel in there car. so little is futal even to try. want best range in your car? slow down. over 65 mph can use 20% to 20% less mileage from a tank . plus more brake wearing. and possible ticket for speed and an accident. sorry about the rant. retired auto tech here. 😂
