I tried to make this video like 45 mins.. but yeah, hope you enjoy anyway lmao! Part 2 will be out Tomorrow 15th, or 16th depends on how long it takes to actually reach 1k as i want 2 parts max!
Quick tip if you have money in your treasury you can buy mercenaries on the army screen and on the right hands side there's a hand dropping coins if you click on it, it allows you to buy mercenaries. Hope this helps.
I cannot wait for this game to come out, one of my biggest peeves with city builders has always been the uniformity of houses because it just doesn’t look real. Love the building system in this
A couple challenge ideas might be... 1) Dwarven Master Crafter - Produce 0 products outside of metal (and gathering). Import everything else. 2) Nebraska - Produce only farms and farm-related products. Import everything else. 3) Professional Army - No militia, only retinue
FARM TIP: you can build roads in a border that you want your farm shape in, and then you can fill in that space with a farm and then delete the road after :)
I've lived in UK for the last year, and I've been fascinated by many town layouts here. This town is shaping up to look quite realistic. Thanks for the video, cheers!.
Snap I wanna see you do any challenge there is to do in Manor Lords, the first video was class and this is video is an amazing. Learning lots about the game from you too, it is nice to see that you’re genuinely enjoying your time when playing Manor Lords.
The more I see of this game, the more I want it. However, it does feel like trading needs a bit of a rebalance. Without points put in it, it seems almost too expensive to be worth it for anything you need a steady supply of (like if all you're trading for is arms and armor to minimize the need for a mine and smithing). But with the two picks it feels so powerful it almost trivializes any sense of self sufficiency if you can just get one or two trade goods going consistently enough. Ooh, so far I've only ever seen the "castle" building within the yellow build confines set by the manor. The fact you can build towers to increase the building space tells me you can actually wall in your town with enough resources, though you may have to add the towers and walls bit by bit instead of being a single mega project. May not be worth an entire video/series, but it could be fun to maybe encircle an entire region with walls from your manor if that's possible.
Tips so you don't have regrets later... 1. Tax the dirty peasants! no, but in all seriousness it will definitely help in the long run if you levy even the smallest percentage of tax especially when your approval rate is so high. In the future, you may want or even need to levy taxes but have too poor of an approval rate. Also, you may need mercenaries! 2. You'll watch your village burn atop that hill! The atop-the-hill location is very cool in all honesty but the manor is also very defensively practical. Placing it closer to the town is more realistic too, especially if you ever get attacked by a much stronger force and need to use the manor's towers and walls.
dont get overhyped from UA-camrs, exactly same it was with Cities Skyline 2 , everyone was login that before release and then we found out that it is complete garbage..
Yes, I am not saying it will be bad, but we def. should be more carefull.Dont forget it will be 1st day of early access.. i bet it will lack content, fun max for 20hours and then wait years for finish. For example software inc is also game developed by one man and it is more then 7years in EA, so just dont be to exited..
You could move the hitching post closer to your village center so that your building get built faster. Also, you should’ve built a storehouse and a granary so that your food and supplies don’t get stolen or destroyed over time by weather.
TIPS: Build an area for a good sized market (around 90-100 stalls ought to be good to about 1,000 pop) using roads to frame it in. Make sure to only build 3 stalls at a time and make sure it gets filled by 1 of each of the 3 type. You just delete any stall that gets built that's already built in your 3. Then reassign that family to the supply type building for that good (ie. Granary or storehouse). This solves the production workers running stalls issue. It will also keep you stocked in the market all the way to large town.
You can also have a few market areas around town with the 3 stall setup to boost coverage. Just make sure to put a granary and storehouse across from it.
I also forgot to give you the biggest tip. RIGHT AWAY UPGRADE THE TENTS. It keeps you at 50% or higher and each family of 2 becomes a family of 3 right away. It counts as 5 homes and as you build the 5 homes you'll get people moving in right away.
One Challenge that'd I'd love to see is basically a "Megapolis" run, where the entire Tile of land is full of Tier 3 houses even cross into "suburban" towns around the big one
love this vid! i love the way you take care for the visuals of the village to make sure its looking nice it makes it more immersive to watch than just a ton of rows of houses
I love this late-game gameplay so much. It's the coolest part of the game imo, what the bulk of the game after release might look like as you work towards a castle town. It just looks awesome and beautiful.
Good job! You're the only dude who has it together. All the other vids on this game that I've watched were replete with bad designs, and no troops! lol
FYI wheat is planted in the fall. There are two types of wheat. Winter wheat and spring wheat. Most wheat grown in the world is winter wheat, which is planted in the fall (Sept-Oct) it over winters and then grows up and matures in the spring and harvest is mid summer (July-Aug).
I just got into CK3 and binge watched all your videos. Now, im all caught up and pretty good at CK3 compared to when i started. The only thing i still dont know how to do effectively is diverge or reform culture. I successfully reformed my unreformed religion yesterday. I have yet to go feudal but due to your videos I now know how to. I cant wait for Manor Lords to come out so considering you are covering it. I have only been watching your content covering it. You deserve the exposure and views man. I cant wait for your manor lords videos that follow! Cheers!
The vegetable garden should probably be done by one house with a huge burger plot. You can reduce the number of houses with the minus sign. That would look better than 10 small row houses with Vegetable garden strips.
A couple medieval planning tips for a realistic city: -Keep your stinky tanners and charcoal pits far outside of town -always have a central church, and preferably well, as the middle of the town and keep your tavern away from it Anybody else have any they want to add?
I'm absolutely loving your Manor Lords content - not putting up with you at all, it's great!! I'm enjoying your challenges, and I'd be really interested to see you keep playing after game release. I'm learning a lot from your trial and error haha
Great video. I like that it is different from some of the other guys. You're building style seems to have less finesse, but you're bolder brute forcing style seems to work just fine toward achieving your goals. I'm looking forward to purchasing this game even more thanks to this video.
Modders better kick ass with this. This can be expanded by so much and i'm just imagining the future multiplayer aspect to this it's going to be great.
I've heard about the game and I'm interested. It's interesting to see the different approaches being used by everyone. I think it would be enjoyable to see the settlement grow until you've conquered the map. GG ☮️
take note that food stalls in the marketplace have a short range limit. any House that is Red will need a more local Marketplace. moreso as you expand the town beyonf the reach of a central marketplace
The trade system is awesome. Normally in games like this you can get bogged down with the sheer variety of materials you have to build and craft, being able to trade for them at different stages of production is cool, although it seems like it might be a bit too easy if you're doing this at max difficulty settings
Horses speed up trading and only horses can be assigned to the trading post. You couldn't assign "Another ox" because you only have one horse already working there. You need another horse. The oxen are reserved for the other craftsmen trades
I think a cool feature that could be added later on would be military competence leveling. Like if you have a militia campaigning for months/years, theyd get more experienced at fighting.
in case no one said ... the horse lets your trader carry 10 items faster ... instead of 1 by foot ... the pack camps use mules .. same deal ... hitching posts with people assigned will act as delivery drivers for the large items ... instead of being uhaul oxen they become handyman delivery ... 2 to 4 people on oxen and 4 or so posts .... add logging camps so you can store more than 10 logs .... doesnt need to be staffed just built ... build them dotted around by foresters and you can cycle logging each area giving more growing time for each forest section
I do love the house plottin system, one of the best things ever especially being able to fill out all the little gaps. Personally for farms I preferred (in the demo I mean and still now I think) filling out any small spaces in the townwn with little fields (if not industrial buildings) and then having long individual strips elsewhere. Apparently this is a more historical approach as I remember reading a field would be enough for one man to plough in a day or somthin like that. I tried big fields when I first started an they just took too long and I didn't get the crop vareity I needed an that plus I think it looks nicer.
When you achieve that population number you´re probably going to have an army population of 360 to 540 that was a lot to armed, supply and heal the before, during, and after the battle quickly by quantity.
I am very excited to see how this game will look once they have more funding, support and time Like there are so many areas this already amazing game can improve in
2:32 when it comes to total war stuff, its really simple, cuz the tactics are just cinda obvious most of the time, spears are for defence, swords are forr offence bows are for range etc. and flank them, get behind them :)
the trade post ONLY needs to be on a road that is ultimately connected to the kings road ... so you can build suburbia with trade depots and then slap a road that connects them to the main one ... they also will setup market stalls IF near the market ...
“Manor Lords, a game set around building your very own St Fagans museum” You should have started with that butti. You certainly would have confused some, but those of that know, know. 😂❤
You can kinda get past the 4-point system by building roads where u want say a field, and then removing the road. Made some nice roundish fields that way!

Great video Snap, I like it when you branch out to mix things up a little bit while sticking to the main game that makes your channel great at the same time. I was just wondering, what is the % chance of ever seeing another Ck3 GoT or even LotR mod video again?
10:50 That 'shed' is actually more historically accurate compared to the others. The others are more like townhouses, according to an expert talking to the game's creator on YT about it when giving advice making it as true as possible. He also said there should be more animals tilling the larger land areas, rather than having people using hoes, as it's back-breaking work. They would use a hoe in their back gardens, but definitely not the big fields, it's too much.
The town looks amazing, its sorta like somewhere in Switzerland countryside aye. Also,am in favour of you carrying on with this savefile,i just wanna see how far you can go to make the town sprawling even more. especially with the manor, good placement there for the lord's keep.
Try checking what the other areas on the big map are lacking, like poor fertility will mean they will want to buy farm produce etc, the helmets and bows may not be selling because they feel no need for a larger militia yet? If there is any area with minimal iron deposits you could emphasise producing iron slabs etc.
You can't permanently assign the 6th oxen because 1 always need to be available for your villages to use. Also you can tax you region at either 1% or 2% without any Approval Penalty but over time that small trickly of money with a larger population can make some great personal wealth
I only played the test version that was available last year, but are you sure having one huge field is better than many small fields? Having multiple small fields allows you to get a few field up and running for a full growing season as opposed to having one huge field that only gets to grow for a short time. With many small fields, you can also have multiple oxen working them, which should make that process faster. Not sure if this holds true in this version.
Your town looks amazing! I really like how you plan all these different shapes of plots, look very organic. I wonder if it's possible to have more than one market to add to your "second" town? Or its only possible to build only one?
You don't need to buy a trade route everytime you want to trade unless it says in red "Trade Route Required." Though the 25 cap is useful if you want to export armor and stuff cuz otherwise the route price will double.
This game looks really awesome. It would be neat if they let you fight in the battles kind of like banner lord and take control of some of your soldiers
I haven't played a city builder in years this one looks awesome if they did this but you where able to go in to first person and interact build and actually join the battles or go raid or steal from other settlements would put tgis game on another level
I tried to make this video like 45 mins.. but yeah, hope you enjoy anyway lmao! Part 2 will be out Tomorrow 15th, or 16th depends on how long it takes to actually reach 1k as i want 2 parts max!

And after that 2 part from 1000 to 10000 ;)?
haha maybe!! Would be some challenge then!!
You should be able to upgrade the production facilities so their more efficient.
Thoughts?

Yeah the house building system is one of my favorite parts!
Ostriv soon
Try Caesar 3

Your town looks amazing! I really like how you plan all these different shapes of plots, look very organic. I wonder if it's possible to have more than one market to add to your "second" town? Or its only possible to build only one?
You don't need to buy a trade route everytime you want to trade unless it says in red "Trade Route Required."
Though the 25 cap is useful if you want to export armor and stuff cuz otherwise the route price will double.
You *want* the manor on a hill. Hills are defensible terrain. If you're going to make it a castle, the more defensive the terrain, the better.
