Me and my mate Alek go exploring remote tropical islands in northern Indonesia. Catching some rare species of fish along the way! Even managed a nice beach bbq catch and cook session!

looks like the only structure and shadows are behind you, so the fish are heading in that direction after release for some cover while they rest. sunlight and distance and the gentle slope probably confuses them. you did good redirecting them. alek's channel is great. good trip boys, hope '24 is good.

That species of mantis shrimp is pretty mellow it’s the peacock mantis that will split your finger wide open 🤙🏻 both of which are truly epic creatures

Yep!!! You said it brother!! The most powerful creature on earth!!!!!! Pound for pound of course, LOL! Their punch is faster than the speed of sound, something like 400 meters per SECOND!!!! It's so fast in fact, they actually create little CAVY-tation bubbles, it's weird, totally submerged with no bubbles around them at all, then they STRIKE!!! and BOOM! little bubbles from the sheer speed and raw power! Pretty much anything they hit is dead instantly. Well, except lures HaHa....crazy little guy and a cool catch! Loving the vid as always.....

@@bradfarrahgerwing154 they are definitely interesting little ones, there's so much we know nothing about in the ocean!! I feel like space exploration was premature, we should have figured out how to explore our own planet completely before trying so hard to get off of it!

In Hawaii we call it Wahanui. It’s a type of snapper but is known for Ciguatera poisoning.
Does wahanui mean big mouth? In New Zealand Maori - Waha means mouth and nui is big. It's definitely a cool fish

I caught two once before and I remember the Hawaiian knew exactly what it was right away, mahalo bro 🙏🏾
