You guys are in for one dynamic roller coaster :) This show is amazing. Just a FYI: guns are illegal in Korea so people do not respond to guns at all and most of the country is a very low crime zone. They assume the gun is fake, and getting shot almost never happens in anyone's lifetime. When you guys thought that the main character would try to rob someone with a fake gun, I thought of this. It would likely never work there xD
Interesting perspective. I knew they were illegal but I assumed that would cause people to be shocked when they see a gun. Or are toy/fake guns common enough that when you see a gun, you just assume it's fake?
@@ImAlsoMerobibaYes, in Korea, the only shooting incidents are in the military where Korean men enter the conscription system. Most people think of a gun as a toy.
I binged it and then rewatched it. I’ve been waiting days for people to start reacting to it. I’ve already seen thumbnails with spoilers which just annoys the snot out of me. On another note, I loved the way you looked at the camera over the Asian gangster archetype. Still giggling over that.
You'll never forgive yourself if you don't react to all of it. I like the point that you brought out about going from hating the main guy to rooting for him. These are master story tellers.
spoiler: do you think they'll just start a new set of games with a new group of people in season 2 or what? seems like that's the only way to go about a season 2. only one guy is left from season 1 and his story seems finished, i can't imagine what relevance he could have in season 2.
Yeah Squid Game is might impressive in how quickly it makes you care about these characters. It's a major strength of the show. It takes incredible writing and acting to pull this off.
In Korean, the phrase they actually use for the "red light, green light" game literally translates to "The hibiscus flower bloomed~," (the title of this episode is "The Day the Hibiscus Flower Bloomed) which somehow sounds more innocent (and therefore menacing in this context) for me.
I watched my very first Korean TV series back in 2013. For the longest time I felt I was the only adult male on the east coast watching this stuff. Now K-dramas have become a thing! I couldn't be happier. Also note, subtitle reading quickly become second nature. you forget you're doing it.
9:40 Oh this is clever and I just now realized this. His priorities changed over the course of the game to the point where he did not even care about the money. Just like in the full Squid Game.
Off topic, but “nobody ever moves to Canada” I visited Canada for the first time last year and both me and my friend found the people very friendly and it’s a very chilled and calm place. Would love to move there
even fro this early episode, we can see how much of a cool guy 456 is, when he has money to spend, he is selfless, he gives money to the cashier, he goes back to help the girl he bumbs into, he goes out of his way to be nice to people... this is good character building right there
@@roh8576 i'm sorry, but you do realize, he can be both things right? that money he gave to the cashier, was something like a 5$ bill in the US, he was trying to be nice and gentle with someone else. that's the thing about him, he is genualy a good person, he is not selfish, he is a well writen character.
The numbering system is up for speculation. Maybe the old man is the first to accept or he was in the first van that came to this place or the numbers were assigned randomly.
It is more fun to watch your reaction than watching the show. I didn't think I am coming back to your channel after Band of Brothers reaction, but you guys are genuine, sweet, and lovely. Keep it up, guys! Oh, is George Chinese descendant? How does know there is no tipping in China or Korea?
I can't believe a bad asian guy with long hair and tattoos is reacting to this!! lol jk. but seriously, this series is ADDICTING. I started watched it at 3 am, and chose not to sleep until the morning finishing it in one go.
the blur is not about censorship, its just random intervals to break up the scenes, because when a scene runs longer than 5-8 seconds, YT's copyright detection will pick it up and block the video. in this case, the random blur interval just happened to land on spots where there werent death.
Especially a face tattoo. That marks the guy as a criminal straight away. No matter where in Asia pretty much. Also in Philippines. I have a small arm tattoo. When my ex-gf's dad saw it in Marikina his immediate reaction was: "Are you from he jail?"
The series is so entertaining that I watched it all in one night without break

Not much reported crime, but loan sharks and creditors pretty much beat/stab a lot of people who run from their debt.

The cinematography is amazing tbh..its like watching a movie
Having seen the whole series (season?), it’s so fun to see you theorize. (I’m keeping quiet, don’t worry).

i hate when people spoil the later episodes by saying something thats way too premature😂

Right… i dont know why they took the easy way out by just using red light green light
I thought it was the Rose of Sharon, which is the national flower of Korea. You sure it's hibiscus?
Please continue! Love seeing the reactions

Yes watch it on camera. It’s quite good.
If you decide to watch this (and you should, it's great) don't search for the series name on any kind of social media as it's spoilertastic.

Guys, you realy have to watch "Hachico, a dogs tale". Its such an amazing and emotional movie. I guarantee for tears.......!

Chris Cornell T-Shirt? Girl you rock!
Please continue 😆
Honestly, tteokbokki is so incredibly good, I'd choose that over steakhouse any day of the week.
First season was amazing. He went from a total loser to a Jedi Master!
FYI if you check the audio options this is available dubbed in English.
oooh we definitely prefer original audio. if anything it allows us to discuss things and still be able to read/know whats happening!
Dubbed version is terrible, just cant deal with the bad lip syncing
dub sucks
Please continue reacting to it.

you will see the episode 2?'???
