Best part of this reaction for me is she so clearly didn't spoil herself, look too much up before hand and pretend to be clueless. She is freeballing this and analyzing it in the moment. THAT is how you react to a brand new series.
i actually really appreciate this comment!! thank you ~ a lot of people think i fake or overreact (im an expressive person tho yes haha) to things i commentate/react to. im very honest during my intro on how familiar i am with the content im talking over.
this is also very much an “in the moment” commentary/reaction as u said. its hard to please those who want me pause and dive into deeper analysis or for those who want me to shut up entirely looool. this made me smile bc it reminds me that there are people who get / understand me and my content. 🙏 have a good one friend!

It says so much about Gi-hun before we even see his behaviour in the games, that when he is given money he happily shares it. He's irresponsible, yes, but he's kind.

Yeah my first impression wasn't that he is irresponsible (which he is lol), but that he is genuinely kind

Is it really kind though? he stole money from his mother, cancelled her health insurance which led to or contributed to her death. If he was kind he would be doing all he could to make sure his mother was ok, he wouldn't be gambling the money meant to be spent on his daughter. Rather than kind, I would say he is selfish and has no thoughts about the situation he is putting other people in, at least at the start of the show. Irresponsible is an understatement.
@@1ondon272 just because he is kind doesn't mean he doesnt have flaws he's still human, and obviously stealing from his mother was wrong but he was desperate and really dumb at that time (im not excusing his behaviour) but you can see the character development throughout the series. He literally risked his life to get money to take care of his daughter, if you call him selfish i think you watched the show with your eyes closed

I have a theory that the beginning game was a starter sorter: pick the blue one you become a player or pick the red one and you become a soldier. Everyone in the resting room picked the blue one (I think) and they’re all players. That’s why they’re so hard on the guards as well in terms of security and how they get so many. I think the circle ones are the rookies (1st/2nd timers), the triangles are people that have come back frequently, and the squares are people that have come back the most, consistently, and have proved themselves or impressed someone by going above and beyond. Idk it’s just a thought I have

That is a really good theory! I was trying to work out who they were and I thought they couldn't all be ex winners coz there's so many of them and surely not all winners would choose to come back. Your idea makes the most sense to me 😁 x
No The Writer Debunked This Theory And Said That This Was Not True At All. He Said The Red And Blue Color Didn't Actual Hold Any Real Meaning And Was Just A Game He Would Play In His Childhood.
I like that theory and it's been out for few weeks but the creator said that it wasn't true :c
Not so, are there really that many people willing to do this kind of thing without baulking? Plus they would need training. Plus they would probably be vetted, make sure they are not the type to go amok with the gun you gave them. and they would probably need to have skills to do certain jobs there. (not in this episode, but assembly of certain games, paint the walls, plus the usual maintenance work...)

Gi-hun is a great guy, super adicted to gambling but with a good heart, you can see in this intro how he really cares about people (the tip to the cashier, going back to the girl he stumble upon even if he was being chased, keep the change to the fih lady) and he has a great relationship with his daughter even if not with the mother... I liked him from the very beginning

He also steals from his mom and cancels her health insurance. He forgets his daughter's birthday. He pays the fish lady less than what he actually owes her, cheating her out of her money.

One infers that he doesn't see her often. He forgot her birthday. Showed up with a lousy present which turned into her not actually getting any present.
He also clearly loves his daughter, but a good relationship is not made out of love alone; it takes good actions too.
