Terrarium isn't necessarily an English word (perhaps Latin??) but we use the same word. It is the glass container that will hold plants. The vivarium is for small land animals --- toads, snakes, insects, etc. At 58:57 looks like a mixture of languages, perhaps someone's notes or homework where they have written Hebrew words and then written what they mean in another language.
Hey Margareth! Just FYI, those photographs probably date from WW2...mostly from the South Pacific (which is why you thought it was Vietnam). My husbands parents were born in Hungary, and lived in Germany up until the mid 1950's. When they passed they left all kinds of old photos, many with soldiers, as my father-in-law was a soldier in WW2. So many of these were taken with either old "brownie" cameras, and many times, as in the case of MY grandfather, developed in a personal darkroom. This explains all the the different sizes of the pictures. I cherish all these photos and thought you may be interested in knowing. God Bless...thanks once again for the wonderful video.
No amazing all those treasures you have now. You make me laugh and I love how excited you get when you share your purchases. This is so fantastic indeed. Thank you so much for sharing.
I think that was Natalie Wood (you thought she looked like Audrey Hepburn). Natalie was a famous American actress who died/disappeared after falling off a boat - she was married to Robert Wagoner - he was also on the boat. Love all the books and magazines. The roll up up kit - so cool. It used to be popular in America for past generation ladies to collect those little spoons - dont know about other countries.
57:16 Love the purple and red. The ad just above your hand in this still would make a great journal cover. Fold in half, eyelets. Maybe you could try it.
👍🏻👍🏻Wow, fantastic treasure haul. Always very interesting to see what you purchased and your little story behind each item. I am like you, I love everything. Thanks for sharing.
I make shaker cards and shaker elements for my journals and stuff. Those little spoons are amazing for scooping seed beads and sequins. I use them a lot in my crafting surprisingly lol Some of those old books are so cool. I love old books.
Oh, thank you, I love all the wonderful old paper you find ….. I cant find anything real old or from other countries, here in Idaho, USA..😢😢😢 love ❤️ every watching you…. Thank You 😊
Hi! In the section with Mon Ouvrage magazine, the little black things you called "buttons" were actually "snaps" (if I saw them clearly). They come apart and each half is sewn onto a clothing garment to serve as a closure when snapped together! I was nearly 20 at the time of this magazine, so I greatly enjoy looking at all these things too. I am from the U.S., thanks for sharing!!
✨🌼❣️WOW❣️🌼✨ Margreth you are so lucky 🤩 Awesome stuff aim forgat the time 😆✌️ Thank you very very much for share it with us -Always a pleasure ❣️❣️❣️ Hope to buy a printer soon for all the beautiful kit you have done, just need find the video were you tell about you'res 😅😀😆🤩 Thank you, was a joy ❣️❣️❣️
We used to call those Prym fasteners poppers in England. I think the Americans call them snap fasteners. I still have quite a few in my sewing supplies.
Amazing what you find, I am going shopping with you, wait for me, lol, thank you for showing us, Gayle was speaking about you last night, all nice things, big hugs, kiss the cats.
Always so lovely to see your thriftstore finds. I do have a rolykit, the light colored one on your photo. Gave it to my son and told him…just keep it, it was a real hype when I was young….he thought uh yeeeh mom🤣🤣🤣Maybe I can use it myself. Lovely bokshandschoenen old magazines and Tim found some treasure books again🥳🥳 Xoxo Maia
Am drooling over your finds….I think we must be soul sisters! I collect almost everything that you have shown today! Except I rarely find the books [USA] but have been finding a lot of books from Norway/Netherlands here in Wisconsin!😊
50 cents 50 cents 50 cents 50 cents! I haven't seen an item for 50 cents in a thrift shop here (in the US) for years! If I ever get to Netherlands, I'll be hitting the thrift stores and hoping to score some treasures like yours, Margareth!
You were questioning the mini spoons in your “happy” mail” you can use them for scoops or as decoration on the cover of a journal with a kitchen, recipe, ect theme. Just a thought.😂
Love your finds! I have started to look more closely in the charity shops (England UK) but they seem to be full of modern stuff! I use to collect stamps in the 1980s and have found some stamp magazines amongst my collection. There are a lot of advertisements and interesting bits to incorporate into my journaling!
Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but Wartburg castle is a very famous castle with lots of history. This is the castle where Martin Luther stayed for a time and while there he famously translated the New Testament of the bible into German so that it could be understood by the common people. Previously, they were always in Latin. Love your videos! ❤
Got a chuckle out of you being older than Tim. I am 9 years older than my husband, Tom. In addition, he was my youngest sister's best friend in high school. LOL
Just so lovely ❤. I absolutely love old vintage books and paper. I’m fascinated by the way it use to be. There’s nothing better! So many goodies for future journals!!
Glass mini jars are for medicine. The rubber lead makes possible to get out liquid from sealed bottle with a help of syringe. Please, see if you have micro holes on leads, they have been used.
Hi Margaret, I actually really liked your beautiful purchases, I've actually been learning a lot from these videos where you share the beautiful old magazines and books, I already started buying them too, yesterday I got postcards and an art book, thanks for taking all this time to share, I feel as if we were friends when I hear you talk, greetings from Mexico City
Very lovely goodies! Love the number book, if that’s scannable it would make a great printable in a set, perhaps with the blank ledger paper, and other related goodies!
It’s always fascinating to hear what you found and what you’re planning to do with things!! It definitely has inspired me!! (Even to shop around my house!!!) 😂 Thanks again Margareth!! ❤
Margereth, please be careful with the older wallpaper as they used asbestos to make some. I believe that date range is around 1930 to 1980. If in good condition ok but careful if cutting - do not tear.
I love seeing all the goodies you have! I have a few items that my mother had that are over 100 years old and they are like treasure to me!
That rolly kit is so neat. I'm 12 years younger than my husband.
A woman that is younger in a marriage is more acceptable. Sometimes being older is been frowned upon 😌
Wonderful finds Margreth, such exciting treasures! xxx💕
Thanks 😊
What a fabulous haul!
✨🌼❣️WOW❣️🌼✨
Margreth you are so lucky 🤩

Omg. I so want to go thrifting with you. You could make that part if your business
In the USA, we call those metal fasteners “snaps”.
Everything is just fabulous lovey! Some real treasures there! 😊❤️🇦🇺xxx
😁😘
Nice assortment.
I'm very interested in seeing what you do with the fish pages/pictures.
Love the advertisements, numbers etc. Gorgeous finds, gifts and buys.
Love the Wartburg piece. I went to Wartburg College in Iowa USA. There is also Wartburg Seminary in Iowa.
We used to call those Prym fasteners poppers in England. I think the Americans call them snap fasteners. I still have quite a few in my sewing supplies.
👍🏻😁

I know , saw the video . Isn’t she just the best 🥰
You are the BEST.
Love these videos!! I’ve been watching abandoned houses & mansions. My skin just crawls not being able to take the “Paper & Books” just left to rot!!
What a great idea 💡 thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤

I used to have a yellow rolykit and gave it away a few years ago

Are you going to do a series using these books? Would love to see how you use the fish or kids books, etc.
Awesome!
for the baking tins, you could get an old cookie sheet, then glue the tins onto the sheet, a "do-it-yourself" muffin tin type thing. just a thought...
😁👍🏻
The books! 🤓
Going by the age of the photos. They are probably from the Korean War 💕
Got a chuckle out of you being older than Tim. I am 9 years older than my husband, Tom. In addition, he was my youngest sister's best friend in high school. LOL
Almost 17 ☺️🤫

I love your thrift hauls but I'm jealous
Loving these videos Margareth. The metal fasteners in your haul are called press studs in English. Thank you for the inspiration.
Or poppers
Very lovely goodies! Love the number book, if that’s scannable it would make a great printable in a set, perhaps with the blank ledger paper, and other related goodies!

The metal tins might be jello molds?
Verses of Herman Gorter written 1890. according to the Google :)
😁👍🏻
I took a small bottle. I printed the Word time and put it in the bottle. If your old enough, you will know why. LOL
Jim Groce 🥰
De maritieme regelstaat uit '35 was een lesboek van mijn paps op de Zeevaartschool!
😁👍🏻
🥰💖💯👍
We have them in the US I have 2 Roly Kits
😁👍🏻
😍😍😍👏👏👍👍👍
Kan politionele acties zijn, of Korea, jaren 50. Daar hebben we ook gevochten.
This might be a crazy question but I’m curious. Why do you scan the stuff?
To make digitals and okay with them 😁
More likely Korean Conflict.
You might not have been around in 1967, but that’s the year I got married!
and the year I graduated from high school!
@@northernerinnc3179 It’s the year I graduated from high school too!
Laagje cheese cloth over het plastic meetlint
Klinkt als een plan 👍🏻😁
Welke winkel bedoel je...amous/muis??
Emmaus
Herman Gorter verzen is uit 1890 gezien het papier zou het zo maar kunnen
😁👍🏻
Actually 1924 or older, so no, you cannot scan it
Different countries have different rules for this
I did not know that. Thanks for the information.
Please don't say you're old. You're the same age as my son.
Well I’m also not young 😂
