I'm always amazed at what you find and the prices you pay! I live in Ohio and our thrift stores have moved away from all the vintage and antique trinkets, papers, etc. It's very hard to find items for my junk journals any more.
The wood holder with the name plate on with screws going through to inside, have a look at Ceri the Crafter youtube where he is decorating/making an ephemera holder. He shows how to fix the screw tip problem. I watched today but I think it was a year ago he released it. I love love love the little file box. What an extraordinary haul Margreth. You are so lucky to live in such a moving population country for such treasures to be found locally. I would give my back teeth for those little ladybird books. OOps, sorry, no back teeth left. 🤣🤣😜
I'm only half way through the video, but the metal rings use them as a journal closure sew a fabric tab to the front cover with the ring in it and on the back cover sew a large safety pin with a fabric tab Ive seen journals with this type of closure and it looks awesome!
I love listening to your enthusiasm over a snippet of cloth. 😊 The little file box was so cute. The books are always my favourite to see. I have unfinished crossword magazines from the 80s...the pages yellowed and dog eared. I now consider them to be vintage treasures rather than clutter on my book shelf! 😘 TFS❤ I enjoy the thrift videos as much as the wonderful crafting videos.❤
Bless you. I am so very sorry for your loss. There are not words. I lost my Mama in March. She too was my very best friend ❤. Missing her is constant. Your strength and love is so beautiful. Sending healing prayers to you.
So nice of Tim to help you find treasures! I laughed so hard at your "silk worms"!! Really love the books you found. Fairy tale books are always the best!🥰🥰🥰
Oh goodness! You make me laugh at your finds- you have so much you need to do now with your junk journalling! You need to open a shop to sell all your finds, but I don't think you will be able to part with them!!! You really bring me joy watching your treasure finds & you are so blessed to have your Tim assisting you with your hauls. Great inspiration to look for "junk" Love it!
You got such great stuff i love the transparent prints .the books are so cool to.and the walks cards are great i am English and love going to charity shops buying bits i am a beginner i haven't made my own journal but have bought used filofaxs to start with .
Fantastic finds, bet yiu can't wait to start using them. Only last week i found 4 packs of file dividers with 10 in each, i was so excited i thought of you. Happy crafting 🇬🇧
Thanks for taking me along. I actually would have liked to been in the shop with you. What awesome finds. I'm really just about dying to go to a thrift store I haven't been in a long time. I got to see if I can talk somebody into taking me
Loved this video! Your enthusiasm is so engaging! I think my favorite was the clear box with the hanging folders! So cool! I don't know how you can store all of your finds! I would love to see a small peek of how you store them and keep up with what treasures you have. Thank you!
You have the coolest stuff in your thrift stores. I'm jealous! I am so glad UA-cam put you in my path. I absolutely love your videos. Keep up the good work.
Oh I love that lady knitting tool! When I was a child I would spend hours using a homemade one and ended up with a rope that stretched across our front yard 😂
zo mooi om te zien en te horen hoe blij jij bent met stofjes , kraaltjes en andere mooie dingen! mooie papierdingen en mooie boeken heb je gevonden. veel plezier er mee! 🤗😘😊
Morning Margreth, 😀 WOW, WOW, WOW, I was completely blown away with your wonderful treasure haul. 🙃🙃 Such wonderful materials, woolies (love the knobbly ones best of all) and the lace. The two you showed us last is definatley antique, my grand mother had a lace blouse made of the one (1st) and she was born in the 1800's, so you certainly have a wonderful antique there. 😲😲 As for the books, (I also can't resist buying books, can you EVER have enough??????? the answer is always NEVER!!!!!)😆😁 Anyway, always enjoy seeing what you have bought, love everything, wish I could visit your Thrift shops, nothing compared to ours 😪😔 Looking forward to the next adventure and the treasures you uncover. Loving the dailies 100 day challenge, see you later today for THAT adventure. As always, am sending you, Tim, Daisy and Jackson many Blessings and lots of hugs from Cape Town. 😀🤗🦊🦊
The yellow " inca" pattern is the pattern used as the icon for our National Radio/ Television ( CBC) here in Canada. The doll thing we use it for " spool knitting"
Suggestion for the screws sticking out of the wooden containers you can put a small drop of hot glue over them before it gets to hot and really liquidy. Love all the goodies!
I just donated a box of carbon paper to a local thrift shop i found ehen going through a box of my mother's! Such great finds...except the carbon paper ..it creates a mess!!
Such nice thrift haul and the prices are amazing! You would have to give me oxygen if I found cool stuff like that at those prices! Got caught up in the video, I was just as excited as you were! LOL
Margaret, I just looked up Castle Combs and it's in England, and doctor Doolittle, stardust and the wolf man was filmed there, and also I have one of those knitting girls in the box and it's called Knitting Nancy. It was my husband's grandmother's. Very interesting haul.
Oh my! This is mostly really cool vintage stuff at ridiculous prices! I’m so jealous! We don’t have this kind of stuff in second hand shops where I live (Poland), you’d have to go to a vintage shop where everything is much more expensive and they don’t really have these everyday items like notebooks or recipe boxes. So cool!
In my former life I was a knitter and we called those first two balls of yarn 'ribbon' yarns. Don't know if that's just a local name or more official. Theywere really popular for making statement scarves a few years ago.
Awesome haul! I don't have an embossing/diecut machine yet; but if I did, I would experiment with the carbon paper running through different layers.... 🤔. Fantastic find! That orange/black photo album you found.... the same size & very much constructed like 3 that I had off of marketplace recently (circa 1980 Poland). Similar with unique black and thin-white papers. (Lush paper too) The covers on my 3 are hammered tin designs with big metal hardware screwing the binding left edge together. I transformed one into an "Up!" inspired adventure book, but the extra papers from that one and the other two books have found their way to the bottom of my stash. I'm struggling to get the metal fixings/screws off of them. This video has re-lit my sustainable creative muse a bit, and I'm thinking now to just harvest the remaining albums for paper and loose parts. 🥰 Thank you for sharing x
Miss Margreth, I am so jealous as usual. But I think you have outgrown your home. Every haul you show, you have a lot, and I can't see that you have a lot of room. All joking aside, I am still jealous. Thank you for sharing and God Bless. 🥰💖💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍(🐞🌹🦂🌵)
Hahaha geweldig ik weet welke winkel dit is en met een aantal van je artikelen heb ik in mn handen gestaan en een je gedacht. Heb je ook die mooie victoriaanse foto albums gezien die bij de foto album stonden?
I'm always amazed at what you find and the prices you pay! I live in Ohio and our thrift stores have moved away from all the vintage and antique trinkets, papers, etc. It's very hard to find items for my junk journals any more.
Hi! Columbus here!
Former Dayton! I thought it was just because I’m in CA now. Sounds like they are all gone there too now😕
Actually I find tons of stuff in the Columbus area thrift stores. I’m starting to sell some because my hoard is so huge lol
The little hanging CD folders are absolutely perfect for small ephemera. Great find.
Klosters is where our royal family. England ski in Switzerland I think and castle Combe is in England xx
The wood holder with the name plate on with screws going through to inside, have a look at Ceri the Crafter youtube where he is decorating/making an ephemera holder. He shows how to fix the screw tip problem. I watched today but I think it was a year ago he released it.

The book with the black handmade paper reminds me of the book Gayle uses to record nine small squares of her monthly projects! Your pages are larger.

I'm only half way through the video, but the metal rings use them as a journal closure sew a fabric tab to the front cover with the ring in it and on the back cover sew a large safety pin with a fabric tab Ive seen journals with this type of closure and it looks awesome!

Use drippy to put a dab on the screw ends on the magazine holder and that will protect you from being scratched.
